MIXED METHODS some of my mends throughout the years

been wanting to show some of my mends (the one i found closer to me) - the green socks are/were my bf favourite and he thinks ive thrown them away after the last mend (ik theyre a lost cause, im gonna repair them again just for love, masochism, and because i have free will and this is better than biting people in the street, right?) and im gonna surprise him with them…sooner or later lol i’ve had the green pants for 12years, or as i like to say: they did more than 20000km of cycling with me. ill never throw them away, but now i just call them my project lol - they were also the first thing i repaired by myself (not counting stuff like buttons and such) all the rest is just normal everyday stuff - with the jeans i wanted something visible and hidden at the same time so i went with black sashiko which stays pretty hidden in the crotch but i can shows it off when i dont wear them.

my ex gf thought me how to repair stuff and it’s one of the many things i’ll never thank her enough for. we really are a museum of memory and love.

Good work! How well does the blanket stitch hold up on stretchy/ribbed cuffs? I've been wanting to try this. Do you need to use stretchy thread?

thats a little experiment! i didnt know about this sub and i was too lazy to look up the best way to repair cuffs so i tried that - its not like it was super damaged. it’s actually not a stretchy cuff tho, it’s wool, pretty old and badly washed several times it seems (came from my bf’s uncle) so its as rigid as it could be. if you try it on a stretchy cuff id love to know how it goes, i have a bunch that could use a little help…
