My dog does a similar thing with his mouth if I'm giving him scratches in a certain spot but that's more of a straight lip than curved like a smile

My goldador does it too! It's sort of halfway to the expression in this vid. We call it her awkward smile.

Yea I think if I ever got him in that spot while his head was turned he'd have that goofy sly smile too lol
