Sorry to be ignorant but what does "hyperflaked my headphones" mean?

It just means flaked but more extreme :) like basically all the soft coating is flaked off at this point, only some at the seems remain.

I think they just picked all the flakes off

You'll have to let us know how the stitching holds up! Maybe for round two I would think knitting cups to fit over the whole headphone would be easier, something like this? https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/headset-ear-covers

Very clever solution!

I've actually crocheted cups for mine!

..is.. is that a hot dog?

I was staring at the picture confused for a while. The padding on the head part is red and yeah kinda looks like a hotdog. But rest assured, I am not using meat as padding. It's the original fabric.

Quick, post to /r/forbiddensnacks for extra karma!

I'm already getting anxiety seeing so many people looking at something I posted. I hope the person I got the idea from isn't mad. I wasn't trying to imply this was an original thing.

I actually just fixed this problem on my headphones, and I have a suggestion for anyone experiencing flaking pleather!

Leather paint!

I sanded off all the remaining pleather coating, and then started painting on layers of the leather paint. The result doesn't have as smooth of a texture as the original pleather texture (the leather paint bottle suggests a leather paint primer), but it is still comfortable to the touch, and has no more annoying flaking.

That's cool. I had no idea that existed.

Me neither until I randomly googled for solutions! It's also pretty cheap, and a little goes a long way. Also, the one I got came with a brush in the cap, so no worries if you don't have brushes.

I'm not into "feet". I just like to point out feet in pics! LOL

I had never thought about this, such a great idea! Thanks OP!

Wow that's a really creative solution, probably pretty cozy too !

I really like the idea of this though, I think it would be really cool to see headsets with some sort of knitted ear pads. I don't know if you were the first to do this, but you might be onto something !

I bought new covers for my Bose headphones (I’ve had them for 7 years) but this looks so cozy and comfortable! Kind of wish I had some knit covers now
