PATCH Heard we're posting logo coverups? Here's one I did a while ago on a jacket
The color matching was a pain in the ass but I love how the borderless look turned out. Also please excuse the cat hair lol, my boy is shedding like crazy with the seasons changing

Dammit! I really am gong to have to get a speedweave. I buy a lot of corporate-branded merino clothes, and mostly the brands are hidden under other layers, or I don't care (function over fashion). Sometimes though the branding is visible, and I'd like that to not be the case
Your pattern really gives me an idea for coverage... barcodes, test patterns etc. Thank you!

Oh this isn't darning or anything, I am not patient enough to make a darn job look so pretty lol. It's a cross stitched patch that I glued on
I'm also tempted to get a speedweve myself though haha. Glad to provide inspiration either way!

I recommend worthmending.com they make darning looms out of reclaimed wood and recycled bicycle spokes and have a few options.

You can generate any kind of barcode you want for free online.
Upc-e is the shorter 7 or 8 digit format. Upc-a is the longer 11 or 12 digit one. I figure Upc-e is most practical for this purpose.
Could be fun! UPC barcode use four different widths of spaces and bars. So when deciphering how to stitch it, you can sort the bars and spaces relative to each other into four different options, and then just use that to make them decipherable. Even if they don't scan, you can still make them decodable to the human eye this way. So it's a legitimate Easter egg somebody could figure out on their own.
That's my idea of fun and cool, personally.

This is so much cooler than all the time I spent picking out the embroidered company logo on my favorite jean jacket!!

What was the method for making the cover? Looks very tight and very even and I'm curious what you used to make that.

Cross stitch! 2 strands on 18ct aida, finished as a patch, then I just glued it on top

So cool! How did you keep the edges of the Aida from fraying?

Whip stitch around the edge! I actually made a tutorial on cross stitch patches a while ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/CrossStitch/s/K6avHO8MqU
My method hasn't really changed, besides the fact that for this one I skipped out on iron-on adhesive and just used fabric glue directly on the jacket

Oooh this reminds me of that cool glitched arcade font someone made a pattern for, maybe you like that one too :D

Love this idea. I get lots of vendor swag at conferences and hate the logos but also hate it going to waste.

This is awesome! Iโve been trying to think of something to cover up the logo on my old tv news crew jacket. This would be perfect.

As someone who has worked in television for 40 years, your color match is almost perfect! Nice job.
