It was kinda fun from what I watched but I don't see how it's one of the best Shonen of all time.

Like I still don't understand what the point of a hunter is other than it letting the Mc do what he wants, or the constantly changing power system, or the fact one of the main characters literally just leave the series after the first arc

It simply means that things happen very fast in the plot.

Just finished the show and out of shonen anime I think these two have the best dynamic. Especially after seeing elevator scene. They portrayed them in a great way.

THE TRUE HISTORY OF THE ONE PIECE WORLD

The Timeline of the Void Century and Beyond

~1000 Years Ago – The Dawn of the Great Civilization

A massive, advanced civilization ruled over a united world. This is now called the Ancient Kingdom.

They had technology far beyond the current era (possibly futuristic).

They believed in freedom, cooperation, and shared history.

Their main island, later known as Laugh Tale, was the seat of Joy Boy’s reign.

~900 Years Ago – Joy Boy & The Promise

Joy Boy was a legendary figure — possibly the ruler or warrior of this kingdom.

He formed bonds with species across the world: Fishmen, Giants, Minks, Shandians, etc.

He made a promise to the Fishmen to bring them to the surface (Noah's Ark was part of that plan).

Joy Boy attempted to lead a worldwide uprising against the growing threat: the 20 Nations that feared his power and ideals.

~800 Years Ago – The Fall of the Kingdom / Void Century Begins

The 20 Nations formed the World Government and waged war against Joy Boy’s kingdom.

In the final moments, Joy Boy:

Entrusted the truth to Poneglyphs (created by the Kozuki clan).

Split the knowledge into pieces, hidden across the world (Road Poneglyphs and others).

Left behind the One Piece — his dream, legacy, and tools for the next generation to change the world.

The Ancient Weapons — Pluton, Poseidon, Uranus — were hidden to prevent misuse.

Joy Boy failed to fulfill his promise, leaving a letter of apology to Fishman Island.

The kingdom was destroyed, and the survivors scattered.

Laugh Tale became the final resting place of the truth — hidden by dangerous currents and protected by time/weather phenomena.

WHAT IS THE ONE PIECE?

The One Piece is:

A physical treasure (gold, technology, lost relics) representing the wealth and power of the Ancient Kingdom.

The True History: a complete log (possibly in holographic or visual format) of the world before the Void Century.

A key or mechanism that, when activated, can:

Destroy the Red Line, causing the four oceans to merge into one.

Unite the world, ending the division enforced by the World Government.

Fulfill Joy Boy’s promise to bring the Fishmen to the surface.

The final Ancient Weapon (Uranus?) may even be part of it or used to defend the world during this transition.

LAUGH TALE – Its Secret

Located at the intersection of all the Road Poneglyphs.

Protected by time loops, reverse currents, magnetic anomalies, and possibly illusions (Vegapunk hinted islands could be cloaked).

Built on the last remaining island of the Ancient Kingdom.

Only accessible if all the Road Poneglyphs are found and decoded — hence Roger couldn’t act on it, only laugh at what he found.

Its name, “Laugh Tale,” reflects the irony and sadness of what happened — a world that could have been free, turned into an empire of control.

THE DESTINED ROLE – Luffy as the New Joy Boy

The Gomu Gomu no Mi (Nika Fruit) is likely a fruit once used by the original Joy Boy.

Luffy represents freedom, joy, and unity, making him the inheritor of Joy Boy’s Will.

The Straw Hats reflect the unity of species and beliefs Joy Boy fought for.

When Luffy reaches Laugh Tale, he will:

Discover the truth.

Understand the One Piece’s purpose.

Decide whether to trigger the destruction of the Red Line and reshape the world.

THE ENDGAME SCENARIO

After Laugh Tale is reached, the Great Final War begins.

The World Government collapses, or Imu is revealed as the final antagonist — possibly an immortal figure from the Void Century.

Luffy, the Straw Hats, allies (Revolutionaries, pirates, etc.), and the people of the world rise up.

The Red Line is destroyed (likely using Pluton/Uranus), uniting the seas into “One Piece” — hence the name.

Fishman Island either moves to the surface or is saved before the destruction.

The Will of D., possibly “Dawn/Dreamer/etc,” and the “Inherited Will” themes all come full circle.
