Yeah sure. I just got banned from r/Trump this morning trying to reason with them over this economic collapse. They don’t see it…at all.

Oh, they do. Most of them are VERY aware right now.

I'm a libertarian who made no bones about voting against my personal beliefs for Hillary, Biden, and then Harris. I'm in the category of 'people they try to convince' to go back to Republicanism.

Talking to them face to face, they want to talk about anything else these days.

Or they try to say 'but the democrats' before Signalgate blew up in their faces.
And Trump started talking about full blown Communism tactics.
Now they just kinda hang out at parties, stare at their fingers a lot,
Saying a lot of 'it was the least bad choice'
and I keep saying 'Dude, you made the worst fucking choice.'

But they won't admit it to anyone who is a Liberal.
They will DIE before they do that.
But they don't have the drive that they had.
If there was a civil war tomorrow, 2/3rds would call out sick.

That's why the GOP is starting to panic,
put money downstream into 'sure win' special election races.
Because they know that they NEED a shot of something to keep things up,
they need wins now, because if they start losing all over again,
if it starts coming apart the same idiots who put them in power are going to tear them apart.

It's almost like those of us who believe that actions have consequences and object permanence, vs. The kids who failed the marshmallow test.

It shouldn't be a contest, but here we are..

They just make up anything and deflect to not take accountability.

That's all they do. In everything. In every aspect of their lives.

We have a lot more narcissists than we thought...

I got banned from one today. I chuckled at the notion that they think it’s a punishment.

Numbers are hard for some people. Man, it even has percentages and other higher level math.

The market is down 4.9% this year. "Collapse" is a very dramatic word to use, and undermines the credibility of whatever narrative you're trying to push.

And no, I'm not a Trumper.

No that’s fair. I’m not trying to push any narrative, especially if you’re comparing it to the party I’m talking about (which is funny) but the NASDAQ has lost 7%, the S&P 5% and the DOW 4% in 30 days on his tariff talks alone. So again let’s not make it seem like I’m pushing a “narrative” and this man isn’t single handedly tanking shit

Also the Smoot-Hawley act of 1930 which was 60% tarrifs did tank the economy so my assessment isn’t far off

I think the tariffs are a risky idea and I don’t think they’ll be successful. Tech has been hit the hardest by the recent downturn, but it also carried the S&P the last several years, so that makes sense. My traditional blue chips are doing fine, just a minor dip. It’s going to be an interesting few years for sure.

10% in 2 days. Wild stuff

Yep, I expect it to drop another 8-10% this year, if not 15% total. We were already due for a correction and are overdue for a recession, but this makes that even more likely. As long as you're investing with a long term idea in mind, things will be fine.
