🚨 Attention all non-Thai nationals! Starting 1 May 2025, Thailand is rolling out a new mandatory system for all travelers arriving by air, land, or sea.
What’s changing?
You’ll now need to complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) online before you arrive in Thailand! ✈️🚢🚗 This digital system will replace paper forms, making immigration processing faster, easier, and more secure. 📝❌
Key Details: ✅ You must register within 3 days before your arrival.
🔗 Apply here: https://tdac.immigration.go.th
Why is this important?
Starting 1 May 2025, the TDAC is mandatory for all non-Thai nationals entering Thailand. So make sure you apply ahead of time to avoid any delays at immigration! 🚨
Safe travels! 🌏✈️

Hey Folks! I shot some street shots on my phone last November. How's the weather now? The city's infrastructure was really something special in my view. Thank you for a memorable trip!

Hi, I am travelling to thailand soon with some friends but I am allergic to peanuts, shellfish, and crustaceans. To prepare for eating at restaurants, I have created some allergy cards. Could someone tell me if the thai translation is correct and would be understood. Thank you

We are planning our three-week trip to Thailand and could use some help with it! * We start our trip in Phuket, and depart back from Bangkok. I've currently made 3 different itineraries and would love to know what one you recommend and any changes or locations I should add or change. And some suggestions for islands close to Bangkok.
From what my research has said our trip is starting in the rainy season so I would like to follow an itinerary but will not book too far in advance as I know the weather with ferries can get cancelled/islands can become flooded.
Not sure how smart it is to change locations so frequently, we do enjoy changes of scenery frequently but if you think it'll be better to remove some of the locations and stay longer at each place I would love to hear your take on it. We want to experience both the north and south of the country, but we are planning on going to Thailand again next year as it is such a big country to explore so if we don't end up visiting certain places we can visit next time.
Have heard that Koh Phi Phi is very touristy and might not be worth it so please let me know your thoughts on this, I have also heard that Phuket and Bangkok are very busy and might not be worth staying long but I think we will enjoy them as we like shopping and being in the heart of cities.
Little about us: There are 3 of us travelling all aged 21 we love adventure and exploring, Occasional parting, and relaxing, we will be driving scooters where we can.
Thank you so much in advance.

Just noticed recently that when booking a hotel it is cheaper for me when logged out wondering if anyone else has this issue or just me? For example just tried to book a hotel and on the app it was $57 a night but when I searched the same hotel on google and clicked the agoda link it was $49 a night.

Is there a plant lover in Bangkok who wants to show me and my wife around for an afternoon? We’re looking to find the best hidden gems throughout the city. Visiting from NYC! Looking for a guide on 4/25, 4/26.

Hi, I’m a 27 years old solo traveler from Saudi Arabia. I’m staying here in Bangkok until 17th of April. I want to meet new friends from Thailand or people who are visiting like me. Please no escorts or freelancers as I only want people who want to hangout and have fun.

Basically the question, it's been a month or so since I'm back from amazing 2 weeks in Thailand. I can't focus on work or my day to day. Infact day dreaming about being Thailand.

It’s the only store I spend money on coffee. I’m not about to spend $8 on a venti at Starbucks in SoCal. Cafe Amazon is everywhere and I only ever get iced Amazon with 25% sugar.

I am arriving BKK 12/22/25 and departing HKT 01/01/26. I want to spend 1 night in Bangkok, one in Pattaya, another in Bangkok, then head south along the eastern coast. 2 nights in Hua Hin, then 2 night getting to Krabi. Should I rent a car or rely on local transportation, renting the car, I will take two night getting to Krabi, but a taxi would be one day. If I drive, which tows would be best to stay at? I’m worried about renting the car as I will be tired from the long fight time, and I drive on the right hand side in the states. I’ve been driving 50 years, so am pretty skilled and drive defensively.

Hi I’m looking for a trip to Krabbi in a couple weeks. It’s going to be the second part of my honeymoon and I know I’m late to book but any help is appreciated.
If anyone know any resorts/hotels that are good and not too far from city so I can also get to explore.
I’m looking for resort/hotel that also have multiple activities such as snorkeling/island hopping, etc.
Breakfast and dinner options are a plus (I don’t mind paying on a daily basis as some days I may decide to eat out at local restaurants)
Another plus is hotels that arrange transportation from krabi international airport and also maybe help with rentals for mopeds so I can get around the city with my wife.
Please shoot me recommendations much appreciated!

Hello r/Thailand! I’m a 32-year-old guy from California taking a 6-month sabbatical (May to December) before starting a new career. I’ll be traveling throughout Southeast Asia, and I want to spend as much time in Thailand as possible during my journey.
About my trip: • Overall duration: 6-month sabbatical (May-December) • Thailand portion: Looking to maximize my time in Thailand as a tourist • Budget: ~$3,000 USD per month • Accommodation: Mix of hostels and hotels • Style: Seeking authentic cultural experiences • Will be visiting other SE Asian countries as well
Some specific questions:
1. Climate/Packing: What clothing should I pack for May-December? Understanding most months will be rainy season - any specific recommendations?
2. Cultural tips: What are some important cultural do’s and don’ts that might not be obvious to a Westerner? Any specific etiquette I should know about?
3. Must-see places: Beyond the obvious tourist spots, what are some less-known gems I should visit? Any recommendations for experiencing authentic Thai culture?
4. Places to avoid: Any areas that might be unsafe or just not worth the time/money?
5. Tourist visa: What’s the maximum time I can stay as a tourist? Any tips for maximizing my time in Thailand legally?
6. Regional travel: Best places to use as jumping-off points for visiting neighboring countries?
7. Internet reliability: How’s the connectivity throughout the country for occasional remote work?
8. Phone service: What’s the best option for mobile service while in Thailand? Recommended carriers or SIM cards for tourists?
9. Budget reality check: I think my $3,000 USD monthly budget is more than reasonable. How would you allocate this between accommodation, food, activities, and transportation for a good experience?
I appreciate any and all advice! I’ve been wanting to explore Thailand for years and finally have the chance. Thanks in advance for sharing your knowledge!

I'm doing doing a Japan/Thailand trip.
Flying into Japan April 13th. Arriving in Chiang Mai on April 18th. I have some flexibility in my days so I'll list what I currently have scheduled.
Chiang Mai April 18th-21st
Nothing April 21st-23rd
Bangkok April 23rd-27th.
Should spend those 2 days in Pattaya? Make it three days and fly to Phuket? Add a day to Chiang Mai and Bangkok and just do two cities?

It been a while since my last visit to Thailand. When I was young you came with guide book negotiated a price at hotel and I remember it been easy. I’m now here with my family, I thought with the internet it should be even easier. I’m finding the likes of booking dot com and Agoda scamy. Hidden costs and fake photos of rooms, I go to places with good reviews and they are a shit hole. What’s the best way to navigate this stuff nowadays?

Hey guys I’m in Bangkok and already managed to get some cool kits (R9, Neymar santos, kaka Milan) - but it seems like I hit a wall and most of the shops carry similar inventory.
Any recommendations to places which have a more wide selection so I could find some grails? I’m talking things like Ronaldo sporting. Maybe even some holy grails like - Scotland home 1996 , Celtic 1997
Also - I’m paying around 1k / jersey - fair price? Thanks a lot

They are between 1-3cm in diameter. I thought jellyfish but couldnt see any tentacles. It was just a flat clear jelly that kept its form though..
