I am only in my 30s but have seen this cycle play out more than once (not just on Reddit obviously). Republicans branded themselves as the party of “fiscal responsibility” and it has had amazing staying power despite all of the evidence to the contrary

I'm a particular fan of the cycle picture that was posted over on Fluent In Finance a few days ago describing how Republicans create hostile economic conditions, people vote for democrats to attempt to fix things, people are dissatisfied that it's not being fixed/regrown infinitely at infinitely growing rates, so they vote Republicans back into office...
