Little guy followed my boyfriend home from the bar.
He waltzed through the front door and snuggled right in. We've had him for a few weeks now and I'm so happy. I grew up with lots of cats but never had a tuxie, he's so sweet, he's 50% sleep, 40% lovies, and 10% mischief. His name is Possum. We love him.
My CDS is defective too. I tried taking in one of the friendly colony cats that I feed (he was sick and had to go to the vet) but he was NOT having it. Yowled all day for three days straight, didn't eat or pee. He went back outside and is his happy self again.
I'm hoping she grows out of it, they usually do, but she's the worst I've ever had. Little monster is completely immune to bite training. On the plus side she picked up litter training extremely quickly, which makes me believe she's just smart enough to be malicious.
I attend every meeting like I just fought off Freddy.
He let you give him a bath?!? How? LOL. I need some tips! I have three that will each cause my arms to look like a road map if I even try to put them near a tub of water, although they are fascinated by it, and will watch the sink faucet run and the toilet flush all damn day. They even have a fountain they love to play with drink out of.
Oh, wait… Maybe he is someone’s lost pet? Did you take him to a vet to see if he has a microchip?

Definitely not a lost pet, he's smaller than he looks, he was about 10 weeks so his mama was probably just starting to ditch him. I think having lived outside initially he was pretty used to getting wet and he was also so exhausted when he came in the house he was so docile for anything. He was okay with the warm water initially, only cried when it started to get cold.
Oof all kitties get at least a partial bath when I adopt. It’s not the best, but a Dawn bath wipe down of some sort. I’ll wear long sleeves and scruff if need be. No dirty kitties here. Then some nail clipping and Churu after. I seek help on the nail clipping.
I feel like all this introduces them to who their new mama or daddy is grooming them. It’s not an easy job!
Yes, I do the wipe-downs with them, and I trim their nails (they actually don’t mind that for some reason). I bought these online: they smell really good and the kittehs love the rubbin’s! They do try to take them away and/or “play” with the wipes, but we get it done.

I told my bf who didn't grow up with cats that we are the ones who hit the jackpot lol. Born feral can go so many different ways but he clearly yearned for a softer lifestyle.
This little fella showed up at our house, malnourished and broken. Apparently a neighbor abused him as a kitten. I had him x-rayed and leg was broken in three places, but had partially healed. He walks with a limp, but he’s a happy boy now.
Possum has the makings of a world class pet. I lost my 21 y.o. Tux & was heartbroken for a few weeks when another young Tux moved right in & stayed for 17 years. I’m waiting for the next one! Tuxedo cats are very special.
Prepare yourself! For that is going to be a large lad!
CDS gave me my boy in July. We had guessed he was around 4 months at the time. At his last appointment, she literally said he may be younger than (currently) 8 months and he's already NINE AND A HALF POUNDS. Your boy also has the bunny feet.

He was filthy before we cleaned him up. He went to the vet a week after we found him, no chip. There are ferals in our neighborhood and the vet estimated him at 8-10 weeks so his mama probably just started ditching him when he saw a chance and took it to befriend the big man walking down the street lol.
Hey, I had a little meow follow me from the bar a long time ago, and she looked just like this! It was late at night and snowing pretty hard and I could heard some little meows stalking me. I found her in the deep snow and took her home. I didn’t have any cat ingredients, so I made her a piece of chicken and got all the stuff the next day.
A few months later, she disappeared. I think my brother’s POS drug dealer friend let her out or took her. I’m pretty sure he had stolen from me before. Scum.
What a wonderful little guy! Take good care of him as I’m sure you will, and he will be the best friend you could ever hope to have like my Tux is to me.
My first two cats right after college were tuxedo's, I now have 3 Bengals and three rescues and I'll say there is something special about tuxs, you need to get the little guy a friend if you can. It will enrich his life so much.
Tuxedo cats are very smart and have a silly sense of humour! Make sure to give him a nice cozy space all his own, and plenty of different ways to engage his brain, or you'll find scratch marks on everything. Good luck and enjoy!
