I can’t accept my pale skin- does anyone have any way of tanning without the sun or fake tan?

I've tried everything. I'm 20 and I've never been able to get a proper tan, I'm brunette but my father is a redhead so I'm pale as can be with freckles. Even after I lived in Australia for months I barely tanned much. I have also tried to accept my pale skin, and love it, in winter I can embrace it as I don't stand out so much but I have begun to find it unbearable in summer. If I don't fake tan, I get all kinds of comments about being pale and I try to ignore it but I just feel ugly. Even if I ignore the comments people make I just way prefer how I look fake tanned (when it comes out not patchy) because it makes my body look more toned and colours look more flattering, and jewelry. It's rare that my fake tan actually comes out flawless like a real tan, and even when it does it's a nightmare to upkeep in summer heat with sweat and showers and swimming. I know it's not the end of the world but it just makes me so insecure that I can't properly enjoy my summer does anyone know any real alternatives that actually make skin less pale/more tanned without damaging skin in sun or messy fake tan? I've heard of injections but I'm afraid of needles and they aren't fda approved anyways

Discussion Body Hair

Is it really that unattractive for women to go without shaving? I haven't shaved anything in over a year, and I see no issue with it, but I've had some backlash from people telling me it's ugly and that I won't find a partner. Personally I don't care what they say because it's my body and my hair, and I'm going to do whatever I want with it because it's not hurting anyone. At this point, I would feel weird with no body hair. It's just a normal part of me now, and I have no intention of shaving it. I've come to like my body hair. It makes me feel confident in a way I can't describe. Also, I save so much time in the shower, and I love that.

Hello,

I am thinking about bleaching my arm hair with hydrogen peroxide mixed with water 1:1. Does anyone do this regularly? I don't want to harm my skin longterm.

Seeking Advice 31M Lip discoloration further ruined by fillers?

So, I am a 31M and always had naturally thin lips. I had been getting lip fillers done since last 3 years. I don't have the big pouty lips, just enough filler to give my lips some volume and maintain it. However, I also have issue with lip discoloration. As you can see in the corner of my mouth, the lips have greyish hue as well a lip border that's not defined as fades to the skin. This greyish hue and the fading is genetic has been present since I remember. However, the recent lip filler that I got 2 months ago has made lips more dehydrated and less reddish, and def more greyish as you can see. I believe a part of this has to do with fillers as I have seen some similar posts. How do I fix this?

Ohh btw idk if it matters but I am south Asian, and I eat a balanced healthy diet and have other things like water and sleep going well.

How do people get their nails done regularly without breaks? Painful when drilling

Nails is my only treat and I'd rather not go half the year without them but it takes at least seven months for my entire new strong nail bed to grow out after a manicure. How do people always get them done, doesn't the drilling hurt? Also what do you have done? It seems whatever you pick, there is pain and damage.

Acrylic - for length, which I don't want

Gel - worried about UV exposure and also my hands have tanned a lot so I know it's giving a high UV even at other nail places I've tried

Dip - not tried but I heard it's unsanitary

I also found out I have overgrown hyponychium, do not ever cut that. It hurts!

Seeking Advice [x-post] angles brush for cream/liquid recs

[cross posted to r/Sephora]

Looking to add an angled brush for liquid/cream blush and bronzer. I mainly use Saie, merit, rhode, Patrick Ta blushes.

In my brush collection I have: - BK beauty 112 - BK beauty 107 - Haus labs dual ended brush - Hourglass 15

I do really love 112 for highly pigmented blushes like Saie/Rare, but I find 107 is a little too soft/rounded to pick up enough product, and it’s a little too large. The Haus labs paddle-sided one is ok for packing Patrick Ta blushes, but it’s a bit on the smaller side. I reach for the 112 more than hourglass 15, the stippling on 15 is a bit prickly for my sensitive skin.

I’m looking for an angled, dense (but not too dense) brush that’s larger than the 112 for effortless blush/bronzer application all over my face.

I have a few on my list (only looking to buy 1 or max 2) would love to hear reviews and how they compare if you have multiple! - Mario F1 - Fenty 125 - Sephora Pro 93 - It Cosmetics 4 - (not Sephora) Sigma F43

I also am looking at Mario F4 which isn’t angled but I’m curious to hear how it compares to BK 109 too if anyone has both.

Seeking Advice skin care tips

i recently used skin1004 centella sunscreen (blue cap) and it gave me clogged pores :’) it was definitely my fault for not searching up enough about this product knowing that i have extremely sensitive acne prone skin. before using this product, my skin was clearing up and i only had PIE. however, my skin is now getting bad again and i have no idea how to fix it. many suggest oil cleansing but im scared of using a new product on my face again. can anyone give skin care tips or good oil cleansers for sensitive acne prone skin? thank you!

How do I get my bangs to keep it's volume

I’ve been struggling to get my curtain bangs to actually stay voluminous after styling them. I feel like they always look fine after I finish, but then within like 30 minutes they just go flat and lose all their shape.

My current routine is:

Slightly dampen my bangs

Spray heat protectant

Use a round blow dryer brush, curling them upwards and away from my face

They look fine at first, but it never lasts for long. Am I doing something wrong? Do I need a specific product to help hold the volume? Texture spray? Hairspray? I've tried hairspray before but I might be using it wrong since everytime I've used it, my bangs go flat quicker or it just makes my hair look hard.

Loreal' Lumiglow thoughts

I have seen and heard about this product and many seem to rave about it. I bought it today and will be trying it tomorrow.

It looks like it's right up my alley giving possibly a natural glow with a light makeup feel. I'm a more natural girl and I'm sure I'll go over it with a little touch of blush and mascara.

Has anyone tried this and what was your opinion?

First time doing my own eyebrows!

Usually I get my eyebrows waxed at the nail salon but I haven’t been able to go for a while. I’ve always been too scared to do them because they just looked impossible to tackle and I never knew how the nail people managed to. Decided to give it a go because I hadn’t gone for months and they grew out a lot. I really like how I did them. I feel like they fit my face even better 1st pic is before, 2nd is after, 3rd is nail salon’s work

So I dye my eyebrows once a month with just for men beard dye. But it just stays for like 4 days maximum. Then I have to apply eyebrow pencil to darken my eyebrows. Any idea why it’s happening?

Is this normal for a bleach out?

Thumbnail

So I got a bleach out today. It went mostly well but I had a small question. I brought up the fact that there is a yellowish band around my roots and there are parts that are yellower/darker(1st and 2nd pic. 1st pic was when I got back home in a different lighting. 2nd pic is when she started blowdrying my hair after bleach and tone). I said it looked like yellow-y roots and it’s so apparent bc of the grey blonde. She said it would blend in a few days and the toner would wear off a bit in a few washes to blend better. I brought it up again but she said “I was focusing on it too much” The part that bothers me is that when I got to the bowl and right before she was about to wash my bleach she said out loud and asked her coworker “I feel like I should let the bleach sit on her root longer. I don’t know.. am I overthinking?” And then her hairstylist friend told her “Wash it, and if it’s not light enough, just put some more on the root.” So she kind of admitted or second guessed herself that the root looked too dark but just didn’t want to wait longer because it was 7 hours. (We both knew that it was going to take a long time. She said I was her only client today because it was going to take all day.) Another thing that bothered me, was that during the consultation she said it would be $400-500 with the $75 deposit. I sent the deposit weeks ago and when it was time to pay, she said $500. And I said “is that with the deposit already?” And she said “I priced you at $500-$600 right?” I said “No, you said $400-$500 during the consultation.” In which she responded “Well it took a really long time…” I feel like she could tell I wasn’t satisfied with my hair and didn’t think I would come back but I feel like her not holding up her word was kind of grimy. Overall, the hair looks very blonde which was the goal. It’s just a lot cooler and “icey” than the inspo pic (last pic)and what she said she would do, and the yellow roots are bothersome. I just want to know if the yellower roots are normal, I know my roots were darker to begin with (pics 3-5), I just wonder if her “second guessing herself” before washing out the bleach was why it looks yellower or if that’s normal?

Brow lamination

I got my brows laminated yesterday afternoon (almost 24 hours ago).

I brushed them this morning and every article online says not to. Did I ruin them? I haven’t been able to shape them exactly back to how they were when I left the salon yesterday

Now I’m scared 🥲

Makeup Pore filling primer for lip makeup with lip creases?

So I'm 20F and I have quite creased lips. It doesn't look weird, pretty normal but I've been seeing so many makeup tutorials on tiktok where the creators have no creases on their lips and product sits smooth on top. I know a lot of the times, it's lip filler but one creator I came across with completely smooth lips and a beautiful lip combo on said it was a silicone pore-filling primer. Just wanted to know if 1) That's safe, to put the primer on lips, 2) Has anyone ever tried it and it worked and 3) Is it only lip filler that can make lips smooth or is there something else too? I just can't wear matte/creamy lippies as they get kind of clumpy around my creases

Self tanner

Hello everyone!

I am looking for the perfect self-tanner without streaking or orange looking. I am decently tannish by nature and I tan super easy outside. I always go for the medium or the dark. I exploited yesterday, then used jergens natural glow, and I woke up looking spotty as heck and it's orange in these spots.

What would you recommend and should I do anything different to prepare?

Seeking Advice Need help with body hair removal in hard-to-reach areas.

Hi! I’m (F15) and I’ve always had a lot of body hair, basically, there's no spot on me without it. I already shave the areas I can reach like my arms and legs, but I really struggle with places like my back. I’ve always been super self-conscious about how hairy my back is, and I’ve never found a good way to fully remove the hair there.

Does anyone have any tips or advice for removing hair in hard-to-reach spots? I’d really appreciate any help!
