Discussion Should Cunha start next match now ban has ended?

So as Cunha’s ban comes to an end, the simple question does he start the next game?

IMO no, why change a winning team, given the way this could have gone (by that I mean proper south and us be in serious relegation trouble) he doesn’t deserve to and needs to earn it again. Also the question of prepping for next year in the assumption he’s off

Who do you see as the imminent cuhna replacement

Not sure if we have been linked with anyone, but want to here you guy's thoughts on a potential replacement. obviously please keep it realistic no kdb shouts or anything along thise lines. Personally would love an Englishman someone like an angel gomes or smith-rowe however I dont see these as realistic replacements Or do we think we don't reinvest due to fosun?

Discussion Joao Gomes

With Cunha sidelined and RAN playing a bit more passively, we need someone who can slice thru the field and carry into dangerous areas.

I am so so impressed with how Joao has stepped up in recent times in this regard. I feel like last year and for most of this year he was amazing in the midfield for his physicality and aggression, but he has grown so much and is such a multi faceted player now.

He’s recently given me that same edge of my seat feeling as cunha does when he turns and carries thru the middle of the field. What a gem im so thrilled he just signed a fresh contract. UTW!!

Discussion Thrilled with vitor pereira but don't munetsi very underwhelming

Now obviously I'm no manager like the rest of us, but I've been extremely disappointed with munets,i I love the idea of a midfielder playing that high pressing the back line. but unfortunately i don't think he's the man for the job, like many other wolves fans, I'm a huge fan of Tommy Doyle and think he would take to that role far better, and give more of an offensive presence with a higher work rate. Would love to hear your thoughts on this

But any way big result today and a well deserved 3 points coyw🧡🐺

Ipswich predictions

Looks like Guedes and Rodrigo will be back, but I don’t think we’ll change lineup.

Sa; Doc, Agba, Toti; Semedo, Andre, Joao, RAN; JRB, Munetsi; Larsen

Kinda looking forward to the Agba/Delap battle, should be less bounced around than we were in the reverse. Larsen’s hit a good run of form and I see him scoring again here, we should dominate possession. My only doubt is fitness and how well we press after a physical game on Tuesday, but I’m hoping we’ll be okay (I can see things being heated after what happened in the reverse). 2-0 win

What are your realistic goals in the next few years for the club?

The future of the club has been on my mind a lot lately. I regularly find myself questioning my expectations. Of course, with Jeff Shi and Fosun being wild cards season to season, I believe we can re-establish ourselves as a solid mid-table team and build from there.

2025/26: I’d like to see us consistently battling for 9th–12th place, without ever being in a relegation fight. Allow VP to truly implement his style of play and bring in the kind of player he believes will succeed. A lot of the business we have done in the last year has been for the future, so hopefully we begin to see some of that pay off.

2026/27: I have a feeling that Matheus Mané will be a special player for us in the future. By his age-18 season, I’m hoping he’ll start getting some first-team minutes in cup matches—maybe even a few Premier League starts if things really take off. 8th-10th is my realistic aim for this season.

2027/28: By this stage, I’d like to imagine that Mané, João Gomes, and possibly André are three of our key players, with individuals like Rodrigo Gomes, Nasser Djiga, and hopefully another young player forming part of a strong supporting cast. This is the season I really hope we’re challenging for Europe and giving the traditional Big Six a proper run for their money.

Hopefully, I'm not being too ambitious at this stage, but even our current squad is far too good for our league standing. With the right additions in the summer, we could be right in the thick of it once again.

What do we need to challenge for Europe?

Asked this question under O’Neill & interested to see if opinions have changed.

So anything & everything? What do we need to start getting into the conversation for European challengers & progressing in these tournaments.

My opinion top to bottom.

Owners - would be an easy shout to say change them, but these same owners have had us in Europe before & have the best record of keeping us in the prem. So I just want them to act like they used to. We’re back with a Portuguese manager & Uncle Jorge has been linked with us again, so maybe this shift is happening already.

Investment - Self sustaining is only possible for us if we’re in European competition. We lose money even when we make massive transfer profits as a struggling PL side. We need to be in Europe to showcase our young talent to sell for bigger profits, to be a bigger attraction for that young talent & to get the funds that European competition brings. Scratching a living in the PL is a fools errand, I hope someone in the board of directors can convince the people with the money to do this.

Time - realistically we need to build the squad over another 2 seasons minimum to be more than a flash in the pan.

Vibe - We need to feel like we’re trying to push on. Gary O’Neill actually created that in 2023/24 season, but Shi was talking about 17th being good enough. We need to cut that shit out right now & start acting like we’re here with intent. That will feed into the players & any potential signings too.

Directors - I find Hobbs as Sporting Director a bit much, I think he’s good with transfers but too slow, so I assume we need a Director of Football or some other position to give Shi even less involvement & Hobbs more time to do what we as fans want him to.

Transfer funds - Hard to put a figure on it. But we need to see the transfer window as an opportunity to improve, not make money.

Squad - We have 4 players (JSL,Cunha,Andre,Joao Gomes) who are ready for Europe but we have probably 9/10 (RAN, JRB, Agba, Mosquera, R.Gomes, Toti, Doyle, Muntesi, Doyle, Bouba?) that would be competent in Europe or have enough potential you’d expect them to be alright. Then we have some glaring weaknesses & players aging out (Doc, Semedo, Sa). We also have an unfilled Homegrown squad place. So that’s 11/12 new signings in the squad (or youth to come through eg Lima) & we need to form the spine of being Top 7 PL quality.

Key positions being GK, CB (Ball Player), Creative Attacker (Inside Forward/10/Attacking Mid whatever we wanna call it), LWB (More reliable than RAN defensively) CB - One of Toti/Mosquera needs improving on for us to be good in defence, not just do enough.

Some Neves/Coady regen, leader loves the club type for the fans to get behind & to set standards in the dressing room.

Noticible lack of depth Behind Andre Behind JSL

Some players might already be here lurking in the U21/U18 like Meupiyou & Mane.

Manager - This 3-4-3 is great for us, but we’ve been vulnerable against 3 man midfields overrunning our midfield, so a plan B would be beneficial for us, especially for us to pick up points in the league against better teams & to compete in Europe we need more diversity in our play.

Kit - Better dust off that red & green colour scheme for the away kit. And we should be keeping the purple for as long as we’re undefeated in it! Also our next sponsor needs to be either tyres, booze, cars or crisps for us to be taken seriously by the European market!
