As a European I can't wait. NATO is compromised as long as comrade Krasnov with Amerika oblast is in.

well and hungary

18

u/melachingo Mar 02 '25

And Erdogan’s Turkey

15

u/heavy_metal_soldier Mar 02 '25

Turkey's kinda pro Ukraine? I mean Erdogan has been a decent supporter of zuktaine since the first few days.

6

u/melachingo Mar 02 '25

Yes, but Erdogan has also been indiscriminately bombing and arming jihadists against our ally’s in Syria for years now.

7

u/heavy_metal_soldier Mar 02 '25

Yeah, he's absolutely playing both sides.

1

u/Sandrew43 Mar 03 '25

Erdogan tends to like playing both sides to benefit him mostly, so I wouldn’t trust the guy as much as I can throw him with his support but we see in the future…

25

u/Eorel Mar 02 '25

Don't be an idiot. If the US leaves NATO, it will be much harder to get them back in later once the insanity tapers off.

Don't buy into every antagonistic bullshit bait they toss out. They want you to be polarized into saying "yeah, fine then! Leave!"

Don't do them the favor. Americans gotta vote to reclaim Congress ASAP and keep NATO strong.

71

u/p0megranate13 Mar 02 '25

USA is done for. It's lawless billionaire playground and a security leak in NATO. And it won't taper off anytime soon, if ever.

10

u/Bookworm_AF Mar 02 '25

It will taper off eventually, fascist states are simply too incompetent and unstable to survive for too long. But it probably won't happen until next decade at least, and who knows if it will taper off into something that can re-enter NATO, or if we just end up as Russia 2.0, or worse, just implode as the economy and government collapse.

8

u/morrisk1 Mar 02 '25

I'm not worried about the state. It will collapse without trump and he is old. It's Americans as a group that are desperate for this kind of state. They are the issue.

1

u/Hdikfmpw Mar 02 '25

If you wanna get played like trump that’s on you but honestly that’s a little embarrassing.

14

u/nate23401 Brigadier General 🪖🎖️ Mar 02 '25

That was hard to read. I missed the part where they lose their power and influence. 🤣

5

u/Caliburn0 Mar 02 '25

Dictatorships aren't stable. Especially this one. It started with massive instability, controversies and chaos. The people that run it are idiots, and the harder they push the more pushback they get.

All power stems from the people. All that's needed is for enough people to stop listening to them and the whole thing falls apart.

16

u/nate23401 Brigadier General 🪖🎖️ Mar 02 '25

Oh normally, that’s me saying so. I’m just thinking specifically about the wealth and the arms. This is an adversary the world has literally never seen before.

Edit: and I should also say, I like leaving as little up to God as is possible. lol

3

u/Caliburn0 Mar 02 '25

Sure, but... The soldiers on the ground are also people.

4

u/nate23401 Brigadier General 🪖🎖️ Mar 02 '25

Say more

3

u/Caliburn0 Mar 02 '25

I don't think the US could attack Canada. Or Europe for that matter. The soldiers would just refuse. The ones who wouldn't would be in such a small minority they wouldn't be a proper threat.

I'm more uncertain about Mexico, but even that one...

Also the blowback to such an attack would be insane.

u/Ok_Quarter_6929 Mar 02 '25

Dictatorships can be extremely stable. Look at Russia, North Korea, Saudi Arabia, the list goes on.

3

u/Caliburn0 Mar 02 '25

They can be stable as long as the people they're ruling over don't have any power. Russia has never been a democracy. Neither have North Korea. Or Saudi Arabia.

The history of the world is class warfare. The haves vs the have nots.

Dictatorships lasts until they don't. Of course, everything lasts until it doesn't, and clearly social democracies aren't completely stable either, which is why we need to reach beyond that.

17

u/JohnAtticus Mar 02 '25

Don't be an idiot. If the US leaves NATO, it will be much harder to get them back in later once the insanity tapers off.

Don't be an idiot.

Every single non-American on earth knows that even if you elect someone who isn't insane, we will always be 4 years away from you electing someone insane again.

Not worth trying to pursue anything with you guys anymore.

It can just blow up in smoke so quickly.

6

u/Eorel Mar 02 '25

You guys

First off, I'm not American, as my history shows.

And you are unbelievably short-sighted if you think Putin has the ability to keep conjuring high-profile assets that are bombastic enough to win presidencies election after election.

America's allies should be wary of them and put their relationship on ice for now. But leaving NATO is going to make it much harder for these relationships to get mended in the future.

Anyone who refuses to see this is just playing along to the next phase of Putin's scheme.

0

u/morrisk1 Mar 02 '25

Putin didn't conjure trump. Americans did.

1

u/NardZero 29d ago

They really ran an entire campaign including hacking and disinformation to get him elected.

-1

u/OverlyLenientJudge Mar 02 '25

Who cares? America is cooked and should not be allowed to keep existing as a single country, not when a third of its populace literally no longer believes in democracy anymore.

5

u/Eorel Mar 02 '25

"Who cares?"

Pathetic. Actually pathetic.

Defeated ass loser.

3

u/morrisk1 Mar 02 '25

The Democrats are also not exactly humanitarians either. Better for Canada and Europe, but not for a lot of other people.

8

u/idiot_speaking Mar 02 '25

This insanity is not something that tapers off. Even if there is a peaceful transfer of power to actual sane people, the insurrectionists will have to be dealt with (as traitors) if America is to be trusted - that includes Trump, the billionaire oligarchs, the sycophants installed in all branches of government, the entire fucking republican party, the media machine that made all of this possible, the right wing think tanks. You can't go back from this, there has to be a fight for a new America or it'll cough and sputter as Russia 2.0.

3

u/Eorel Mar 02 '25

So deal with all the traitors and the insurrectionists.

But do not pull the plug on things on sheer reaction.

If Trump can't find a way to leave NATO, don't make it easier for him. Let him stick around, and prepare a counteroffensive.

Maybe there's time for a Democrat Thinktank, a la Heritage Foundation, to prepare a "Project 2029" on how to fix this garbage and restore the US' relationship with allies and its position on the world stage (as well as its domestic issues).

But do not reactionarily give your enemies what they want. Stoopid.

3

u/quixote_manche Mar 02 '25

"prepare a counteroffensive"

Not something you have to do with allies, it's as if you were asking someone to stay friends with someone that Says they will stab them in the back, and tell them to just prepare for the stabbing. Lmao

"Maybe there's time for a democrat think-tank"

Don't hold your breath waiting for the Democrat party to do anything lmao

0

u/Eorel Mar 02 '25

I'm gonna need you and every other American to, on a molecular level, find some way to get incredibly excited about voting for Democrats from now on until the end of time.

Part of this journey will involve not shit-talking them every 5 seconds.

This "I am so enlightened, look at how my farts smell to the left of Joe Biden" bullshit is NOT being done on the other side. Become partisan for fuck's sake. AND STOP BREAKING RANK.

3

u/quixote_manche Mar 02 '25 edited Mar 02 '25

I'm a Puerto Rican in Puerto Rico, I'm a second class citizen that doesn't get to vote for president or Congress. That being said the Democrats literally ushered in what is happening.

-2

u/Eorel Mar 02 '25

That being said the Democrats literally ushered in what is happening.

You are weak. So unbelievably weak.

2

u/quixote_manche Mar 02 '25

How am I weak? I don't get to vote. Y'all are weak. Y'all saw what's happening and literally did not stop it.

1

u/Eorel Mar 02 '25

You are not weak for the first part of your post, but the second.

You break rank. And you will always break rank. You don't know how to stand your ground. All that the right-wing needs to win is give you details about Democrats that you don't like and you will defeat yourself.

If America is doomed, this is the reason actually - it's not that Trump won, it's not that there won't be other elections, it's that you simply don't have what it takes. Weak, unstable, fickle, advocating against those close to you because "they're almost as bad as the enemy" wasting your time and voice - the miniscule power that you have - spreading your opponents' message in your own camp.

"The Democrats ushered what is happening", he says, in a sub full of people that will read this message, get discouraged, and may be influenced not to vote as a result.

"Why vote? Dems are ineffectual. Hell, they're just as bad as Republicans (almost)! Don't even bother. It's over."

Pathetic.

u/OverlyLenientJudge Mar 02 '25

He's one of those blue maga "vote Dem no matter how egregiously they fuck us over and show that they don't care" types, clearly.

1

u/Alkezo Mar 02 '25

Stop pretending you won't push people to vote for Democrats once election season rolls around again. I swear leftist sometimes are some of the most emotional babies on the internet. Yes, Democrats suck, but they are sure of a hell of a lot better than Republicans. And trying to get a third party going without going from the ground-up local elections first is just asking for Republicans to win forever.

Do yourself a favor and shut up. I know you'll be embarrassed in 4 years for the shit you're saying. Well, chances are you'll forget and pretend you've always been pro-Democrat.

1

u/OverlyLenientJudge Mar 02 '25

Of course I'll tell people to vote for them, but that ain't gonna stop me from shitting on their incompetence for the rest of the party's existence. I have a huge, multifaceted brain, and those two concepts are unrelated. Sorry yours is too smooth to be able to do two things at once, I guess.

Not that elections are gonna fuckin matter anyhow, of course.

It maybe in Americans interest that EU sticks through with this, but it's not in EU's. They can't trust US, they can't coordinate or communicate with US, because everything will go straight to their enemy. This isn't just reaction, it's the Nash Equilibrium and it sucks for everyone except the isolationists.

Best we can hope is that a new and resilient America or whatever they will call themselves is able to join with the rest of the world, but Americans will have to go through trial by fire. Also what we need is not a think tank, that again presumes that things will go back to where they were, we need a strong grassroots movement. Please get involved in your local politics, go to town halls, screech, fight, make friends, have each others back. Voting blue is just not good enough in an oligarch. We need everyone on board.

4

u/quixote_manche Mar 02 '25

The world is not going to wait for America to get its shit together.

1

u/Eorel Mar 02 '25

Nobody said anything about waiting and I'm not addressing "the world" either.

I'm addressing the morons who think the relationship should be exacerbated from bad to "irredeemable" by acting on sheer impulse and the DELUSION that Trump will always dictate US foreign policy..

DO NOT. PUSH. FOR THE US. TO LEAVE. NATO.

THIS BENEFITS PUTIN. YOU IDIOT.

5

u/quixote_manche Mar 02 '25

You were addressing OP, who is not American. The only ones pushing for the US to leave is the US. Putin is already benefiting through our government and our soon to be ex allies already figured out we can't be trusted anymore. Because even though Trump will not be in power after this term. The whole Republican apparatus will still be there. The rest of the world is not going to want to trust every 4 years for Americans to make the right choice. When we've already made the wrong choice not once, but twice.

2

u/morrisk1 Mar 02 '25

It's not tapering off. Trump is doing gestures broadly while the main opposition party is willing to let the country burn if it kills one extra Palestinian baby. The rest of us need to take care of each other.

1

u/Eorel Mar 02 '25

the main opposition party is willing to let the country burn if it kills one extra Palestinian baby

What the fuck are you talking about?

2

u/morrisk1 Mar 02 '25

The Democrats. There are only really the two parties, I assumed you would know.

1

u/Eorel Mar 02 '25

All the pro-Palestine politicians are Democrats. Literally all of them.

Do you always spread propaganda to dissuade voting against fascists, or is it a Sunday thing for you?

1

u/morrisk1 Mar 02 '25

Your country will not fix itself unless you reconcile with what actually happened.

1

u/Eorel Mar 02 '25

You have no idea what my country is.

I am starting to suspect yours. Da?

1

u/morrisk1 Mar 02 '25

Based on the Da, I'm assuming you are American, and I'm Canadian. The country you are currently threatening to annex. One of several anyway.

I know it's hard but I, and everyone outside of the USA, would like you all to put less effort into congratulating yourselves for being better than MAGA (herculean task as I'm sure that was), and fix your own face. Your country is morphing into another Russia, oligarchs and all, because of your culture and not because of one man being a narcissistic spray tanned ape.

3

u/Eorel Mar 02 '25

I am not American. And by this I mean, I do not live in either of the American continents, period.

I live in one of the European countries that are being shafted as a result of TRUMP'S foreign policy.

And the "Da" has a different context, based on how you want to equivocate two parties that are NOTHING alike, to dissuade people from voting for the Democrats. Comrade.

You want America to fix their shit? #1 thing to do is NOT go around in Democrat-leaning sub with bullshit like "both parties suck, both bad, there is nothing to do, it's all over, everyone should just give up".

Stop fostering defeatism.

Ok but even for the fascists Nato is an amazing tool! It’s the most cost effective way to keep Europe under American Hegemony, this is why none of this makes any sense.

18

u/DirtTraditional8222 Mar 02 '25 edited Mar 02 '25

They don’t want American hegemony anymore. They want oligarchs in the US and oligarchs in Russia and oligarchs in any other country they make corrupt deals with to have all the hegemony

6

u/Uriah_Blacke Mar 02 '25

International capital strikes again

7

u/ChineseCracker Mar 02 '25

To be fair, Trump tweets all kinds of shit all the time. Doesn't mean they always happen

7

u/Tokyo_Cat Mar 02 '25

That'd take an act of congress. The president cannot unilaterally withdraw from NATO. Would take an act of congress. What does concern me, though, is just the president refusing to honor article 5 if a state is attacked.

10

u/S0uth_0f_N0where Mar 02 '25

The real question is who stops him if he does it anyway? He's already been on a lawless spree, and nobody has done anything to prevent it.

6

u/uzlonewolf Mar 02 '25

That hasn't stopped him from just going ahead and doing other things that required an act of Congress. Why do you think this would be any different?

1

u/fart_huffington Mar 02 '25

I agree but lol at the sentence "the president is tweeting it. It’s gonna happen."

My mom works at UNHCR. According to her, people in the UN are not prepared for the actual ramifications of US leaving. They are afraid of loosing US finding, which, okay, it will happen either way, but if US leaves the UN the actual fallout would be immense. The world order, which has already been undermined in major ways, will be completely deconstructed.

I'm sorry, I wouldn't so quickly accept the US back in NATO or UN even after orange man goes away. I simply don't have faith that the institutions of the US can prevent another demagogue from rising to power and doing it all over again.

5

u/Juhzor OKBV will not forget being forgotten... Mar 02 '25

Yeah, if the United States decides to leave, it should not be enough that the country elects some liberal after Trump. Who's to say that person isn't out of office in four years and replaced by some other unreliable madman? There needs to be some long term consequences for treating your allies like garbage. There needs to be some sense of continuous reliability, not this flip-flopping every four years.

4

u/RoabeArt Mar 02 '25

When Bush II screwed international relations back in 2003 with the Iraq war, I thought we wouldn't be welcome abroad anywhere again. Then a few years later Obama was elected and things seemed to be patched up. Even during Trump's first term as well as during Biden.

Now Trump has fucked things up so badly so quickly barely a month into his second term, that I don't think there's any coming back from this.

3

u/null0x Mar 02 '25

I don't think they're welcome back. They've proven unstable and untrustworthy. How long until they elect another Trump?

Trust is earned, I don't know how a nation regains that but I suppose a good example would be Germany.

2

u/OverlyLenientJudge Mar 02 '25

No, no, none of this soft-handed bullshit. You need to kick us while we're down and you kick us hard. It is the rest of the world's job to treat this country like a fucking joke, like a fatter, uncivilized North Korea.

80

u/KineticSplicer Mar 02 '25

Aren't we accelerationist now? So that means we should see this as an absolute win!

11

Maybe, but it sure is scary when this bus is going this fast.

71

u/retrostaticshock Mar 02 '25

The DPRK has been a member of the UN since '91. We'd be joining the elite ranks of such countries as...

*checks notes*

Kosovo. Somaliland, and Western Sahara.

Considering how bad our economy is going to sink when the full weight of these tariffs get going, honestly, it suits the "Warlord driving a Toyota Hilux with rebels in the back" motif.

38

u/Proud_Fox_684 Mar 02 '25

Kosovo is not a member because Russia keeps vetoing it's membership at the U.N.S.C

27

u/Normal-Stick6437 Mar 02 '25

Also, Kosovo is staunchest US ally in the Balkans. Relatively young country, they are improving slowly but surely. I dont understand OOPs mockery

14

u/Proud_Fox_684 Mar 02 '25

Exactly. It's a free country. Humanitarian, pro EU, progressive, and people can live however they want. Whether it's LGTBQ, women's rights or religious people. Many Jews have said they also feel very welcome.

11

u/TearsFallWithoutTain Mar 02 '25

I mean it's not like they're that progressive, gay marriage is still banned, gay couples can't adopt children or donate blood etc.

15

u/-Yehoria- UN stands for Ukrainian Nationalism Mar 02 '25

Strike out Kosovo, they are trying to join and are nothing like the others. Replace them with Russia's puppet separatists such as Transnistria.

44

Because soft power helps the country as a whole, while destroying the country and looting it gives them more. And giving more legitimacy to international organizations that value democracy and liberalism is antithetical to fascist goals. They want a new world order of might makes right, where law protects the rich but constrains the poor.

16

u/bascal133 Mar 02 '25

It’s only a matter of time now, we will leave. Europe is already preparing which they should be but in the future Russia is going to invade Ukraine again and China is going to invade Taiwan and it’s going to be a free-for-all hopefully though Europe will respond with a lot of force and support and basically just take our place.

7

u/S0uth_0f_N0where Mar 02 '25

France does still have a nuclear strike force, which could potentially hold things back. I think they have a full triad, plus, they have a pretty solid arms industry. Took 2 world wars, but they know better than to rely on others for help. Plus prevailing winds would carry fallout eastward towards the bulk of urban Russia, so they'd be legitimately dumb to try triggering a nuclear conflict.

I sure hope this will happen, but it won't. NATO is a central part of US imperialism and just because Elon is too stupid to understand this, the security community won't dismantle US reach any time soon.

It would be really funny if the US were to leave the UN and that meant that the resolution against the Cuban embargo finally passes

I guess we'll see how much pull he really has over foreign policy.

It seems so far that Trump has been given the international community to terrorize at his leisure while Elon acts as a quasi-dictator domestically. Is domestic control no longer enough for the ketamine emperor?
