It was because they were trying to force TikTok to be sold to one of the major propagandists here in the US (Probably Xitter or Meta), and they didn't expect them to just fuck off and cut the US loose. So now they're backpedaling.

Considering how much money folks like Zuck and Elon funneled into lobbying for banning Tiktok, it seemed obvious to me.

But now Trump gets to pretend that he saved the day, after Tiktok basically bribed him.
