Hey /r/Twitch
We often see posts on the subreddit about viewers and streamers experiences, as well as streamers sharing what they've learned.
To bring you all together to learn from your peers, and help you keep yourself accountable for any goals you've set, we created this Megathread!
You are welcome to share some of your experiences, positive or negative, from your past month on Twitch and, if you did, how you dealt with it, as well as share your long and short-term goals, and how you've progressed towards those over the past month.
The Megathread is not for stream feedback or reviews, we have the monthly feedback threads for that. You can link to your Feedback thread submission, be sure to label it clearly!
Some things you may want to cover:
Be sure to post your goals clearly and format your comment.
Example post:
Hey guys, checking in again!
My goal for this month is to make sure I'm always hosting someone. I want my community to have someone to entertain them, even when I'm not live. Plus, it's good for networking!
My goal last month was to always announce I was live on both Twitter and Discord, as it was something I often forgot to do. I'm glad to say I met my goal!
I tried streaming some creative, just practicing using my graphics tablet, and it seemed to be popular! I'll do some more of it, maybe a weekly stream? Any advice?
The highlight of the past month was when I got raided by Zcotticus, he's the best and I love him. He's so cool, I wish I could be cool like him.
How do you guys normally react to a host? I sort of fumbled through a thank you, and that was about it. Any advice?
Re-read your last post to remind yourself of what you planned, or check in on your peers!
If you don't stream, but still experienced something awesome. Feel free to share it! Did you make someone’s day? See a Win or Fail? Let us know!
Remember this is not for channel promotion! People can check out your flair\ *if they are interested.*
If you have any suggestions for this thread, please send us a modmail.

I’m curious how people feel about a streamer staying quiet and taking in the story of what they’re playing from time-to-time, avoiding talking over any of the characters and only chipping in during quiet moments. Do you prefer it when they stay quiet, take in the story, and allow the viewer to take it in as well, or do you prefer that they keep talking as usual, and maybe ignore the story? (I have no ill will towards either side, I’m just curious about the general consensus.)

It feels weird that if 2 streamers activate the shared chat function, the viewers don't have an option to not be included.
There's a group of fairly small streamers that I watch, and I'm a bit more known in 1 of their streams than I am in the others. Sometimes I want to send messages or make jokes that I only want that streamer to see, but wouldn't make sense to the others in the shared chat. Or there's some that I just don't like on a personal basis, and actively want to avoid interacting with them.
But now because they have this function active most of the time, I feel like I can't really engage with any of their content anymore, as there's no choice to opt out of it

I'm going to be streaming myself for the next week 24/7, just wondering what would be the best way to advertise such a thing?

Hey everyone! I'm conducting a study on content creators (10k-1M followers) and how they're adapting to the rise of Virtual Influencers (VTubers, animated personas, AI-assisted characters, etc.) or experimenting with virtual identities. If you're interested in sharing your experience, please read on:
Preferably 18+. Nothing NSFW is involved, but I’d rather not include minors for ethical and safety reasons.
Almost any type of industry is welcome—Tech & Gadgets, Gaming, Education, Lifestyle, Beauty & Fashion, Travel etc.
It's going to be a semi-structured interview, focusing on your view on Virtual Influencer affecting your current role/monetization strategy as creators. Some question guideline:
The interview will last approximately 45 to 60 minutes. It will be recorded and transcribed, and you’ll have the chance to review the transcript afterward to make any edits. Your privacy and confidentiality will be fully respected and prioritized throughout the process.
Estimated interview period: Apr–May 2025
I’ll be raffling off 3 x $50 gift cards to a few lucky folks who take part—just a little bonus for your time!
This is part of my Bachelor thesis, and I’m hoping it can help shed light on how creators like you can stay ahead and grow in the fast-changing world of content creation, especially with the rise of Virtual Influencer (VI)
If you’re interested or have any questions, feel free to DM me or E-mail me at [verren.goeij@uni-jena.de](mailto:verren.goeij@uni-jena.de) ! I’d love to hear from you!

Hello! I stream mainly miniature streaming, but I'm also taking voice development lessons because I'd like to sing eventually. I'd like my streams to have a better sound quality than they do now.
My voice is quiet, and I've been told it has depth? I don't know what that means, but I'd like to give my viewers a better experience. I'm debating between these microphones that have been suggested by different people. I don't know anything about them, but I'd love to see what you experts have to say.
I stream on twitch and youtube, if that matters.
Thank you very much. :)

Here is the deal, last month I sat down to watch some streams, and bam I get hit with a 3 minute ad ok no big deal I wait till the ads where done and came back feeling like I had lost some content and the streamer ad moved on to a different topic during the ad break just felt left out of a conversation.
I then started to weigh my options. First though is I could sub to a few and get ad free viewing, made a list and it was not a financially sound way, second I could bounce my prime sub a round but I have a streak currently going and do not want to break it. Third was shady stuff but I did not want to take that route as I want streamers to get paid for their content. So I looked at twitch turbo and said why not get 7 days free and if I don’t like it I’ll move on.
The first 3 day with turbo I noticed my enjoyment of watching streams and twitch whole felt better, being able to interact with people and streamers with out feeling like I was being disconnected from important/funny moments and feeling like I got the full conversations/context that the streamer was having, is a win in my book.
Look by no means is this an ad for twitch turbo but it as increased my likability of twitch as a whole, I think if you are debating with yourself about ads turbo is the way to go. Anyways thought I would just share my opinion/experience.
Edit: I meant 3 minutes not 30 I use speech to text sorry for the confusion.

I’m trying to delete my old account with the phone number I currently use so I can use it to verify my new account.
Though I don’t remember the username or email I used for my old account. Then when I click on “I don’t know my username” it won’t go to the next page
Is there anyway to fix this?

Hello everyone, I am a newer streamer trying to find my "niche". I enjoy playing cozy games in my own time, but I like watching others play horror games on Twitch and am active in chats in some horror game communities. The past two weeks I've been playing life sims and games like Fall Guys, with which I've gotten some growth. However, after talking to some of my communities, they are wanting me to play a horror game. I'm a scaredy-cat, so I do think it will be very fun. I don't have experience with horror games outside of Phasmophobia, which I did love when it first came out. I was just curious if anyone has had better success with creating their community once they switched up the type of games they played. I have found that the horror communities I'm in are a bit more "active" than the cozy game communities are in chat, and I feel like that will help me build my community.
I added some extensions when I was playing around with twitch. I removed them but they appear as viewers in chat. Is there a way to remove them?

Payooner lets you create several Bank accounts including USA. But it says you can only receive money from business accounts or banks. Does anyone know or has used it? I'm asking this because I don't seem to find an answer if Twitch directly pays to countries like Nepal.
So this might be a dumb question, since I know Nintendo is very harsh with this stuff but... A friend of mine told me about a retro fanmade Pokemon ROM game and I got very excited. It sounded awesome, and I started thinking maybe I could stream that! Then I realized.....maybe not the smartest? I am still very new to Twitch, only had 6 streams so far, so I have a lot to learn.
Could I get in trouble for streaming a fanmade edit of a game? Does anyone have experience surrounding stuff like this and could help me out?
Thanks in advance. :)

Apologies if this is the wrong place to ask, but I'm having a fight with nightbot. I have a few silly commands that use the random word generation I learned from this reddit post: https://www.reddit.com/r/Twitch/comments/mfkrt9/some_fun_custom_nightbot_commands_for_beginners/
For the most part they work just fine, but on one of the commands, I made a typo in the pastebin, which I have edited out, but nightbot on my twitch is still acting like the change hadn't been made. I've checked several times that the edits took on pastebin, the links are correct, everything ELSE in the command works, it's just stuck on the pre-edited version.
I've tried logging in and out of nightbot dash, logging in and out of twitch, re-pasting the link, nothing works. Everything else has updated pretty much immediately when I've made edits so I don't understand what's happening. Help?
Edit: Ok, I ended up just copying the code from the pastebin into a new pastebin and linking that into the nightbot command, and now it works. Annoying that it took so long to think of it, and either way if anyone has experience with this happening and has some thoughts for the future I'd appreciate it.

Tried to stream Sonic Advance today, and for some reason when I swapped scenes, my preview would completely freeze so I couldn't tell what was happening on stream. It would also freeze when I tried to set retro arch as my window and ended up using display capture instead. How can I fix this? (I use OBS)

As the title says, whenever I try to open Twitch on Mozilla Firefox, it's just endlessly loading.
In contrast to this, the phone app and Chrome, work perfectly fine.
I've tried turning off ad-blockers, refreshing the page, opening through links and still nothing

Hi all,
I just upgraded my gaming PC and was thinking of starting to stream some of my favorite games. Then I thought how I've been playing console games for years and could stream those too? I'm a total beginner and don't hang out on Twitch a lot so I would love some suggestions. I have all my devices in one room (PC, PS5, Xbox, Switch) and was wondering if there's any way of having all of them connected somehow so I can just like flip a switch and start streaming from any console? TIA

^ context above. I started streaming a week ago, and my first follower, the only person active in chat, also the only person who's always there during my live just unfollowed, is this normal? because I am really sad and don't want to go back to streaming anymore. I can't questioning myself "am I really that ugly?" How do I cope with this?

Sometimes I use a PS5 where I stream directly off of. I made Affiliate on April 1st & yesterday I thought I’d have a PS5 stream (I can’t always use the pc) and I tried streaming twice but when I went to Monitor the stream, It was just showing the Blue Screen with the Guy? Would this have anything to do with me becoming an Affiliate or???

So I was able to claim both drops but the teacup, has anyone had this problem? I’m really confused
I’ve been on a quest lately to find the best second component for my stream.
I’ve been using Blerp and my community loves it. I’ve tried others that just didn’t work so well. (Viewer attack and stream stickers just aren’t for me, latest follower is somehow behind a paywall for proper utilization, and some of the others are just okay..)
I’ve recently landed on Ctrl+ and have really enjoyed what it offers. I like the idea of having a cross-stream poll and being able to have follow buttons for streamers in my community..
Anyway, I’ve noticed this extension also has a panel option.. I’m just wondering what other streamers do with this one-panel or component? What do you all think is best?
Any other component recommendations?

Is there a program that I can use that I can make a 2D still image that has a mouth that opens and closes whenever I talk while live-streaming?

So I have a sudden realization I'm not enjoying myself stream on my potato lap top that is about to die and don't run games, well also life stuff in the outside world and having a job has taken a toll of me so I can't focus both streaming and irl so I'm deciding to delete my account but one issues I need help. So twitch says about filling those things up so that they can proceed to removing me from affiliate so I did that
Added my channel username check. Added my ipv4 address using the link to get that, check. Added my phone number, my date of birth check. I did everything right except leaving the invoice I'd Not applicable yet I get the respond from twitch that the info I put doesn't Match
How? Why? What I'm doing wrong?
