I'm having a tough time understanding if this was meant as sarcasm / satire, or a real position

If the former, I don't think even the most die hard liberals thought we would be 'in utopia.' It would have been more of the same, probably small incremental economic gains, boring news cycles, deadlocked house, etc.

Frankly, I know things have been 'better', but as 33M the past couple years have been some of the best of my life, financially. I know it is anecdotal, but personally I thought things were pretty great under Biden. My numbers were going up..
