"The European mind can not comprehend" is a stupid thing to say, but as it's a Fire Department New York ambulance, I don't think it's USdefaultism. More of a r/shitamericanssay. Unrelated, I like the joke of the patient charging 8000 dollars for the ambulance ride.

Not really tho. The European mind really can't comprehend paying 8k for a ride to the hospital 'cause we don't need to, they're not wrong and that's funny af to me. 🤣🤣🤣

It's a New York ambulance, which can be clearly seen in the photo, it is American

That's just a picture of an ambulance and the point is still made that this could happen anywhere, not just the USA. Other people also pointed that out

'There Is News' is fake anyways, but the fake article is set in NY.

The point isn’t that this story isn’t from the US, it’s that the commenter beliefs this situation is somehow unique to the US… That’s defaultism, nothing about this story means it couldn’t happen anywhere else…

It's far more just shit Americans say than defaulting imo

I agree, if I saw an image of a Swedish ambulance Id assume it happened in Sweden

It straight up has the acronym for Fire Department of New York [City] in big bold letters on the side.
Acronyms are something that gets defaulted a LOT here, but this one is probably one of the ones that's most obvious for what it stands for.
The only thing you could maybe confuse that with is New York, Ukraine.

That's an extremely American looking ambulance. Who else has monster truck looking things like this?

If a German ambulance were in the photo, and they assumed it was in the US, that would be defaultism, but with this photo 99% of people would assume it is in the US

I did not know what one looked like but I searched, and German ambulances look very nice!

As an Nordic My question is Americans pay for getting saved by an ambulance. To be honest why do I even ask America RHHH

u/Inherently_Rainbow 21h ago
They do, it's very much money too.

I really wish the mods weren't always asleep, this is OBVIOUS not defaultism:
>bot marked as safe because people don't understand what defaultism is
Incredible.

OP sent the following text as an explanation on why this is US Defaultism:
Because they guy automatically assumed this was the us even though it could've been anywhere. The picture of the ambulance is just a picture of an ambulance
Is this Defaultism? Then upvote this comment, otherwise downvote it.
