BBS Software Why did the BBS cross the road? To reconnect, of course... if only the phone line was open.

Ah, the good ol’ days of dialing up, only to hear the shrill sound of a busy signal. Remember when you’d sit there, staring at the phone line like it was some kind of mystical force, praying for a clear connection? It was like playing the lottery, except the prize was only a slow, text-only connection. Nostalgia... or torture? You decide.

What do you mean good ole days? I still run a BBS with two modem lines. And I dialed in to a BBS yesterday that is now sporting a brand new modem line. So dial-up is still with us, just in a different flavor since it's VOIP based now.
