Or 'It was good living with you but the time for the world to end has come. I will come home victorious'

You can do it back to your cats, and it's a good way to reassure a scared new cat too! When I first adopted Ella she would occasionally creep towards the living room looking like she was foraging for supplies during a zombie apocalypse and one might be lurking anywhere. She'd freeze when she saw me, but if I gave her a slow blink she'd do an insanely loud trill and come a little more confidently into the living room. Though she would still flee in terror if she so much as saw a sleeping cat, let alone saw an awake cat looking at her.
(She's now the alpha queen who rules the house and my other two cats are both careful not to get within whacking distance of her.)

Snickers often licks her nose when I ask her questions! Kind of like a response. I asked her “I need to explain something, are you listening?” And she licked her nose and did her little “mmhm!” purr!!

Mine always does that whenever she's too tired to meow back when I say goodnight to her as I go upstairs 🥹

My cat Wink is almost identical to this legend. He is prone to a slow blink. Super chill guy. There are many like them, but this one is yours.

I slow blink my babies all day haha. I even get on the floor with them so they don't have to look up at me.
