If you haven't watched the show (LOL, Last One Laughing, UK version), I thoroughly recommend it.
Can't remember the last time I laughed so hard.
10 top comedians trying real hard NOT to laugh

If curious in the US it is on Amazon Prime

Thanks for answering my question before I could ask. I must watch this immediately!

Couldn’t take the American one more than 2 episodes.

I’ve only seen a few minutes of the Aussie and Canadian versions and wow they were bad

I think it is hard to watch versions of other countries when you don't know the comedians and have no idea what to expect from them.

u/blindreefer 1h ago
I’ll buy that. Lots of countries have their own style of humor too. So maybe I’m just not getting it

There were definitely some surprises in that show - knowing Bob and Richard were in the show though I knew I immediately had to watch it.
My friend and I binged it before going to see Nish Kumar live

u/trubol 2d ago
Yeah, Bob, Richard and Sara Pascoe.
How are they not gonna laugh? You just look at Bob and you wanna laugh.
What a great format. Hopefully they'll do lots more series

It originally started as a Japanese show called Documental which is also on prime I believe, and is completely unhinged and fantastic.

I watched the Canada one and it was great. I gotta watch the UK one, I know all of these people from taskmaster and Jimmy's other panels

u/duhvorced 2d ago
What I liked about this UK season is that the humor was pretty clean compared to other seasons in other countries. All 10 of the comedians on the show were amazing, and the quality of humor stayed top-notch throughout.

Seems like a more accessible version of Documental. Less long form, at least. I'll take a look. I've heard of it before but never given it a shot, but this clip was pretty good.

My god, when Mortimer sat on that chair me and the wife lost it. Then ayoade walked back in and I nearly died from suffocation.

Should watch the Canadian one, this guy reminds me of Tom Greene. I’ll have to watch it

So did this bit make you laugh? I feel like he let it go on too long and they only started laughing in the clip almost out of pity. This is the most unfunny thing I think I've ever seen.

Joe Wilkinson is known for his deadpan, awkward delivery when talking about absurd things. I don't think this was one of his funniest bits, but yeah, he regularly makes me laugh. Sometimes with awkwardness alone - a lot of people laugh when they're uncomfortable.

Bob Mortimer wave noises. I lost it.
I was hoping he'd do just one more well timed.

Joe's many appearances on Count Down are absolutely hilarious. Such a funny guy.

Whenever I’m having a bad day I just watch his poem on cats do countdown. Maybe the funniest thing I’ve ever seen in my life.

Sean Locke in tears… “please stop” - all time.

9 out of 10 Cats does Countdown
Joe is a national treasure. Dead-pan delivery comedy gets me every time.

I have no idea what this is, but Richard Ayoade is there, so I'm in. What in the actual fuck did I just see?

Lou Sanders was the biggest surprise for me. I didn't realise she was so funny. Joe's reaction to the butt wiggle had me in stitches.

What show is this? I haven't seen this group together since Taskmaster or Countdown.

I've never seen this show before now but it reminds me of the old Comedy Central show "Make Me Laugh" good stuff here!

If Sean Lock was still around...I can just imagine him and Bob dueling it out while everyone else has no chance

I thought the unexpected bit was Joe Lycett’s body transformation… Good to see he’s been eating well.

This show is absolutely hilarious, and one big Taskmaster reunion pretty much if you're a fan!

Jimmy Carr’s face is getting hard to look at. I mean he really does not look right at all with the work he’s done.

I don't get this show. Are they giving the guest instructions to not be too funny? I know Joe is usually hilarious, but this just seems random.
2
u/merrychristmasyo 2d ago
This part was completely random, which Joe is known for. You need to watch the show to understand the context of the RNLI presentation though.
The point of the show is to make others laugh without making yourself laugh, so throughout the episodes you see the comedians back out of jokes, walk away from conversations and try to contain their smiles. That’s what makes the show, hearing random shit, whilst seeing them try to contain themselves from laughing at their own stuff.
If they laugh once, they receive a warning, but laugh twice and they are out.

The unexpected part is how thoroughly unfunny this is

u/gwaaax 2d ago
I thought maybe I was having an aneurysm since everyone on this thread is pissing their pants at how this video is so funny and I just thought it was boring and stupid. And I have a high tolerance for boring and stupid things.

u/Urschleim_in_Silicon 2d ago
I love humor and comedy and I also thought this was greatly unfunny.

Fan of 9 out of 10 cats, QI and a good chunk of the shows they all go on but I can't into this show.
I feel like a fan of Taskmaster would be into this one.

u/kaiserlaika 2d ago
Honestly it’s worth watching this show just to watch Daisy May Cooper’s insane facial contortions as she tries not to laugh.

I love how Harriet looks like she’s almost in pain. The faces they pull while trying not to smile are hilarious.

That was a pain to watch. The dude talks too slowly. Not worth the 2 minutes I spent watching it. 1/10

This video does NOTHING to boost my opinion of Jimmy Carr's sense of humor.

Last 5 years of the RNLI has been a taxi service for those who shall not be named.
19
u/Otherwise-Extreme-68 2d ago
No. They rescue people who's lives are in danger, just like every other emergency service, and rightly so. It's not theor place to discriminate or get involved in politics, the people of the RNLI risk their lives on a voluntary basis to save others, and demand far more respect than having people like you using them to make a political point.

OP sent the following text as an explanation on why this is unexpected:
The speech is largely boring until the speaker suddenly gets hit with a paint bomb at the end
