A $20m loan to keep Space X going in 2008 came from the venture capitalists that helped oust him from PayPal. It led to a $1.8 billion deal with NASA.

Two scenarios:
Elon Musk is an idiot who somehow cherry-picked a few brilliant engineers to save Tesla from the brink of bankruptcy to then revolutionize the EV industry while cherry-picking another group of brilliant engineers who built SpaceX from the ground up. Despite his stupidity, these companies emerged as the best in their respective industries. Elon, being the only human to lead two separate companies in two entirely separate industries to market caps >300B is simply lucky.
Elon is actually very intelligent (not super genius), with an extreme work ethic, while collaborating with a lot of other maybe more brilliant engineers to revolutionize two separate industries nearly simultaneously against tremendous odds.
One of these scenarios is so absurd that only people driven by extreme polical bias think it sounds plausible.

You're assuming that's the video I was referring to? It is not the video I was referring to. You're quoting a source that is quoting something she once said. I'm referring to two different videos that I have seen. One where she says it herself and another where she is on stage being praised by a Somalian politician as he says that she is not for the people of America but rather the people of Somalia as the people cheered and she accepted the praise with a smile.

He has a degree in economics? Why did he pay $45 Billion for a ~37 Billion company? Why did he lose 70% of the company’s value in a few months? Why did he fire people he needed to rehire?
If he has a degree in economics why doesn’t he understand that saving 2 months of payroll isn’t worth destroying enterprise value? Does he just have a shitty economics degree? My absolute worst intern would’ve managed both the twitter acquisition and whatever the fuck he’s doing at DOGE, outperforming him at 20X. Fuck my admin would outperform him at both.
These aren’t just brain fart mistakes, some of this shit is more analogous to eating your foot because you’re hungry and can’t be bothered to walk to the fully stocked kitchen. He does not appear to be a smart person by the available evidence.

The list is long as fuck bro. It would exceed the character limit. The best thing I can say about Musk is he had amazing timing in a tech startup and got a bunch of appreciation on TSLA because of self-driving speculation that it doesn’t appear he can deliver on.
I’m 10 times smarter than he, I have better degrees than he, I’ve gone farther financially from where I started than he. I’ve had a career at firms he isn’t qualified to work at, and left them to be more successful.
But why are we talking about me? Why aren’t we talking about how pathetic it is that’s you ride the, reportedly broken dick, of a dude that might have a 110 IQ? That’s kinda stupid don’t you think? Actually it appears you don’t think.

Mine? A Muslim-led town in her state banned the pride flag, and she said we need to be understanding while building a bridge to change their views. This is a town where young people were regularly harassing gays and ranting about f****** in the streets. I don't think she would have had the same reaction if it wasn't a Muslim-led town.

I’m an air traffic controller with 25 years of experience in the profession. So to start off with you’re right not one controller has been fired, but the people that fix our old broken equipment have been. The 50,000 FAA employees number isn’t accurate as it relates to this conversation.
There are approximately 10,500 controllers in the United States that work for the FAA, and that is drastically understaffed, we’re supposed to have somewhere around 16,000. The Tech-Ops people that fix the broken shit are at about 70% staffing as well and need people.
The problem with controllers is it takes a long time to get trained and certified at your facility 3 years on average. Sometimes less like 1-2 at a slow tower somewhere or closer to 5 and a big center. Our attrition rate is higher than the hiring rate, and a massive amount of new hires never make it thru training. It’s exhausting, extremely stressful, and mentally difficult work.
For the close to 3 decades I’ve been a controller the FAA has had a staffing problem. It’s gotten drastically worse over the last 10 years. Most controllers are working mandatory 6 day work weeks and 10 hour shifts, and we’ve been doing it for years. We’re burnt the fuck out, never see our families or friends, and we’ve sacrificed everything for the flying public.
Now in addition to everything else going on we have to email DOGE people every week and tell them what we accomplished last week, and in about 2 weeks when the government shuts down we get to go do this high stress chess game for I.O.U.’s because we aren’t getting paychecks.
First the first time in my career after the last couple years of seeing colleagues kill themselves, the look of constant exhaustion on my peers faces, and the day in and day out of working skeleton crews moving jets around some of the busiest airspace in the world I’m pretty fucking nervous to get on a plane myself.
Air traffic control is in a really bad fucking spot right now.

Elon built his billions off of Tesla and then proceeded to grift toward conservatives and who are the polar opposites of Tesla's demographic, and now Tesla is fucking tanking.
Elon bought Twitter, a company worth less than $10 billion and bought it for almost $45 billion.
Elon saw investors leaving Twitter because of his more lax and unrestrained terms of services and told them to go fuck themselves and then sued them.
And now he's genuinely confused why so many people are hating him and calling him a Nazi when he literally Seig heils twice onstage and then supports far right parties immediately afterwards. Then proceeds to fire hundreds of workers despite never being elected and not knowing who he's actually firing (like when they accidentally fired security for America's nuclear arsenal and tried to rehire them).
So yes, this and so many more examples should teach you that Musk is a very stupid person who got lucky.
