Stretch Marks?

Upvotes

I know it says avoid stretch marks but can you inject around/between stretch marks? Since obviously I’m taking this medicine I am both overweight and had a baby so I basically am stretch marks. Just curious is anyone has injected around the stretch marks but not directly in one and if you had any issues.

Wegovy to zepbound

Upvotes

For those of you who ended up switching to zepbound from Wegovy to continue getting your Prior auth approved do you need to to maintain x % from starting the new med? I lost 33% of total weight on Wegovy over the last 2 years but I've basically not moved for the last year. I'm 5'10" 37yo male, started at 270, now sitting between 180 and 185. I've also recently started Clonazepam and escitalopram and I'm concerned about potentially gaining. Is it worth it switching at this point in the game?

allodynia- skin pain....

I'm writing b/c I spent a week freaking out and giving myself horrible diseases after experiencing skin pain (allodynia) on my thigh and I want others to know that this is a side effect for a small percentage of people on Wegovy. I've been on it for over 3 years. I'm at goal and have been for about 2 years. Suddenly - I took my shot and 24 hours later I felt this strange sunburn like pain but with no burn showing. Google gave me Fibromyalgia and Multiple Sclerosis. I was terrified. THEN about 6 days later it went away and I just let it go. I took the shot again as per usual (every 2 weeks for me) and BAM- 24 hours later- allodynia again.

It's clearly some sort of side effect that is just now showing up for me after over 3 years on the drug. I'm not worried anymore and want others in this boat to know it's not something to be worried about ---UNLESS its bothering you too much. Obviously talk with your doctor- but it's not a reason in and of itself to stop the drug or be concerned that you have a horrible disease and it CAN show up randomly after being on the drug for a long period of time.

Question Bad Food Cravings

I started Wegovy July 2024. Aside from the first couple of dosages, I haven’t had any major side effects. I drink a lot of water and try to eat the highest protein meals.

Since the beginning, I have craved the worst foods-the cravings switch between fried foods (pizza/chinese) to sweets (like cupcake icing.) When I do give into a craving and eat the “bad” foods, I have NO bad reaction. I thought Wegovy was supposed to make these all go away and am wondering if this means it’s time to switch to another drug like Zepound.

Has anyone else had this happen? If so what did you do?

Restart Wegovy 1.7

I made the same mistake as many of you and restarted after a month with my 1.7 dose. I was vomiting all next day and nauseous for the next but also had a terrible pressure headache! Anyway, I was thinking my body now has the 1.7 so should I be ok for 1.7 on my next dose or go down in dosage. Or should I postpone a few days?

Appetite for a 2 week holiday

Hi All, been taking weight for 5 months and lost 17kgs. I’m still keen to lose about 3-5 more but I’m going on an overseas holiday for two weeks and considering stopping of just injecting a half dose so I can enjoy having full meals. Any advice or thoughts? I already have picked up my prescription so any tips on injecting a half dose would be great as well as wondering nausea rebound.

Lesson learned about prom size! Wow!

We went to dinner last night to a Mexican restaurant. I didn't think I was hungry, but after smelling the food, ordered fish tacos and munched on chips and salsa before hand. After one fish taco I was definitely full, normally I could eat all three, but I felt bad wasting my meal so ate one more and took home the third. Holy moly, I still felt full at the in three morning. 😬 I think I'll start ordering off the kids menu. 🤪

Goal to be in Overweight BMI?

Within 20 of my goal weight. This medicine is a life saver. Personally my thought is BMI is very out of whack with overall health. But, is anyone else’s goal to be in the overweight BMI category and stop there? Discussed with my doctor and she said that’s a good place to be overall- almost more so than “normal BMI” as our bodies need some fat to hold on to. Just wondering what others goals are!

Clothing

So I just went through all my pants. Smallest I’ve been in 15+ years is a 16R biggest 22W. I am almost back to a 16-depends on the brand. Cant bring myself to just donate all the jeans and pants I have that are now to big but feel like keeping them is giving myself the ok to gain it all back again someday. What are people doing with good quality clothes that don’t fit any more?

Switching from ozempic to wegovy

I prefer to stay on the lowest dose. I’m currently on .25 ozempic and had to switch to wegovy. My dr gave me .5 pens but I don’t want to go up to .5. Is there a way to stay on the .25 dose with .5 wegovy pens?

Trying again after miscarriage – is low-dose Wegovy safe before pregnancy?

Hi all! I’m looking for honest advice and hoping someone here has been in a similar situation.

I stopped Wegovy in January because I found out I was pregnant shortly after my last injection (I was on 0.5 mg at the time). Sadly, I lost the pregnancy around week 9, and I can’t stop wondering if the timing of that last dose might have had something to do with it.

I’ve since had a D&C and want to start trying again soon. But summer is coming, and I’ve gained quite a bit of weight since stopping Wegovy. I’m really struggling with body image, and on top of that, I have ADHD, which makes it hard to control my eating – Wegovy truly helped with that.

My question is: has anyone here used Wegovy during the time when they were trying to conceive (but not yet pregnant)? Is it something you’d consider safe to use while TTC, knowing you’d stop immediately upon a positive test?

I know it’s not recommended during pregnancy, and I would of course stop as soon as I get a positive result. But I’m scared of doing something wrong again and just don’t know what’s worse – the weight gain and mental toll, or the fear of repeating past mistakes.

Thank you so much for reading.

Question I'm on week, 4 at the lowest dose, nausea!

Any tips for the nausea? I get it when I eat, when I don't, can't figure it out. I can't seem to figure out what is the culprit...too little food/water in me? Too much sugar or carbs? I need a strategy to head off nausea before it starts because I'm starting a new job soon and I can't be dealing with severe nausea every day. Help!

How to Halve a Dose?

I need to drop down to half my dosage and don't want to waste my current shots as they are expensive. I thought I could stop depressing the pen when the yellow line reached the halfway point but it doesn't stop administering. Any ideas? I'm thinking of emptying a pen and then filling up 2 syringes equally. Not sure how to inject after that.

Side effect?

I had my first shot last Friday. I live with IBS and acid reflux, but I didn't have any nausea, constipation, or diarrhea there next week.

However, for the next few days, my abdominal muscles were tired and weak as if I'd had a 12-hour puke fest. It took effort to speak and my voice was shaky because my abdomen wasn't engaging enough to push out naturally. It went back to normal in a few days.

I took my second shot last night. I woke up with the same issue this morning, which makes me think it's a side effect of the shot.

Dr. Google didn't mention anything about this. Has anyone heard of this this?

Question 4 weeks at .25 and I weigh 3lbs more than when I started

Hoping for some insights from folks who’ve been there… just took my fourth .25 dose this morning and weighed myself and I’m 3lbs heavier than when I started. However I feel like the medication is working as I never have cravings, eat much less than I used to, and have no food noise like I had previously. I’ve had constipation issues, but it seems crazy to think that this could account for the lack of pounds coming off.

Has anyone else been here? Does the lack of weight loss mean Wegovy doesn’t work for me?

Poor exercise tolerance

Before Wegovy, I was exercising almost every day. Peloton Power Zone rides 3-4x/wk, strength 2-3x, and easy yoga 2-3 for active recovery. On my 3rd month in, I'm up to a 1.0 dose, lost about 15 pounds, and I'm so happy about that, but I love exercising. I can't finish my rides at anywhere near my previous level, and I can't lift the same weights. I'm feeling so weak lately. I've been focusing on protein, so my nutritionist recommended more carbs, especially before my morning workouts. I just want a pep talk that I'll get back to my previous strength and energy levels, or some advice.

Body odor

Hi! I started Wegovy 3/28/25 @ 0.25mg. Nothing really notable as far as side effects. I’m very pleased and pleasantly surprised that food noises are completely gone. Yesterday was my second dose—again no issues. However, I woke up smelling absolutely ripe. It woke me up. If anything was going to make me vomit, it was the smell coming off of me. I realized that last weekend, I had the same issue. I didn’t think much of it at the time, because I’m s/p a fusion of a joint in my foot and I was in a cast at that time and thought the cast was getting funky. My baseline is that I never even sweat on a 90° day. I didn’t wake up sweaty, just smelly. I’m in a cam boot now, so I can’t blame the cast. I shower every other day. Anyone else notice an unfamiliar funk emanating from their body?

Question First injection

hello, I’m about to start my first round of injections on Wednesday. My nutritionist prescribed me, Wegovy, but didn’t give me any do’s and don’ts while on the medication. I’ve tried to do my research online and reading all of the information in the packet that they give me with my prescription, but I’m still very nervous. if anybody has any advice, let me know. Are there any other medications I can’t mix with it? am I able to drink alcohol? I just feel like I wasn’t given any type of direction with this.

apparently, trump's administration has decided that anti-obesity medications such as wegovy will no longer be covered under medicare part D or medicaid...

this is really worrying for me, as i have only started on wegovy 2 weeks ago and i cannot afford it unless my medicaid covers it.

anyone else here worried?
