Question What’s your wegovy “safe” food?

When your tummy isn’t 100% and you just don’t feel like eating anything else, what do you eat?

For me, it’s a super simple peanut butter & jelly sandwich. 🤷🏼‍♂️

A protein shake

13

u/Worried-Ad-6593 Jul 08 '24

Apples. They have saved me multiple times.

12

u/gymngdoll Jul 08 '24

Usually something dry/carby - half a bagel with a little butter, multigrain cheerios, half a grilled cheese sandwich.

10

u/Due-Chef-1525 Jul 08 '24

I go for plain toast with a bit of butter. It's easy on the stomach and comforting.

8

u/joe_sausage 2.4mg Jul 08 '24

Wegovy has definitely helped me rediscover the joy of simple toast.

Protein shake

9

u/Epona54 Jul 08 '24

A protein drink. Normally that would not be my go-to for tummy troubles, but with Wegovy it really seems to help

u/incognito_tippster Jul 08 '24
  1. Fresh Cherries. 🍒 right now they are in season and I’m loving it.

  2. Olives. Any day any time. I get most of my calories from olives.

Saltines have always been my go to. They don't taste as good on wegovy, but they help a little with queasiness.

8

u/SweetSassyMolasses Jul 08 '24

String cheese. Water. Repeat in three hours.

Day after shot it’s the fake chicken lipton cup o soup with saltines. Other days an english muffin with cream cheese and everything bagel seasoning on top. Gives me a little fat, carbs, and sodium and always makes me feel better.

The fair life chocolate protein shakes 30g of protein and it takes me like half an hour to drink

3

u/w00kiee Jul 08 '24

I feel less alone hearing that someone else also takes around 30 min to drink one 😅

6

Chicken noodle soup.

6

u/Away_Jellyfish8519 Jul 08 '24

Buttered noodles 😍

3

u/GunMetalBlonde 1.7mg Jul 08 '24

I love getting the buttered noodles from Noodles & Co. I eat about 1/3 of it at the most and save the rest for later; it amazes me that I used to eat the whole thing in one sitting.

3

u/Away_Jellyfish8519 Jul 08 '24

Yea it’s insane to think how much I was eating before… I could eat 2 frozen pizzas in a go and still have space for dessert, now just the thought of it makes me feel sick

6

u/GunMetalBlonde 1.7mg Jul 08 '24

A very small amount of cottage cheese. The dietician I saw recommended it because it has protein, and it has worked out well.

6

u/Turquoise_Midnights 1.0mg Jul 08 '24

Apple slices, Wheat Thins, cheese sticks.

6

u/lunacait Jul 08 '24

Bagel w/ cream cheese.

6

u/Fabulous-Aardvark-25 Jul 09 '24

Depending on time of day, meal time etc - I find that just a small healthy serving 1/2C or so of a good simple and natural vanilla ice cream really hits the spot. And makes me feel better.

Maybe odd, sure. But it works for me.

I go with TurkeyHill Simply Naturals Homemade Vanilla. But that’s a regional brand.

7

u/Weary_Conflict_3432 Jul 09 '24

A smoothie packed with nutrients is my go to!!

6

u/RubyHibiscus Jul 09 '24

Avocado toast, or yogurt. Often my nausea seems to be a hunger sign, so I know if I eat something…anything it will get better.

7

u/mjskywalker_ Jul 09 '24

Bananas and buttered toast is pretty safe for me. I’ve really struggled to find safe foods. I was never a huge meat eater (but not totally vegetarian) but meat has gotten even less appetizing now that I’m on Wegovy. Not sure if that will go away the longer I’m on it or not bc right now it’s been hard to hit my protein goal bc everything with protein (meat & eggs) makes me feel kinda sick. I do drink protein smoothies but I wish I could eat some grilled chicken or eggs without feeling sick to my stomach.

Blueberries, I don't know I was going to do when the summer ends

4

u/tinka844 Jul 08 '24

Try frozen blueberries. I’ll eat a whole bag of frozen blueberries from Costco. The wild ones are sweeter, but they’re all good. 🤤

Edit to add: I don’t eat the whole bag at once, I just don’t end up using them for anything else.

Same for me on fruit. My body is craving mangoes, grapes & watermelon. Anything juicy tastes and feels better in my stomach.

3

u/Round_Net3967 Jul 08 '24

Watermelon is another great one.

And I always have my travel grapes to get through rides in a car because being motion sick and having Wegovy ick at the same time is not fun!
