Discuss What is your favourite romantic gesture made in a Bollywood film?

  1. Lootera (2013)

The film's climax defines one of the most moving acts of love Bollywood has ever seen. Varun's (Ranveer Singh) method of repentance for breaking Pakhi's (Sonakshi Sinha) heart many years ago, is to instill hope within her, as well as the willpower to live. It redefines all those moments of genuineness that he shared with her - from learning the skill of painting, to implementing it on the masterpiece he had yearned to make, which turned out to be "the last leaf".

  1. Veer-Zaara (2004)

Veer (Shahrukh Khan) keeping Zaara's (Preity Zinta) anklet, and withering away in prison for 22 years so that her honour stays intact, is matched by Zaara's decision to dedicate her life to Veer's dream of developing his village. The film is aptly named as if it were an old legend of two lovers, because Veer and Zaara's selfless love for each other can easily be summarized as a series of heart-wrenchingly beautiful gestures.

  1. Ghajini (2008)

Aamir's portrayal of Sanjay Singhania in this scene is commendable. You can tell Sanjay is feeling surprised, touched and guilty at the same time. He was already falling in love with Kalpana (Asin), but her act of generosity leaves him spellbound to the point that he decides to finally reveal his true identity. It's a scene that seals the deal when it comes to the audience's love for Kalpana as well, and one could argue that without this scene, the brutal and tragic end of their love story would not have been as effective.

I love Pankaj Tripathi - his dialogue delivery giddies one up but lately I have realized that he is just playing himself - he is not the character but Pankaj Tripathi in each of his films.

Earlier I thought it was just me and then yesterday I saw a reel around the same. Then I thought of Atal and realized that the performance in the movie didn't feel like Pankaj Tripathi playing Atal Bihari Vajpayee but rather Atal Bihari Vajpayee playing Pankaj Tripathi.

What's your take on it and who are some other actors stuck in the same loop? Let's discuss!

Discuss Despite being characterized as a typical goon, it's amazing just how memorable Jaikant Shikre is amongst the villains of commerical masala films. Prakash Raj's conviction really set the character apart from others

Discuss The excellence of Kill no one talked about.

Post image
1.1k Upvotes

Since it's release Kill has been haild as The masterpiece in the actions genre. And last night I watched it and I found it worth the hype. But it really surprise me that people only talked about Gori violence, nexcellent action choreography and Raghav's performance. But there were several aspects which totally got ignored. As:

1- The depiction of 'Cult like generational decoits' is totally new for the new age audience. This type of cult whose family profession used to be murdering and looting people used to be existed in India. The film got it very well. Sometimes it felt like villain and the protagonist are from different timeline (18th century and 2000s respectively)

2- Film has no drama and no unnecessary fast to slow motion action choreography.

3- the film has superb shock value as some deaths in the movie were really shocking.

4- Apart from main characters all the supporting characters did fantastic job and made the movie more enjoyable.

If you love action movies I recommend the movie Kill to everyone

Discuss What went wrong with Mohenjo daro?

Despite Ashutosh Gowariker's impressive directorial track record (Lagaan, Swades), Mohenjo-Daro failed to impress. I think one major issue was the struggle to effectively transport the audience to 2500 BC. The film's setting and storytelling didn't quite resonate. I personally liked the movie!

What are your thoughts? What went wrong in your opinion? Did the film's ambitious scale overwhelm its narrative?

Discuss Bhai Acting 🤌😭❤️✨

1.4k Upvotes

No one can match Bhaijaan's vulnerability in emotional scenes and charm on screen. His silent crying and watery eyes show that he's a great actor. However, nowadays, some people make fun of him for his recent works. He really needs to make a strong comeback with Sikandar on Eid 2025. We don't want Salman Khan to just go through the motions in his movies; we want him to put effort into his craft!!!

I genuinely believe Ranbir Kapoor’s filmography edges out Hrithik Roshan’s any day. Ranbir isn’t afraid to take risks, he consistently pushes boundaries and embraces diverse, complex roles. Ranbir's willingness to evolve and experiment makes his body of work more engaging and memorable.
