When you screw up so bad, your supporters and puppets say it must be part of his plan. This dude Homer Simpsons his way through life and they all applaud.

We all just look like Frank Grimes, screaming this isn't fair or normal!

If you've been conditioned to believe God works in mysterious ways then it's only reasonable to follow the same logic when your deity of a president does something you don't understand.

Good thing he’s not at all impulsive and senile like the last guy.

If you check out the conservative subs they're mostly saying "we don't get why he's doing this. There must be a reason" but still mostly unable to admit "maybe I voted for a vindictive man child who makes decisions on the whims of his tantrums" lol

But hey, progress is progress.

u/mrkingkoala 21d ago

Art of the deal fellas. Their underdeveloped mammalian brains can't work out that man is clueless. Trump could ask them to eat their own shit and they would thank him.

u/Lonely-Internet-7565 23d ago

This is as regarded as the RC cult on SuperSt**k

1

u/armchairwarrior42069 22d ago

I genuinely have no idea what you've just said to me.

Can you rephrase that? I'm just actually lost.

I think you meant "retarded", like you want to use the word but chose to censor it for yourself. I have no idea what RC cult or "superst**k" means though 🤷

u/Handsaretide 23d ago

Trump is literally talking about how the coming recession is good because 100 years from now the economy will be thriving.

Even his wildest supporters wont push that propaganda.

u/misfit_too 24d ago

r/conservative is getting more annoyed too

u/Cowskiers 24d ago

To be fair its always seemed to me to be a about a 50/50 split there between diehard trumpservatives and trump skeptical old school conservatives. Except now when I checked it out today even the trumpers were complaining about this year's shit salad so far

u/InitialPsychology731 24d ago edited 24d ago

Yea, it's mostly the people with 'MAGA' as a flair that would like to invade Canada and Greenland this very second.

Nearly everyone there has a huge victim complex though, acting like they're a threatened species and everyone with a slightly different opinion is either a bot or a radical antifa far-left brigadier.

9

u/johnny_51N5 24d ago

I doubt how many are actual people, a LOT seem to be pushing russian talking points and pushing for things Russia would love to see, like invading Greenland and Canada, and leaving Nato, while sure others are Trump or die. The mods are also censoring a lot lol or sort by controversial if daddy Trump gets too much criticism like they did with the Zelensky press conference or wtf that shitshow was.

5

u/armchairwarrior42069 23d ago

Bots + propaganda spoon fed from propaganda echo chambers funded by Russia lol

1

u/DelphiTsar 23d ago

Propaganda usually plucks at sentiment that already exists and just amplifies it, and lets rubes snowball it.

1

u/tyler2114 23d ago

A lot of the real people who disagree with them have been banned since even looking the wrong way at their orange messiah will get you perma banned

6

u/Optimal-Hedgehog-546 24d ago

It's only March too

5

u/WhiteHornedStar 24d ago

I'm still surprised because it's an ecochamber that bans all dissidents

2

u/thememanss 24d ago

The current narrative is that this was going to happen anyway, and this will somehow be worth it in short order.  Just Trump fixing Biden's mess or some such.

1

u/BurnedOutTriton 23d ago

You can see the split but it's meaningless to me. They all think Trump is better than any Democrat.

15

u/Known-Historian7277 24d ago

That sub is pure cringe

6

u/JROXZ 24d ago

Ah yes. You found reddits rectal wart of a sub.

3

u/Altruistic_Worker748 23d ago

That place is a massive coping echo chamber, it's full of people who look in the mirror and just lie to themselves. "flared users only" They can't accept anyone else having a different opinion

1

u/misfit_too 23d ago

They have the audacity or ignorance of their own echo chamber to have comments like “see we can reflect on Trump bu libs are don’t say anything”. I can’t even post there lol

2

u/satireplusplus 24d ago

Some critical thinking going on in r/conservative of all places... who would have thought?

https://www.reddit.com/r/Conservative/comments/1j8w4ie/donald_trump_doubles_down_and_declares_he_will/

6

u/AutisticFingerBang 24d ago

Doesn’t matter they’ll still cuck for him. He could take all their money, all their parents social security and all their grandparents healthcare and they couldn’t care less. I’ve learned the underlying fundamental difference is maga lacks empathy. They just don’t give a fuck about anyone. Including themselves if it makes them feel right.

4

u/joelene1892 23d ago

There’s a comment in there about how Trump is doing this to Canada to make a nationalist swing and nationalists lean conservative so we elect a conservative government — lmao what. It’s literally the exact opposite. Before Trump became president, the chance of us electing a conservative majority was literally 99%. It’s dropped to 32% since. It’s still dropping. Trump has been poison for the conservative campaign. We might even end up with a liberal government and that would have been nearly impossible 2 months ago.

3

u/SilverSarge19 23d ago

Not only is this true but even Alberta is taking. Along hard look at the conservatives. The Maple MAGAs are a very small majority, vocal and obnoxious, but small.

1

u/canad1anbacon 21d ago

Nationalism in Canada is actually a left wing thing

2

u/HalfDouble3659 23d ago

Tons of comments deleted, they are such pussies

1

u/satireplusplus 23d ago

They usually only have 'flaired users only', so anything else gets deleted automatically.

1

u/Narradisall 24d ago

Bless. I mean they’ll still vote on the party line but at least some of them may realise they’re being robbed by the guy they’ll still support regardless.

1

u/HalfDouble3659 23d ago

They are coping so hard “poll shows Americans are feeling good about the economy” like stfu “feeling” doesnt mean shit. Thats how you know they dont actually think they just go based off feeling

1

u/OneKup- 21d ago

Holy shit !!! First time visiting that sub. Spent around 3-4 mins browsing and felt like I was getting dumber by the second. How do some of those people function on a daily basis? The delusion runs DEEP.

u/Ok_Time_8815 24d ago

And that's the neat part... You wont

27

u/automaton11 24d ago

Im convinced whats happening is him or elon or both short a given stock, then he announces the tarrif. Then they wait until the option expires and he recinds it. Rinse repeat remove money from the country and pocket it

13

u/mkhaytman 24d ago

More like he tells other people about his plans so they can make money from it, and now they owe him favors, which he in turn will use to make money. Essentially the same thing but gives him a tiny bit of plausible deniability.

6

u/NYGiants181 24d ago

Thats a pretty scary thought honestly..

1

u/ShortsAndLadders 23d ago

This was my thought with Tesla. It’s like he’s deliberately fucking up so he can short his own company. Makes sense too since even at its current price, it’s still overvalued as fuck.

9

u/Null_Singularity_0 24d ago

Weird how insanely fucking stupid they are.

Tariffs can create jobs. Key word, can. They are not guaranteed to work. It’s all dependent on how the company or country on the receiving end will handle them. If they just transfer costs down the chain, then it will do nothing. If they choose to try and keep their prices competitive, then they will bring their manufacturing to America. Or, in terms of a country, Columbia being a good example. Getting them to do something by threatening tariffs and then removing them when they comply, that is indeed what you could call the art of the deal.

Now if the tariff gets removed because it’s failed to get the company or country to do as desired, then that isn’t art of the deal. No deal was made, and nothing really changed.

3

u/Deck_of_Cards_04 23d ago edited 23d ago

Tariffs can work when used as a scalpel.

To increase the competitiveness of local industry and give foreign industry a disadvantage. Ideally you want to combine tariffs with methods of supporting local industry (subsidies, tax breaks, etc.) so that they can outcompete foreign industry. In a perfect world the assisted industry would eventually develop to the point it can compete on its own and tariffs / subsidies can be slowly dropped

Blanket tariffs are a hammer, they don’t accomplish anything without breaking a lot of stuff as well.

Tariffing stuff without doing anything to actually build up domestic industry is just going to hurt the economy and raise prices for no gain.

2

u/Fun_Strategy2369 23d ago

Fair. Well said!

1

u/ArugulaMuch 24d ago

Tariffs can create jobs. Key word, can

the only job Tariffs can create (Key word, can🤪) is forcing ppl living minimum wage to work multiple jobs.

1

u/DelphiTsar 23d ago

The real metric should be if the jobs/internal profit tax created spurs enough economic activity to offset the population having to pay higher prices.

Almost always the answer is no. You help a very small set of people and hurt everyone else much more. Even other US jobs. If you buy your widget for 20% more and pass that cost to consumers, that consumer can't use that money to buy goods/services in the US.

IMHO if you think there is a national security risk, or you want an industry active for whatever reason you just let the public sector innovate or die. And when it files for bankruptcy US can buy it for pennies on the dollar and keep it running at whatever level it deems necessary non profit.

Let Chinese cars in tarrif free. If Ford dies just buy it and retool everything to make ford fusions(Whatever the equivalent Truck/SUV is). Make X a year, sell at a mild loss if you have to (Basically how it works at a society level anyway). Everyone is much better off, and you still keep US production going.

The current Tarrif on Chinese electric cars is 100%, it's absurd.

1

u/Fun_Strategy2369 23d ago

I do like your take on it. Thanks for the reply!

3

u/mrfreezeyourgirl 24d ago

I don't care. Let me know where the dust settles.

2

u/Opposite-Ad1051 24d ago

Imagine if real estate agents ran global politics. We would be fucked. Trumps realising being a shifty real estate agents is just the lowest form of sales and humanity in general

2

u/JoroFIN 23d ago

^Donald just likes the red color.

1

u/maxiderm 23d ago

I think you are onto something. The red ties and red maga hats he wears, making decisions that keep stocks red... Coincidence??? Cant be...

1

u/Professional_Pen4123 24d ago

If he would. Just either stick with one way or another and let it play out and see what happens ...... I do believe they're trying to get him to react by crashing the market if you notice most of the sales are coming from overseas Or foreign investors domestic investors are holding pat diamond hand baby

1

u/DelphiTsar 23d ago

The market was redlining every stat that indicates the value of a stock. (Stocks were absurdly overpriced). What's happened so far isn't even a fraction of what would be needed to get to historical median levels.

There isn't a cabal trying to lower stocks. Their valuations were speculative and frankly absurd. Global domination(unrelestic competitors wouldn't pop up) and absurd global growth (every major economy would have to have perfect growth conditions).

1

u/calgary_db 24d ago

So there are some key dates, April 2nd, because general tariffs.

Then July 17. When the book cooking ends.

1

u/DelphiTsar 23d ago

My $$ is on June 17.

1

u/Any_Mud_1628 24d ago

He's a very stable genius

1

u/M3r0vingio 24d ago

If put tariffs for every time him say going to activate tariffs can save Tesla from the end.

1

u/yldf 24d ago

It’s called the circle of life…

1

u/CALLMECR0WN 24d ago

-4 trillion

1

u/Partyatmyplace13 24d ago

Maybe he's confused the market with the trade deficit that he's been widening.

1

u/millioneuro 24d ago

And he is adding up all deals and created jobs, big results on the bottom line!

1

u/Yabrosif13 24d ago

“Art of the deal” people acting like the bad deals being renegotiated werent already renegotiated by Trump last time.

1

u/SellJolly6964 24d ago

Are they like cows or more like sheap?! Hum... can't decide🤔

1

u/DelphiTsar 23d ago

The meme is that he's actually removing/delaying a decent chunk of the tarrifs(He's not).

1

u/W4OPR 23d ago

Is that already Trump only comprehends 12d Chess

1

u/HawaiianTex 22d ago

So, you're saying Trump is reacting when a country caves....We definitely appreciate a President who does something for our nation besides flood it with criminals from other countries.

1

u/stopitkeval 18d ago

Is the guy with the hat JD?

1

All my money has been in gold. I’m doing fine.

-1

u/FineNeighborhood3354 23d ago edited 23d ago

What's up with all the hate in this sub just let the process move

3

u/Schnurks 23d ago

What process lmao

1

u/FineNeighborhood3354 23d ago

Tarrifs imposed by other countries will cause the market to drop but after time when companies have time to adjust equities will recover. This is nothing new.

2

u/Schnurks 23d ago

Years later when they reopen steel and aluminum mills? When there’s no electricity?

He campaigned on making life more affordable for Americans and then fired everyone and jacked up prices. One day you’ll stop getting had.
