From the party that brought you “Look how great the stock market is doing, it’s pricing in a Trump victory”, comes “the stock market is not a good indicator of the economy and is not Trumps fault at all”.
It's hilarious how the claimed that the increase at the tail-end of Biden's term was 100% due to investors being confident in Trump's vision for America, and the massive slide since Trump's first day is now "because Biden oversaw such a weak economy that it is now crumbling".
"The party of personal responsibility" is what they repeated over and over when I was growing up. Funny how that stopped around, oh what year was it, 2016.
Its funny because this is one of the first times in modern history that a President can claim the most full and direct effect on the stock market through his actions. And it's fully negative.
Lots of companies were just trying to get ahead of the tariffs, buying up extra stock and shoring up for the worst. So yeah, in a roundabout way that little boost was indeed partly Donnie's doing.
And let's not forget Trump claiming during his first term that stock market gains offset the rise the budget deficit. By that logic, I guess all of the money they claim to be saving from cutting all of those government jobs is offset by the losses in the stock market.
