“past year” isn’t a good indicator given that the administration changed in january. everything fell off a cliff since mid january when trump took office.

since mid january: s&p down 8% dji down 6% nasdaq down over 13%

That's perfectly fine when the market is correcting, like every election cycle. This is the same shit the left said when Clinton took office, and Obama after. "Correction", not a crash. That's quite literally what this is. Trying to make the stock market a political weapon will not end well for the left.

that claim is not based in fact. data for the s&p three months into presidencies:

trump 2: -8% biden: +13% trump 1: +5% obama: +6% gwb: -9% clinton: 0%

somewhat all over the map which suggests there’s more going on than simply the fact that the administration changed. for the past few weeks the markets are very clearly reacting to the fear and uncertainty stoked by the new administration. if you really think the markets aren’t reacting directly to trump then just watch tomorrow with whatever (still unclear) thing happens on “liberation day” or whatever…

The market corrected... It's quite literally what you just said + or - is irrelevant, it is a correction. Why are you under the impression that I'm pro-anything political? I'm stating facts, read carefully.

Because you posted a few times data info for the part year versus when Trump took office. Usually when told "hey you posted data that makes it look more positive than negative" and posted it more than once despite being told so then yeah, it's a "a fact sprinkled with ignoring the actual truth because the market under Trump's second term worse than any of his recent predecessors".

In a market subreddit, you're manipulating factual data presentation knowing fully well everyone was placing their puts in knowing it was going to be pumped and dumped due to the forseen crashing of Trump's economy.

But I mean we can look at Trump's first term and say his economy was among own of the worse ever in the history of the United States and that would be factual too.

I didn’t say you were political. Actually almost the opposite, that you’re ignoring political context when suggesting the markets are just acting in a normal cyclical pattern. I hope it’s extremely clear this morning why everyone is attributing the plunging market directly to trump.
