Blueprint Building Challenge Blueprint Building Challenge | April ‘25 | Restaurant

Welcome to the Blueprint Building Challenge!

Not sure how this works? Read below!

  • Every first Friday of the month we will provide a floor plan to use as inspiration
  • Try to get as close to the floor plan as you can in the Sims (1, 2, 3, or 4)
  • A voting form will be posted on the sub after the challenge deadline for users to vote on their favorites
  • The top 3 will be announced in the next Blueprint Building Challenge post. The winner will get a “Challenge Winner” Flair for the following month.
    • If a winner is also a Spotlight winner they will keep the Spotlight flair and the Challenge Winner flair will go to the second place winner.
    • If the winner is also a Building Prompt winner, they will choose which flair they want and the remaining flair will go to the second place winner.
  • CC and TOOL mod are allowed.

The Blueprint

This month’s blueprint is a one-story, restaurant.

  1. Kitchen and bathroom layouts must follow the floor plan (unless you need to adjust a tub/toilet/etc. placement slightly for functionality)
  2. Exterior and interior design are completely up to you! But the lot must have landscaping and the building must be furnished.
  3. When you’ve completed your build, submit it as a top level comment on this post. Please list your Gallery ID and a link to images of your build. (ex: Gallery ID: TheSimsBuildingGallery, Pictures: fake.tumblr.com/myimages)
  4. You do not have to include the empty rooms in the top left corner, or have as many seating spots as are in the image.
  • You can share up to 20 images on TheSimsBuilding under the Showcase Flair and use that link
  • OR you can post a Tumblr or Imgur link
  • Video submissions are not allowed
  • You can also add a single preview picture and/or description or backstory for your build if you’d like!

I realize that this month's blueprint is not the easiest to read, but do your best to interpret it :D

Points System

  • +10 points for every user vote
  • +10 points for voting (remember to include your Reddit username in the voting form)
  • Up to 10 points for:
    • Accuracy
    • Landscaping
    • Furnishing

Last Month’s Winners

  1. u/maxwelljamess - Boho Cottage
  2. u/catwomanforever - Challenge Entry
  3. u/choctawowl - Challenge Entry

**\*

This Challenge begins on Friday, April 4th and ends on Sunday, April 20th at 11:59pm CST.

Voting will begin on the following Monday in a consolidated pinned post for Challenges on TSB homepage when available.

If you have any questions, send a Modmail with the subject “Blueprint Building Challenge”.

Help Placing things on platform edge?

Thumbnail

Hello Is there any reason why items cannot be placed on the edge of this platform? The plant next to the wood shelf is as far as it can go and be actually on the platform. Middle plant is placed with MOO but still acts as though it is on the lower floor and not the platform. For reference, the islands and chairs were fine on the other side of the platform (2nd pic). This is a tweaked version of Old Torget House, if that makes any difference or has any known issues. Thanks for any ideas!

Building Tips & Info Tips on Roofing a Bay Window?

Thumbnail

I’m trying to do a bay window on my build with an indoor balcony looking down on the second floor. I think because of the stairs/railing or lack of floor is causing it to not read as an enclosed room, allowing the roof to phase through the walls. I attempted to piece together a roof but there were awkward gaps on the diagonal walls (3rd picture). Any tips?

I currently have a house model in blender I'm using as reference. I'm trying to make it in game so i can decorate it but I'm unsure how to go about it since it isn't a usual house shape. I'm not a builder, i spend most my time in cas, so I've been having a hard time. Can anyone give me tips or feedback on how to go about making this in game?

I'm mainly having issues with the lofted areas as well as the slanted roof. I want the living room to have a tall slanted ceiling that has a upper loft area.

Help Is there a way to build a light shaft from the ground floor through all the basement floors?

I’m able to build a shaft clear through all the basement floors, and clear through the upper floors so you can see from one end to the other—but the ground floor disrupts it. The sledgehammer tool does not remove terrain floor. Is there any way around this? Theoretically, this could allow ample daylight into all the basement levels (but I only want one square tile of empty space for this shaft).

Help Sims 4: How do I add wallpaper to the exterior of this

Hi all! I made a platform use the "flat" shape tool (my cursor is hovering over it in the ss) and I'm wondering how to add wallpaper to the exterior. I tried googling but didn't know what terms to look up and couldn't find anything. Any help is appreciated, thank you!!

Help “Not expanded to ops” issue

Hi everyone, I hope this is the right place to ask about this issue -

I’ve built 4 separate residential rental units on a 64x64 lot (there is some furniture in each lot, not sure if that matters).

So I had a family purchase the rental lot and moved it into 1 of the lots, but wanted to add a green house in the back yard (of the inhabited lot), but am getting the “not expanded to ops” issue when I try to add a roof and when I try to delete the flooring with the sledgehammer tool. The gardening plots can’t be placed on flooring.

From what I’ve read on related reddit posts, you can go to manage worlds then back to the lot to make edits, but that hasn’t fixed the issue.

I’ve also seen some suggestions to delete the stairs in the units - but if I had 4 units would I need to delete the stairs on all 4 units or just the inhabited one?

Any help is appreciated, sorry for the super long post and delete if it’s not allowed. I’m just getting frustrated and don’t know where to find answers. TIA!
