So finally got to my weekend so it's time to move my BCC into her proper enclosure. Build out is a 30"x24"x20" zoo-med enclosure. Heated with a 100W zoo-med CHE and UVB provided by the zoo-med reptisun 5.0 UVB. Nice large water dish that she can drink from and swim in to her heart's content. And of course a log tube hide leading over the the hot end, and a standard wilbanks hide on the cold. We just put her in and she dug into the substrate? Thought she might be more interested in climbing and exploring all this space?

What does everyone use or recommend for cleaning glass on the interior of tanks? I’ve used just water in the past but it just doesn’t seem to cut it and I’m hesitant to use store mixes because I don’t want to harm the snake. Thanks!

Got my first boa a week ago. I’m a bit confused though as to how boas are classified. Is he just a common BCI or a Colombian Red Tail? Is there a difference?

This passed weekend my wife and I have acquired our first boa. An 8 month of Guyanan BCC. Shes a sweet girl and is roughly 18 inches long. We have her in a temp enclosure, but I'd like some recommendations on the size of a proper enclosure as well as lighting/heating products. Should I use UVB or no? How tall should the enclosure be? Is there a particular wood type used for climbing enrichment? We've learned a lot from our first retic that we picked up last sept. But she's less arboreally inclined if that makes sense? So I'd like to know some of the nitty gritty to give this girl a rich, fulfilling life. I'd also like to know if I should be tap training her as well? She seems rather intelligent kind of an in between of our ball pythons and our retic, but she's in there. Thinking of things.

I have a jungle hypo boa I’ve had him for about a year now and recently I know there’s a lot of criticism about it but I’ve been using reptile carpet for him. I was wondering because he spilled his water bowl today and I was curious if there is a slight bit of moisture if it’ll be an issue, it’s very dry just has a few spots of dampness. Just wondering!
Photo dump of Squid. It's finally warm enough to bring her outside. Can't wait to see her as she gets older.

New BCI no idea how old. Seems very healthy and chill. First snake, just did our first live feed with a pup rat. Everything seems to be going well.
Will I have problems switching him to F/T once his feeds need to be bigger or should I switch him sooner. (Breeder raised him on Live feeds)

Hello Reddit.
I have a bit of problem with my old boy. He is struggling with eating.. He does actively hunt live food, but he seems too slow to actually catch them.. The prey manages 20+ times to escape his strikes. Is this just an age thing? He is over 20 years old. He refuses to eat dead, trust me i've tried everything in that department.
Anyone has ever tried something like this?

Hi everyone, a couple of months ago I got a beautiful two year old male boa (weighs 1kg, 130cm long). The breeder told me that the last molt was done on 01/31/25, and since he has been at my house he hasn't done it yet, is this normal?

i did a full substrate swap on saturday, not noticing these spots underneath his chin/mouth. i am wondering if this is scale rot or possibly he scratched himself on a branch or rough surface. please let me know, vet visit is soon

This is my sweet boy, Jormungandr. We got him a few weeks ago from a reptile store near us. 6 months old is what we were told. But I heard conflicting information from 2 different employees on separate occasions. When I picked him out and put him on hold I was told he was a Sonoran locality, would probably get 4ft.
When I went to pick him up there was a different employee who said the first was giving out wrong information. That he was a Central American boa and he would probably get 6ft. She also said all boas are red tails. (I'm pretty sure that's not correct.)
He was housed with his sibling and the enclosure was only labeled "leopard/blackberry hybrid". His sibling was much darker than him, almost purple. Jormungandr has a lot of peach tones in his sides and cheeks and a very deep blue iridescence.
I appreciate your insight! I've also included a picture of his enclosure. Wether he gets 4ft or 6ft, we're prepared to build him a new enclosure as he gets bigger.

So I’ve been treating my boa for mites for the last week. I’ve let him soak in dawn and used a very diluted pet safe mite solution.
But I’m wondering is there anything I can do for his skin? I know the dawn can’t be too hydrating lmao. I wasn’t sure if there was something I could let him soak in to give his skin a break and hydrate it. He has no discoloration or marks, I just feel like it can’t be too good for him.

Hey all! Building out this 8x2x4 enclosure for my guy. There will be a light in the center on top and glass sliding front. What do you guys recommend for heat and what are some cool things I could include for him? Thanks in advance!

I produced her back in August 2024 amd she's definitely one of my favorites. I really love the full dorsal vine and how the IMG is taking over giving her a chocolate overtone.

Joke question. Re did her home today with some amazon goodies. Last pic is before. Now she needs a real water dish lol

Ok all, I have a new 6x2x2 enclosure on the way from Reptile Kages, but I need something to put it on so it’s not sitting on the ground. Oddly enough, that website does not have any stands that are that big. What are you guys putting these huge enclosures on???
