Mod Announcement The Boise Subreddit Is Emphatically Stating This.
r/Boise stands unwavering in support of reproductive rights, affirming the right for all individuals to make personal choices about pregnancy, and we stand equally committed to defending the rights and dignity of the LGBTQ+ community
Moving forward, we will not tolerate hostility towards either of these topics. There has been a marked increase of people chanting white power and more in this subreddit. The moderation team wants to state, we stand with those that are in fear for their rights and we stand firmly against bigots.
Regardless of your subject, if you can't make your point without using slurs, bigotry or dog whistles, you'll be banned without hesitation.

Discussion Men’s mental health ride
Hi, I’m just trying to gage interest before going through the steps. I’m trying to put together a motorcycle ride to bring awareness to men’s mental health and create a platform for men to begin conversations around things we neglect at the cost of ourselves and our families. Feel free to dm me but if you’re a rider in the Treasure Valley, is this something you would be interested in?
Meetup group to follow for regular meetups but this would be an annual event seeking sponsorships and community support.

Discussion Is there a protest at the Capitol today?
I thought they were finally doing a protest that wasn't in the middle of the day during the work week. I looked on the 50501 site but am not seeing Boise.
Edit: Apparently they are teaming up with Women's Right Movement event that was already scheduled for today.

Question Activities for older adults?
Hi, I'm looking for suggestions for things to do with my 80+ parents, we can only do so many lunches 😁 They are not super fit, use a walker so hiking and activities like that don't work. I think I will take them to the Warhawk Museum but really searching for other ideas to get them out a bit more. Any suggestions?

Question Can you go to the Morrison nature center at night?
Like the outside portion. I'd like to go to take some pictures, specifically at night for a project I'm working on, but I don't want to get arrested for trespassing.

Discussion To those of you downtown folk
I work downtown graveyard security and a good chunk of you folk make it a great time. There are a bit of rude and disrespectful people but thats every place. The high majority of the people I run into understand my the point of my job and don’t make it difficult and the regulars I run into once twice or even three times a week y’all are awesome. Definitely one of the nicer populations of people I’ve been around

Discussion Making friends
Hi, I’m 21F and I’ve lived in Boise my whole life. Most of my friends have either moved out or are super busy with work. They are also friends that I’ve known since I was a kid. I’m introverted and not really an outdoorsy type of person. I’m also Muslim so I can’t really go to bars, clubs, breweries etc (you get the gist). Im trying to put myself more out there and make new friends and was wondering if you guys knew any places where I can meet new people my age?

Question local music community?
Hi r slash boise, it’s my dream to make music, i’ve lived here my whole life but finding stable connections and resources to further my music career has been pretty scarce for me. how do i become more connected with the local boise music scene, maybe to meet more artists who can help me learn and expand? what are are good studios and who are good beat makers in the area? just any musical resources will be helpful for me, thank you. i already make songs on my phone but i bet it’s not the same as having someone in the studio helping you out.
