NSV - Need New Pants

Yesterday I put on a pair of pants that fit three weeks ago and they were SO loose! Pulled out the tote of too small clothes and I couldn’t believe it ! My size 18 jeans fit!! And not an “almost still kinda tight” fit. Comfortably fitting.

I have been on Wegovy for two weeks, but am tracking everything and drinking a lot of water every day. I’m getting 90-100 of protein a day as well. The food noise is almost non existent and my mood has improved as well. I’m weighing myself twice a week just to keep an eye on things, but I’m not as concerned about the numbers as I am fitting into smaller clothes.

As someone who has always had impulse control issues, this has been a HUGE game changer! No more bingeing. No more stuffing myself to the point of being sick. It’s amazing.

Wegovy ALWAYS wins.

I’ve lost 30 lbs and I have a hard head so I thought I could eat a sausage, egg and cheese croissanwich, which I haven’t had in FOREVER, and Wegovy just waited with an evil grin. She knew it wouldn’t turn out well. She was right. She got rid of that delicious greasy croissant in about 45 minutes, and I was at all a full run to the bathroom! So today, what could a handful of gummy bears do? Oh, never again. I could HEAR the watery sounds in my guts and I knew Wegovy won again. I can’t get anything too sweet, too much grease or fat, I’m stuffed after just half of a meal, and bc I have ulcers, no spice, citrus, ketchup, nothing red. I guess I’ll eat lettuce sandwiches and drink water just to keep Wegovy happy!!! My poor Victoria’s Secret panties became Victoria’s Shame. 😒 Trust the process!!!

Which electrolyte do you take? And how often?

Trying to decide on the regular or low/no-sugar options? I usually do Electrolit or Liquid IV. Does anyone have a recommendation for what is best? How often do you take it? My water system at home has a re-mineralization stage to make it more Alkaline. So I’m wondering if additional electrolytes are even necessary?

Nausea and Headache

Looking for some advice. I just moved up to .5 dosage, the nausea and indigestion after I eat and non stop headache are brutal. Any thoughts on how to manage this? I am consciously trying to take smaller bites, eat slower and drink my water.

I have been on it since November but the scale has not moved dramatically but I feel less voluminous, does that make any sense?

Aaarrgh!

I just started a new pen. I wasn’t looking forward to doing 1.7mg tonight. I am not feeling very well, but I am down 3kg. Popped my needle on and pushed the button to bring some up to the surface. I saw nothing. So I mindlessly dial up to 1.7kg and press the button again. All of a sudden a stream is projected into the air across my kitchen! Holy crap. I release the button and think I just wasted a whole shot. I immediately start cleaning up what’s on the floor but I don’t see a lot. I check the pen and only need to crank it a few clicks to get back to 1.7mg. Whew. 😅 I didn’t lose too much. Hopefully I can still get 4 full shots from this pen. I pay £275 per pen, so that’s about £70 per injection. That’s the last thing I need in this economy. Especially after the last two days of Trumponomics and its effect on the market. 🤬

I am down 40lbs and have 15lbs to go.

Moving from Wegovy to Zepbound

My weight loss has stalled and my provider is moving me to Zepbound. I have a co worker who is on it and told me that it works well.

Has anyone done this and how were the results? Should I expect the same side effects as I did with Wegovy?

Doing my first injection today!

Any advice for a newbie would be greatly appreciated. I have to go to a specialty pharmacy where they show me how to inject and will also get my first dose. And then I bring home the remainder of this month’s doses. I’m a bit nervous but I’m ready for this new journey. It’s way overdue. Any tips to help with the negative side effects? Anything else that might be helpful for me to know? Hoping the effects are mild for me but I know anything is possible. Thanks everyone!

Question Hypoglycemia on week 2 of Wegovy

i did my week 2 injection yesterday at 5pm and by midnight, i believe i was experiencing hypoglycemia.

i was trying to fall asleep when i suddenly felt dizzy, slightly nauseous (almost like a motion sickness kind of nausea), my whole body felt tingly, sweating and i felt like i was tremoring (even though i was not physically shaking). i also feel like i was a bit altered? i didn't feel normal in the head.

i did eat a meal before my injection, which was rice and eggs ag 5pm. i figured i was low on sugar so i ate 5 peices of gummy candy and started to feel better, but then after about 30 minutes, i was experiencing the tremors again. i didn't eat any more candy but was able to finally fall asleep and woke up fine.

anyone have tips on how to avoid this next time? it honestly felt pretty scary and i don't know if this is due to some underlying undiagnosed diabetes or if it's just the wegovy doing its job a little too well or if because i changed my injection site (from the left side of my navel to right above my navel).

should i have eatten a bigger and more carb-packed meal?

Question Cannot eat anymore

Hi! I have been on Wegovy for 7 weeks now (4w 0.25, 3w 0.5) and I am worried because I can barely eat anymore and I am scared I am not feeding myself properly.

I started taking it because I had been pleateauing for 5 months during my weight loss journey and my doctor wants me to go down 7-10 more kgs so that they consider me at a "healthy" weight.

Before going on it, I had been eating mostly clean (80-20 rule) and was able to have 3 proper meals a day and I am going to the gym 4-5 days a week. Now, I can barely eat 3-4 bites of anything for the meals, I cannot drink my protein shakes anymore because they fill me instantly and make me nauseous and I cannot "force" myself to eat the bare minimum nutrients I need. I am almost non stop tired and I can feel myself getting weaker.

What should I do? Was this a mistake on my part to start it? Does it go away? I am really worried.

Thank you!

Moving my injection day

Has anyone had experience adjusting their injection day, and do you have any advice? I currently take mine on Tuesday mornings, mostly because that’s the day my first prescription was filled and I’ve stuck with it. However, I’ve found that the day after is usually the day with the strongest side effects (by strongest, I mean the strongest of what are fairly mild ones—nothing terrible, but maybe some constipation, gas, and some belching). Wednesday also happens to be my most intense work day and I’d rather not feel my worst on that day of all days.

I was considering moving my injection back by 12 hours for a few weeks until I was at Sunday mornings. Has anyone had experience doing this? Am I being overly cautious, and would moving it back by 24 hours over two weeks be fine? Mondays are chill days for me so I think a Sunday dose would fit better with the rhythm of my week.

Would love to hear others’ thoughts. Thx!

Wegovy sent me to the ER

After a progression of doses since February we finally increased in last week and mere hours after latest injection i was nauseas and was vomiting on/off violently for hours on end , my resting heart rate jumped next day to an insane 135 and stayed high until i went to the ER and got help on docs advice . Nurse said explicitly that they had seen plenty of victims of this product, so beware. While it had some short term benefits it definitely didn't outdo disadvantages.

Wegovy Hair Loss

Post image
2 Upvotes

I’ve been reading about Wegovy hair loss and I’m trying to get as much information as possible to stop and counteract it asap.

So far what I’ve learned is Biotin, Collagen, Protein.

Has this actually worked for anyone? How long does it take to work?

What form do you take these things in? I just acquired some Biotin 5000mcg chewables. Pic attached.

If you have any recommendations. Drinks, brands, powders, anything. I went to Whole Foods yesterday and found a $10 300 calorie collagen protein drink that I guzzled and did not enjoy (but it was for the greater good).

I’m getting depressed and need my hair to stop falling out. I wonder what percentage of people experience this on Wegovy.

Strategies and Tips for Battling Nausea on Wegovy

Like a majority of people, I have had nausea on Wegovy. I thought this short podcast episode on practical tips and strategies for combating nausea while on GLP-1 could be helpful.

https://glp1tribe.com/podcast

Nausea is not fun!

GLP-1 Medication Nausea: Management Strategies and Tips

The episode extensively explores the common side effect of nausea experienced by 50% of individuals using GLP-1 medications for type 2 diabetes and weight loss.

We explain why nausea occurs, detailing the medication's impact on gastric emptying and brain signaling. The sources offer a range of management strategies, including dietary adjustments like eating smaller, bland meals and avoiding trigger foods, as well as lifestyle modifications such as prioritizing hydration and rest. Furthermore, they discuss over-the-counter and prescription remedies, such as ginger, peppermint, and antiemetic drugs, while emphasizing the importance of consulting healthcare professionals for persistent or severe symptoms.

Frequent BM's

I started. 25 on Wednesday and I'm pooping more than usual. I honestly don't know where it's coming from and it's not diarrhea... Maybe the increase in water I'm drinking?

Any legit online docs for Wegovy?

So I know there’s all kinds of places and websites prescribing compounding semaglutide, but has anyone used an online doc for actual Wegovy?

Thankfully, my insurance covers it at $140 for a 90 days supply with a prior authorization. Mounjaro is even cheaper with my insurance and doesn’t require a PA, but my understanding is you have to be diabetic to get it prescribed.

I am going to try to get my gyno to prescribe it later this month when I go since I basically just see her for my overall care (bloodwork, etc), but just in case she isn’t on board for some reason I wanted to find a legit online doc.

My BMI is well within the requirements.

Starting! 22 F

I was on Zepbound for six months until my insurance stopped paying. It worked beautifully and I lost over 50 pounds. To say I’m disappointed, is an understatement. However, my insurance decided that they would cover Wegovy instead. I’m giving it a shot considering no matter what diet, exercise, or lifestyle I live, I’m unable to lose weight.

Starting at 0.25, which I’ve read is nothing.. but will increase my dose next month.

Wish me luck!

Has anyone switched from Triz to Semi?

Question Anyone else get sensitive skin?

Since I went up a dose 2 weeks ago, I’ve had really sensitive skin. It feels like a mild sunburn on the back of my neck and back. It doesn’t hurt all the time but I feel chafed at my collars, and even my hair touching the back of my neck feels like it’s chafing it. It’s really annoying. I read that wegovy can cause this. Is anyone else experiencing this?

First dose today. Looking for advice and realistic expectations.

Went to doctor yesterday for first time in a long while. Once I stepped on scale was informed I qualified for Wegovy due to my BMI.

Have struggled to lose weight through diet/exercise alone so figured it’s worth a shot. Doctor gave me very little info on what to expect so am looking to hear from this community in terms of what I should expect in terms of side effects?

Any advice on changes to diet or taking supplements or meds to counteract gastrointestinal issues that seem very likely to happen?

Let Them

I’ve been reading the book “the Let Them Theory” and it’s helped me deal with other peoples opinions on my weight loss and the fact that I use Wegovy. I can’t control how people will react. If they have a negative reaction to my smaller body or they say or feel snarky about my using ‘drugs’ to achieve my goals, that’s not on me. All I can control is myself and my reactions. If people want to be negative… let them! It’s so freeing! I am happy and healthy and that’s all that matters. This has helped me let go of the shame…I highly recommend this book as a helpful resource on this journey. SW 186 CW 133 height 5’6” age 55

Managing Nausea

Hi friends! Been on wegovy since January and have lost about 30lbs am currently at 1MG. I was very thankful for limited side effects the first few weeks, but the last two after my shot for about 4 days i have severe gastrointestinal pain, gas bloating nausea etc.

Ive been trying to remove food triggers but alot of my healthy diet is vegetables which lead to the gas and bloating.

Ive been trying to take OTC pills but things like pepto only back me up and thats not beneficial as the only other side effect I’ve had is some (manageable) constipation. Ive tried simple otc pain meds without much relief.

I wondered if anyone here had any help managing these symptoms. Im hoping they go away within the next few weeks as i adjust.
