I will be going away on vacation for 2 months and need to leave my common goldfish behind. I will be leaving him with a friend for the time being. Can I use this container? It is 12.9 QT/12.2 L. It’s light-weight, so it would be easy to transport from point A to B and vice versa. And I’ll have a sponge filter and 2 decor pieces inside. Essentially, my regular tank’s set up, just in a container rather than the tank.

Hey, has anyone ideas, how i get rid of the mulm? I use a vacuum sometimes but it doesnt help a lot and i dont want to stress my fish and shrimp to much.
I have 4 tanks als with same underground trmperature and light. This is the only tank i got this Problem. Tank and fish are fine otherwise.
In one of my big tanks i have malaysian trumpft snails. I put some in this tank. Could these do the job?

I've been running this 20g planted setup for about 3 months using the filter that came with the kit. It was clogging up every few days, so I upgraded to this Marineland Penguin 150.
I have it at the lowest setting and I added a sponge filter at the intake. It's flowing significantly faster than the original ever did. Does this look reasonable?

I'm confused as to why the JUP-01 UV sterilizer has bursts of air that make it loud. it is fully submerged. ignore platy

(this is related to my previous question about filtration)
Since the new pump and filter setup is completely clean, will that negatively affect the bacteria balance?
The old filter had four slim filters that were quite brown. I'd swap out two of them in rotation every 3-4 weeks. This way there was always a good amount of bacteria etc for the water to flow through.
Would it help if I just plop one of the old filters into the tank for a few days?

hey, this aquarium has been sitting around in my house for like 15 years, my mom managed it but since she left a year and a half ago we've been trying to maintain it. took the plastic plants out r to clean them and now we're removing the grime from the bottom. the filter system is built in and, very much still working, having replaced the filters recently, and we've got two fish that clean around lol we dk. what do yall think about all this grime and shape of it, how can we manage the cleaning part better, any recommendations? the fish seem to thrive in an almost self sustaining environment, I only found out that some of them have deformed spines i guess because of generations of genetic inbreeding thnx!

I’ve got flakes and blood worms I usually feed my platy’s. Though, I just found some betta food from a few years ago when we had a betta. Can I feed my platy’s this?

I've got a 36 gallon bowfront aquarium. I'm thinking of spending a bit more time with it, and trying to get a planted setup going. Currently I only have an OTB filter.
I've found a pretty good deal on an OASE filtosmart thermo 100 cartridge filter w/ the integrated heater, lily pipes, and a few other odds and ends. But it's officially rated for "Up to 30 gallon tanks." However the next size up is seemingly way overpowered...rated to 70 gallon tanks.
Do you think I'm in for a world of hurt, if I buy this filter rated for 30 gallons...for a 36 gallon tank? I'm still pretty new to the hobby, so really don't know what the "safety margins" are. TIA!

I just got a rabbit snail, 3 amano shrimp, and a mystery snail, all 3 were at the very top of the water line, and the rabbit snail emerged. I tested the water, it's 0ppm ammonia, 0ppm nitrite, 10-20ppm nitrate, ph7.6. What gives? Should I leave the rabbit snail alone, or would he suffocate?

hello, just put 6 cpd into my tank and was wondering if this is ich? if it is what’s the best way to treat them?

It was in the gravel, started melting and I took it out and let it float around and now it's doing a lot better and growing roots. I'm not sure how to take care of it 🤣

There’s has been some melting but for the most part everything is doing well. Love watching everything change and grow daily! Hopefully by next weekend this should by cycled and ready for some fish

I didn't do my due-diligence researching when I got this little 5 gallon tank. I stocked it with cherries and a betta right away, not understanding I needed to cycle it first. It's been 3 weeks and so far everyone has survived due to daily water changes, rigorous monitoring, and a donation of some substrate from the LFS.
When I first put my plants in the tank they seemed great but now they are yellowing. I have 2 crypts (with some root tabs), some hornwort, and 3 cholla logs with Christmas moss glued on - the moss was a recent addition, I glued it improperly and I'm scared it won't hold and will die. The hornwort sheds like crazy but I'm reluctant to pull it out because my betta loves it, and I can't afford to restock a lot of floating plants for another couple weeks.
I vacuum up the debris every time I do a water change. My LFS sold me a java fern COVERED in BBA, but I didn't know what that was or that java ferns weren't supposed to be black. As a result the BBA has spread throughout the substrate despite removing the fern. I keep light on about 6 hours a day, and there is some ambient light in the room from the windows.
Average water parameters the past couple days:
Nitrate: 10-20 ppm
Nitrite: 0
Hardness: ~80 ppm
Ammonia: 0
Alkalinity: 80
pH: 7.4
My instinct tells me to just not fuck with anything and leave it alone for awhile but it's so hard to not try to "fix" everything. I feel the tank looks pretty sad. Is there something I should be doing? Recommendations?

This is my 75 gallon and I gotta move it roughly 2 feet to the left towards the wall. How can I go about doing this the safest way for my flower horn and the tank itself. I plan on doing it tmr since it’s water change day and I usually do 75% changes. Any advice is helpful

Is there a way to fix this problem?
