For context: The first photo was posted on Facebook on Halloween weekend, 2023, advertised for free as she hadn't had shots yet or been spayed. 3 months old.
The original owner was chewed out in hundreds of comments within minutes of posting, most calling them cruel and awful and how could they, some more carefully approaching the dangers around black cats and Halloween (we've had multiple cat abusers in the area), meanwhile I was slipping into their dm's to meet up and get this cat. Picked her up the next day from the small trailer home their whole family was living in with TWO kittens, a brother and a sister, and was immediately understanding of why this needed to happen NOW and not "Wait until November" as so many were suggesting. I'm grateful I brought her home then and not a month later, pregnant.
Their "Nova" became my "Luci Purr Ball", the name "Luci Purr" stemming from Lucifer suggestions and the "Ball" added because Lucille Ball is one of my favorite women ever. She's Luci for short, sometimes Lucille, but when she's naughty she's "Lucinda Marie".
She was a bit cross eyed at first, and suffered from wobbly cat syndrome so she wasn't the most graceful. She also has weepy eye glands, and needs regular attention to keep goop from building up. Otherwise though, aside from the initial evidence of fleas she's always checked out healthy at the vets, so I really am not seeing the "rescue" here. I feel like the word gets overused. Am I wrong? Rags to riches, maybe, as she's certainly a spoiled diva these days! Swipe for photos of Luci, now 1 1/2.

Roo will bite anything. Not hard, but sheβll just sort of gnaw gently on anything she can find in the house

He's not as pretty looking as some of the ones you guys post, cause he's a farm cat with a job to do. Best mouser I've ever had though.
