School & Career Anyone else need to have a dopamine fueled work space or they're less productive?

I used to be hard on myself for buying unnecessary stuff like nice pens and mugs but at some point I started to cut myself some slack. I'm also more productive when I have nice things ans pens around me!!

I need my tea so I need a mug. And if I need a mug why not make it cute? And if my pens are ugly all I can think about is how much I hate my pen! So of course those are also a necessity 😏

So funnily enough I got the keyboard from Shein? It was on sale BUUUUT the same brand (Magee) is on Amazon. It's a hot swapable mechanical board but it's not loud, just nice and thunky. The Caps though are from Aliexpress

ETA: The cap profile is uniform, so each key is the same height. Some folks prefer different profiles, myself included! I’d get these if they were scooped like my current set :D

I used to, but after a while, they became so much of a distraction, so I sadly have to go back to basic.

That's understandable! I think much more than this and I would too. I have a friend with a coworker who's desk is more stuffies than actual desk

I need as little distraction as possible at my work space as trying to focus to get work done is already so challenging.
While all my colleague has pictures of their family and stuffs.
I seriously cannot have those things or I will lose focus and keep looking at those pics.

How do you keep your space generating dopamine? I get used to new scenery after a week at most, and then it just becomes background noise.
