A Note on Referrals
Reposting the previous note on this since it has been 6 months.
Going to make this pretty short and simple.
If you post your referral code on the subreddit or embed referral codes into links, you will be banned. See? Pretty simple.
The reason I'm making this post is because 15 users (mainly accounts with less than 10 karma on Reddit) have been banned in the last day due to them spamming their referral code.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
Thanks.

Juniper LE Test Drive Review
I just test drove the new MY launch edition in KC. I know we’ve reviewed this thing to death but here are my thoughts as a 2024 MY owner. I had 45 minutes with it and it had 19” wheels.
tl;dr I love the outside, the inside feels less premium, the suspension and noise is slightly but noticeably improved. I will upgrade in a few years but don’t feel the need to now.
Exterior:
The outside is really slick. I like it more than I thought I would. I didn’t get to appreciate the light bars at night but it looks much more aggressive in person imo and I like that.
From the side it looks pretty much identical. If it didn’t have the new wheels I wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. Which is great Model Y is a beautiful car!
Interior:
Here’s where I might be controversial. I didn’t care for it and it feels like a step backwards in terms of design and especially comfort.
Without the wood paneling it is very soulless. All grays and black and you can barely see the light strip in daylight. Personal preference here but I’d probably opt for the white just to have some character.
The center console has removed the leather and stitching on the sides for a piece of plastic and the new storage/cupholder design feels flimsy. The silver plastic has a texture to it and feels less dense and solid.
The door paneling feels less cohesive and I’m not a fan of the silver speaker grill. The fabric is very similar to the current gen but it just looks more hodgepodge. Totally subjective tho. It’s also worth mentioning that the “ledge” where the window meets the door is now rounded. I like to rest my arm on this ledge and that was disappointing lol but totally a nonissue.
The cooled seats are awesome. As someone who is miserable in the KS heat this is an welcome edition. Now let’s talk about comfort. As soon as I sat in the new model I was shocked at how firm the seats were. There’s significantly less cushion than the previous gen. This might be due to the cooling feature and honestly if I had to choose I’d pick softer seats over cooled seats. They were also significantly wider but as a skinny guy that’s not super relevant to me.
I loved the quality of the indicator stalk. It’s so solid and feels much more premium than the current gen stalk. The click wheels however felt smaller and while it’s not a big deal I do prefer the current gen steering wheel.
Oddly, it felt smaller inside. I don’t know why but it just felt more cramped. Maybe it’s bc of all the gray and black just blending together.
Ride Quality:
Yes. You can tell a difference in the suspension. I don’t know how to explain it but it felt more solid. The bumps were less jarring and while it’s not like driving on a cloud it is an improvement.
It is also noticeably quieter. A little less wind noise on the highway and significantly more so in town.
Conclusion:
I love the new Model Y and will continue to recommend it as the best EV and car in general that you can buy at this price range. While I don’t love the direction they are taking for the inside styling as a total package it’s still absolutely fantastic.
I had every intention of placing an order today if I was blown away but it’s just not mind blowing compared to my previous gen. It is very much a small iteration and not a significant departure or redesign and that’s totally ok. They have a winning formula for sure.

Joined the club
I was on the fence for a while, deliberating between the old model Y and the Mercedes GLC300. Eventually, I was swayed by the non-launch edition.

2023 White Tesla Model Y Keyed - Queens/Long Island, NY
Hey everyone,
I just noticed that my 2023 Tesla Model Y got keyed on both the front and rear driver-side doors. Unfortunately, I don’t know exactly when it happened - it could’ve been today or even a few days ago. I didn’t have Sentry Mode on during the incident, so no footage.
The scratches aren’t super deep, but my fingernail does catch on them, so they’re definitely into the paint layer - some parts deeper than the others.
Looking for any DIY repair advice. I believe the color is Pearl White Multi-Coat (PPSW) paint.
Would love to hear what’s worked for others - kits, techniques, or whether a pro touch-up is worth it.
Thank you.

I got $500 from a referral, what should I spend it on?
I got a model Y last May and was wondering what are some recommended products in the tesla shop that I could buy? I would have wrapped my car if the tesla wrapping centers were located on the east coast (I live in NY).

Juniper Pet Mats for the Trunk
Looking for recommendations on floor mats or something similar for the trunk. I have a Great Dane and she fits in the back no problem but I also have kids, so I need something that can cover the back of one or both rear seats in case my dog wants to lay down. Big paws equals big scratches. It’s important that I don’t need to fold down all the rear seats in order to use.

Early Lease Buyout
Early Lease buyout: Has anyone in TX successfully done an early (within the first few months) Lease buyout for a model Y lately? I don't qualify for the $7500 credit but am trying to decide if going the lease route and doing an early buyout gets me some benefit.
Can I ask you some questions: 1. Which bank was the lease with and how soon was the buyout allowed? 2. Did you have to pay taxes twice? 3. Was it worth going this route to get the $7500 EV credit, albeit much diminished if paying taxes twice and other lease relate fees?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Battery health at 85% with only 19,500 miles?
I have a 23 Y AWD at 19,500 miles. Out of curiosity I did a battery test expecting to see something like 95-98% just based on what I’ve seen posted around. To my surprise I was at 85%. Maybe I’m just over thinking it but that seems really bad to me? Has anybody else seen anything like this?

Can other drivers see Spotify songs played?
Hi - my dad is a driver on my MY with the phone key. He sometimes picks up the kids and it’s easier if he has access to the car as it has the 3 car seats set up.
Yesterday the kids said “grandpa grandpa we were listening to XYZ song on the way here” and he said “yeah I know I can see which songs you are listening to when you’re in the song”
I don’t really care, I’m just wondering how that’s possible? I don’t have Premium Connectivity so I tether to my phone and use spotify in the MY via that. We don’t have the same Spotify account.
Is what he is saying possible?

Apple Music login
Does anybody knows why this appears almost every time I get in the car? We have 2 driver’s profiles, I am using Apple Music, my wife has only Spotify. This is getting quite annoying

Leasing is the cheapest option for those who don't qualify for 7.5k tax credit
I just got my lease agreement from chase for the new Model Y (White/White/19/Tow/No FSD).
So much shade is given here for people who lease, I've read Lease = Fleece so many times, so I want to dispel those things. My money factor is 0.0044700 which is 10.728% and it's still cheaper for me to lease, than buy cash, since I don't qualify for tax credit.
Let's start with what Teslas website says costs for someone to pay cash for my zip code:
$51,465 (that includes -$7.5k tax credit, and + taxes/fees of $6,975)
My due at signing is $11,563.91, with monthly payments of $447 for 36 months.
If I want to buy out at the start of my lease:
$11,563.91 (due at signing) + $41,267 (buyout price) = $52,830
If I want to buy out at the end of my lease:
$11,563.91 (due at signing) + $16,092 (cost during lease) + $37,854 (buyout price) = $65,509
Savings if I buy it out at start of lease vs ending: $12,680
I am paying about $1,365 extra than someone who qualifies for the tax credit and pays cash. That's pretty incredible considering I do not qualify for the 7.5K purchase tax credit!
And for everyone who's going to say, Tesla won't let you buy out early. It's written pretty clearly in my Tesla lease agreement with Chase:
- PURCHASE OPTION. You may purchase the Vehicle from us if you are not in default, on an AS-IS, WHERE-IS basis, at any time before or at the end of the Lease Term. To purchase the Vehicle, you must pay the sum of (a) the amount in Section 14 if you purchase the Vehicle at the end of the Lease Term, or the Adjusted Lease Balance plus the purchase option fee in Section 14 if you purchase it before the end of the Lease Term, plus (b) any related official fees, such as sales tax, other taxes, title, tags, license and registration we are required to collect, plus (c) any past due Monthly Payments and any other amounts you owe under this Lease. If you purchase the Vehicle, you will transfer title, re-register the Vehicle and remove and return the license plates (if required by law) within 30 days after purchase or any shorter time required by law. You will sign any additional documents necessary to effect the purchase. We may, at our option, apply any credits or security deposit under this Lease towards the purchase price.
I can provide more numbers if anyone is interested. I'll confirm the actual numbers once I do buyout.

Brand New Model Y Juniper AWD – "Steering Assist Reduced" Error Nonstop – Anyone Else?
Hi everyone,
I got my Tesla Model Y Juniper AWD just 3 weeks ago, and it has less than 1000 km on it. I live in Switzerland, and I’m already dealing with a frustrating issue.
While driving on the highway yesterday, I suddenly received this warning:
"Steering assist reduced. Steering may require increased effort."
At first, I didn’t notice any actual difference in the steering—it didn’t feel heavier or harder to control. But the error message started flashing nonstop, constantly coming and going every second. It would disappear, then instantly reappear.
I pulled over somewhere safe and did a reset using the two buttons on the steering wheel, but it didn’t help. I continued driving, parked at a charging station in the city for a couple of hours, and when I returned, the issue was still there.
It’s not just a highway issue—the warning appears while driving in the city too, and it also shows up right after I start the car.
I’ve created a service request, but the first available appointment is in 4 weeks, which feels unacceptable for a brand-new car.
I’ve found a few older posts from 2022 mentioning similar issues, but the solutions vary:
- Some say it’s software-related.
- Others needed a steering rack replacement.
- A few reported that it disappeared after multiple resets.
In my case, the warning doesn’t seem to change the way the car drives, but it’s definitely unsettling to have this constant error on such a new vehicle.
Has anyone else with a 2025 Juniper Model Y had this issue recently?
If yes, how long did it take Tesla to fix it once you brought the car in for service?
Would really appreciate any feedback or shared experiences, especially from anyone in Europe or Switzerland!

263 miles at 67K miles, 2022 MYP
It’s been a few months since I charged to 100%. My current reading is 263 miles which equates to 13% loss.

Launch Series Dash Material
Hey all. Got the new Y launch series about a week ago. First Tesla so I've been watching videos to get better acquainted with how everything works and whatnot. In multiple videos I've seen that the Launch Series comes with a black faux suede material on the dash. I have the white and black interior, and my dash is this white/gray cloth material. Is the black suede only with all black interior, or was mine supposed to come with it too?

FSD coming to Europe?
Just found this video of a FSD test in Amsterdam. Is this legit? Anyone has more info about this?
By any chance anyone here is working on the EU commission? 🤣
