Question First injection

hello, I’m about to start my first round of injections on Wednesday. My nutritionist prescribed me, Wegovy, but didn’t give me any do’s and don’ts while on the medication. I’ve tried to do my research online and reading all of the information in the packet that they give me with my prescription, but I’m still very nervous. if anybody has any advice, let me know. Are there any other medications I can’t mix with it? am I able to drink alcohol? I just feel like I wasn’t given any type of direction with this.

Switching from ozempic to wegovy

I prefer to stay on the lowest dose. I’m currently on .25 ozempic and had to switch to wegovy. My dr gave me .5 pens but I don’t want to go up to .5. Is there a way to stay on the .25 dose with .5 wegovy pens?

Trying again after miscarriage – is low-dose Wegovy safe before pregnancy?

Hi all! I’m looking for honest advice and hoping someone here has been in a similar situation.

I stopped Wegovy in January because I found out I was pregnant shortly after my last injection (I was on 0.5 mg at the time). Sadly, I lost the pregnancy around week 9, and I can’t stop wondering if the timing of that last dose might have had something to do with it.

I’ve since had a D&C and want to start trying again soon. But summer is coming, and I’ve gained quite a bit of weight since stopping Wegovy. I’m really struggling with body image, and on top of that, I have ADHD, which makes it hard to control my eating – Wegovy truly helped with that.

My question is: has anyone here used Wegovy during the time when they were trying to conceive (but not yet pregnant)? Is it something you’d consider safe to use while TTC, knowing you’d stop immediately upon a positive test?

I know it’s not recommended during pregnancy, and I would of course stop as soon as I get a positive result. But I’m scared of doing something wrong again and just don’t know what’s worse – the weight gain and mental toll, or the fear of repeating past mistakes.

Thank you so much for reading.

GLP1s did absolutely nothing until i tried Zepbound

I tried other GLP1s , lastly was Wegovy and it did absolutely nothing. I was devastated as expected and figured I was a "non-responder". I've been trying to lose weight since I was 12 and I'm 35 now, had severe PCOS and infertility my entire life. and after an unsuccessful life of obesity and major diet changes. the ONLY thing that worked in 20+ years is Zepound. Ive lost 35 lbs since Feb. and got my first period in 15 YEARS.

It has completely changed my life. -My ovaries, my skin, my mental health, my sleep, my asthma, allergies- everything.

TL;DR if GLP1s aren't working for your body try Zepbound first before throwing in the towel. it works differently than the others chemically.

Question I'm on week, 4 at the lowest dose, nausea!

Any tips for the nausea? I get it when I eat, when I don't, can't figure it out. I can't seem to figure out what is the culprit...too little food/water in me? Too much sugar or carbs? I need a strategy to head off nausea before it starts because I'm starting a new job soon and I can't be dealing with severe nausea every day. Help!

How to Halve a Dose?

I need to drop down to half my dosage and don't want to waste my current shots as they are expensive. I thought I could stop depressing the pen when the yellow line reached the halfway point but it doesn't stop administering. Any ideas? I'm thinking of emptying a pen and then filling up 2 syringes equally. Not sure how to inject after that.

Side effect?

I had my first shot last Friday. I live with IBS and acid reflux, but I didn't have any nausea, constipation, or diarrhea there next week.

However, for the next few days, my abdominal muscles were tired and weak as if I'd had a 12-hour puke fest. It took effort to speak and my voice was shaky because my abdomen wasn't engaging enough to push out naturally. It went back to normal in a few days.

I took my second shot last night. I woke up with the same issue this morning, which makes me think it's a side effect of the shot.

Dr. Google didn't mention anything about this. Has anyone heard of this this?

Body odor

Hi! I started Wegovy 3/28/25 @ 0.25mg. Nothing really notable as far as side effects. I’m very pleased and pleasantly surprised that food noises are completely gone. Yesterday was my second dose—again no issues. However, I woke up smelling absolutely ripe. It woke me up. If anything was going to make me vomit, it was the smell coming off of me. I realized that last weekend, I had the same issue. I didn’t think much of it at the time, because I’m s/p a fusion of a joint in my foot and I was in a cast at that time and thought the cast was getting funky. My baseline is that I never even sweat on a 90° day. I didn’t wake up sweaty, just smelly. I’m in a cam boot now, so I can’t blame the cast. I shower every other day. Anyone else notice an unfamiliar funk emanating from their body?

Experiences with obtaining online prescription in Canada

Sorry if this has already been asked.

I am wondering what the process is to get a prescription online in Canada and from what providers. Do you have to have a video appointment? Telephone appointment? Take pictures? Weigh yourself? I’d preferably not want to have a video appointment. I’d just like to fill out some criteria, have them fill out my insurance forms, and take it into a pharmacy instead of going through a whole rigmarole.

Thanks in advance!

Bloating hours after meal

I am a 50-year-old male. I am down about 20 lb/10% of my body weight since starting in January.

I just took my first dose of 1.7 this week. The symptoms I will describe also took place a couple of times on the previous dose.

What is happening is I am waking up about 8 hours after my last meal feeling bloated or full and nauseous. It's kind of hard to describe honestly. This happens 8 hours after my last meal and about 4 hours after going to sleep. It does not happen every night but it has happened a few times.

My meal last night was a tuna salad sandwich and this happened. A previous example that caused this was a simple salad. Same thing 8 hours after the meal and 4 hours after going to sleep I wake up with this discomfort and nausea.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is there some certain foods I should avoid?

Unrelated but I'll provide it anyway is that I have dealt with acid reflux for many years. I know the triggers for this and I avoid it. The symptoms I am describing here are very different than acid reflux. They also happen hours after going to sleep, where reflux usually happens within 30 minutes.

Question How long to adjust to a dose?

I didn’t have any symptoms until I started 1.7. Then over the 4 weeks I was taking it, I had some diarrhea and eventually vomiting.

I tried 2.4 as I was scheduled to go up to my next dose, and experienced the same symptoms. The doctor recommended I go back down to 1.7. It’s been a few weeks and I’m still having symptoms.

Do you eventually adjust or should I just go back to 1? I was still losing weight there with no symptoms.

Nausea between dinner and bedtime

Hi all I’ve been going through the posts about nausea but wanted to see if anyone had tips for my situation because it seemed like a lot of people who get nausea are getting it from the shot itself. I do not have any side effects after taking my shot (I do it in my thighs). I am still titrating up my dose and I’m on my 3rd week of 0.5mg. I have been having bad nausea daily that typically occurs in the time between dinner and going to sleep. I have some leftover zofran from when I was getting used to a different medication that was also causing nausea so I use that if it gets really bad. I decided to stay at 0.5mg for another month because of the nausea.

Is this something that will go away as I get used to the dose? Or am I not eating properly or something else?

Tips are much appreciated!

How to confirm TDEE

How can you scientifically confirm TDEE? Where would you go? The reason I ask is that as a lean adult (F) 15 years ago, when I tracked calories daily to maintain my weight, my maintenance calories were 1750. I was in my early 30s and was in the best shape of my life, lean but muscular, and beautiful and healthy. Even though I wasn’t an athlete, people always assumed I was due to my build.

Whenever I’ve needed to lose weight in the past, I’d always need to cut back to about 1200 calories, which makes it about a 500 calorie deficit to the old maintenance calories. That makes sense.

But even now when I weigh almost 100 pounds more than that (!!!), even a 1500 calorie/day diet has me modestly gaining weight. None of the TDEE calculators that account come close to that, even for just the basal rate.

I’m thinking that maybe I need to target 1000-1200 calories or less while on Wegovy to see a gradual loss. However, I feel like if I say that out loud then all the naysayers will come out of the woodwork and scream about starving myself and killing my metabolism, yada yada.

I just think those calculators do not reflect reality for me and I’d like to confirm that, but how/where?

Question Ozempic - Mounjaro - Wegovy?

Hi everyone,

I've been on MJ since September last year and have lost around 42lbs. Before that, I was on OZ from February to July 2024 and lost 30lbs.

While on OZ, I had strong appetite suppression and reduced food noise - more-so compared to on MJ. Since I can't get OZ anymore (non-diabetic), I was thinking of moving to Wegovy since I seemed to have a stronger reaction to semaglutide.

Has anyone moved from Mounjaro to Wegovy and experienced similar/greater weight loss and appetite reduction?

Not sure if it is worth it. I am meeting with my doctor this week anyway, but just wanted to get some anecdotal advice.

Thanks in advance!

Lack of energy/motivation

Been on Weg since late Jan, currently on 1mg. Since being on 1mg I've been having a serious lazy spell. I have no energy/interest/motivation to do anything lately. Beach, outing, nope. Store, shopping, naaah. Cook ...hell no. Chores, uuuugghh. I've read where fatigue is a side effect, but to me this isn't fatigue. I'm not sleeping all day or feel tired, I'm just not in the mood to do shit. I know this is going to be bad for my already slow progress. Any suggestions to getting over this lazy couch rot side effect? I've thought about bringing this up with my PCP but, like, how do I go about asking my doc for some prescription strength caffeine pills? Lol Idek if there IS any such Rx.

Resting HR increase - can you tell when I started?

I noticed this and thought it was kind of interesting. Prior to starting the medication my heart rate had been dipping quite low while sleeping (35 bpm). I suppose I can tolerate this side effect.
