..Something seriously wrong with me lol.

Long story short i’m 25M gonna be 26 in a few months. I live at home, failed business owner, failed investor, work part-time for last 9 years (been in full time in school most of that time and have a Chemistry degree)

From age 12-24 been massively lazy and a huge oversleeper.

Despite that, i’ve made about £400,000-£500,000 throughout the years but i’ve kept nearly none of it.

Not because i blew it all on myself, I was actually WAY too frugal with it and never enjoyed the earnings. I just made poor business decisions, poor investment choices, and just kept using money ONLY solely to make more money, which then netted me losses on returns over time.

Business I ran from home that has now gone to shit because the market demand has tanked, so i’ve got leftover money tied up in remaining illiquid stock. I’m now practically liquid broke (remaining money stuck in old business stock that i’m struggling to liquidate)

I have no money coming in except the part time job that i absolutely hate to my core, it gives me £500 to cover monthly bills like food, wifi, car insurance, phone, gym etc

I remember vividly at one point i had £250,000 sitting in my account and said i’m finally quitting that shitty part-time job once my shares from the company become available and i can sell them without forfeiting. By the time that happened i was already set back.

My drive is at All-Time-Low. Health is doing okay i go gym and i’m fit & in shape - but i either sleep 12-15 hours a day - or i sleep 2 hours trying to bang out work, and end up crashing out the next day catching up those hours because its not sustainable.

It’s not even emotions/depression taking a toll, its more like i’ve just accepted whatever’s happened has happened but i’m not doing enough to change it - I literally cannot find a reason to get out of bed i’m just sleeping/procrastinating constantly. Its that “given up” type shit which is sad to say.

It’s a severe lack of not caring enough anymore at this point which i actually hate.

TLDR: Made money, lost it all have nothing now, live at home, part time job to cover bills, otherwise too-comfortable/no-drive to get out of bed to change my life, what can i honestly do to stop oversleeping / having a lack of care - as that’s my main problem lol

Will selling my site for $500 ever make me a millionaire?

Hi, I am selling my sites for about $500 or much or sometimes less. I do freelancing and stuff. But it doesn't matter because I won't be able to save that money because I have to fulfill my basic needs. So, how will I become a millionaire at this rate?

Does any millionaire want to give me advice on this? Or maybe guide me or become my mentor.

BTW I am 19 and in college.

Are Cryptos the way around Tariffs?

Lately it feels like every country(led by the US government) is trying to one-up the next with tariffs and trade restrictions. And who ends up eating the cost? the consumers, the small business owners, the people just trying to get stuff done. Shipping delays, surprise fees, everything's getting more expensive.

So, is crypto actually a viable workaround?

Not talking about anything illegal or shady, just practical. If you’re paying a supplier overseas in USDT or BTC instead of wiring money through a bank, does that help avoid some of the extra scrutiny or fees that might trigger tariffs? Or at least speed things up and cut out fees?

I’ve also heard people mention using smart contracts, does that even make sense in real-world scenarios, or is it mostly hype?

Curious to know what people think about this?

First startup flopped. Back at it again and looking for advice from anyone who's been successful

Tried building something for freelancers, a better way to connect, collaborate, and find gigs without the chaos of traditional platforms. Thought it was a great idea. Turns out, I made some classic rookie mistakes. Didn’t validate the market, spent money like I had a Series A (I didn’t), and just kinda assumed users would magically show up. They did not.

I learned a lot the hard way. Mainly that validation is everything and trying to do everything solo is a straight-up burnout recipe.

Now I’m taking another swing. Thinking of starting again and it feels risky as hell, but honestly? Giving up feels worse than failing.

If you’ve failed before and tried again, what’s something you wish someone told you before round two? I’ll take all I can get.

Hope I can find some answers here. Could someone please explain to me the purpose of "exempt" employees and why they are a thing?

My friend is a salaried employee (I'm not). He's also what he calls an “exempt” employee. I don't know a lot about business and, until I met him, I hadn't heard of the term before. He's tried to explain it to me but hasn't been able to tell me what the whole purpose of an exempt employee is. What's the reason for having them?

With what he's told me, it just sounds like an excuse to take advantage of and overwork someone for free. I watch him work well into 50 or 60 hours a week, usually with no lunch, and this week specifically he had to go in on the weekend for something. All without being compensated. It's like they took the contract for an exempt person and wrote “anything goes” on it, rather than specify the specific parameters of their employment, like they would for a non-exempt employee.

I just want to understand the reason for it all and why anyone would willingly agree to something like that?

Unlocking International Opportunities Through Strategic U.S. Partnerships

In today’s world, businesses that collaborate across borders don’t just grow—they redefine industries. I’m building a powerful network of international and domestic partners to create a global business ecosystem that seamlessly connects companies with the U.S. market and beyond.

Why This Is a Game-Changer

Expanding into the U.S. is a massive opportunity, but it requires the right knowledge, resources, and connections. As a U.S. citizen with deep insights into market trends, regulations, and business networks, I provide the strategic leverage that international companies need to establish themselves and thrive here.

At the same time, I’m bringing together forward-thinking U.S. entrepreneurs and businesses to collaborate with international partners—forming an interconnected global force that builds, innovates, and scales in ways never seen before.

What We’re Building

This isn’t just a business partnership—it’s a movement. A multinational network where companies from all industries can: ✅ Expand into the U.S. with a trusted strategic partner ✅ Tap into a global supply chain that eliminates inefficiencies ✅ Access distribution channels, retail connections, and local expertise ✅ Collaborate across industries to create disruptive, world-changing businesses ✅ Scale rapidly through shared resources, funding opportunities, and innovative strategies

Who Should Join?

I’m looking for business owners, manufacturers, investors, and visionaries who are ready to break barriers and create something truly global. Whether you’re in technology, manufacturing, agriculture, consumer goods, fashion, or any other high-growth industry, we can work together to make your expansion seamless and successful.

Let’s Build the Future Together

This is more than business—it’s a revolution in global collaboration. If you’re ready to enter the U.S. market, scale worldwide, and be part of something that’s never been done before, let’s talk.

Comment below or message me directly to start the conversation. The world is waiting—let’s change it together.

Out-of-State LLC as an AZ resident

Hi all,

I have 0 experience with any of this, so I'm trying to figure out the best way to go about forming an LLC. I am an Arizona resident employed by a firm in CA. 99.5% of my job is doing work for a large CA org that has a contract in place with my employer. The opportunity has presented itself to break from my employer and contract directly with the organization, which would involve forming an LLC of my own.

I have a severely limited understanding of how any of this works, but people keep telling me to register an LLC in Nevada rather than Arizona. I was originally considering forming it in California as that's where the work will be done, but all advice I've received is to avoid doing that and instead register in CA as a "foreign LLC".

If anyone has any experience in something similar, can you let me know the best way to go about this? For background, this work is my second job and I'm a full-time employee of an unrelated company in AZ but should everything work out down the line, I'm hoping to make the CA work my primary employment as the money involved is leagues beyond what I make at my day job. I've only kept the day job as it's stable employment, as the CA org cut me temporarily in 2023 when they ran out of money to fund my employer's contract near the end of that fiscal year.

I am so out of my depth here, if anyone has any advice I'd greatly appreciate it!

Upvotes

I am planning to start an online website to sell a curated selection of items. I have come across a lot of small startups/brands and would like to contact them. Looking for some guidance on how to approach. What pitfalls to look for? Do i purchase from them directly? While they may have their own rules and procedures, id like to have some of my own.

Please help me understand: how to properly use my trademark vs logo vs business name vs trade name

Hi, please be kind. I’m literally starting this business completely alone and spent the last decade in a completely different career field. So I’m a complete beginner.

My question is, have I made a mistake with having slight variations in trademark, logo, LLC name and trade name?

Ok for instance, if my product was a lamp (it’s not really a lamp, but just as an example).

Trademark name: Shiny Light TM.

Logo printed on the product: Shiny Light Lamp.

Business name: Shiny Light Lamps, LLC

Trade name: Shiny Light Lamps.

So my question is, did I screw this up by having each one not exactly the same? Like some were plural (lamps) and some were singular (lamp).

And on advertisements or on the website, do I put the “TM” between the word Shiny Light and the word Lamps? And which name do I use in advertising: Business or trade name? I read you should use the LLC name as much as possible for liability purposes. I’m sorry if this is all dumb but I’m so confused with the proper use of each of these.

Managing data quality

How do you guys manage the data quality of any Excel/CSV that you import into the ERP or similar system?
I mean the standardisation of data, cleaning it, and fitting the system format.

It seems to take a lot of my time daily. Do you even have similar problems or is it industry-specific?

Question about BOI filing

I know that as of the past week that the BOI filing requirement for domestic companies has been changed, so we don’t have to file it now. However I have a LLC formed before Jan 2024 and one formed after Jan 2024, and I don’t believe I ever filed for either of them. Now that the requirement has been taken away, would I still possibly be penalized for not filing in the last year? This whole BOI rule seems confusing and there’s little to no clarification on what the rules are now that the filing requirements is gone.

How do you franchise?

I don't really know what I'm doing so I need some advice and it is about franchising. And I only have an atom sized knowledge about it.

A little back story to set some context, I just found out that my dad franchised something a little while back (almost two years ago) A simple brand wherein their main store is online. The thing is my dad never really touched it cuz he was just forced to franchise it cuz of a friend. I don't understand the "60%" something but I know he owns 60% of it??? I'm not so sure. And it kinda feels wasteful on my part cuz I just found out yesterday he gave 17k php for that. And I love CLEAN money so I kinda want to take over it instead. I need to atleast do something with it b4 the 2 years thingy sets cuz if that happens, the franchise will no longer be valid.

So I really know nothing about franchising, but I feel like this is such a good opportunity to gain some bucks haha. Sayang kadi. I just turned 18 and I wished to help financially so I guess this is where I can start.

So back to my main question: 1. How do I start franchising 2. What should I do and things that I should consider.

Feel free to add more advice or ask me more details (not sure if I can give any cuz I barely know nothing) and thank you so much 🩷🩷💸

How much of my own money should I invest into my app?

I’ve been working on an app for over a year now with a dedicated team. My main work is as a freelance privacy consultant, but I haven’t had a job to work on for a few months. This means I’ve been using my savings to fund the further development of the app. I’m happy to do so, as I really believe in the potential success of the app (basically a productivity RPG) and I have sufficient savings to do so for a while. There’s also the upside that I now have a lot more time to spend working on the app alongside the team. However, I’m wondering to what extent I should keep using my own savings, versus for example trying to find an investor for the app. A factor is also that I don’t want to give over (full) control to an investor, so in that case what options are there? Should I wait to look for an investor until I launch the app on the App Store/google play store, should I find one asap or not find one at all as long as I can fund it myself?

I apologise if this all sounds a bit vague. For privacy sake I don’t want to provide any specific numbers, but any general advice for a first time app developer would be appreciated!

Is it motivation or hard work

Hi, I have started my own side hustle, but the motivation just disappears one day and appears another. I have been going like gis for a couple of months and I am not sure if I can continue. Does anyone else experience sudden declines in passion and motivation?

How do you accurately identify high-impact customer requests (bugs, features, repeat issues)?

We’re currently using Intercom + Enterpret with keyword-based tagging to categorize customer requests, but the output is often vague or buggy, many tickets end up miscategorized. Our goal is to surface high-impact requests, whether they’re bugs, major feature needs, or recurring problems.

One idea we had was to prioritize based on customer revenue, but that risks skewing results and blinding us to truly impactful issues.

Has anyone figured out a better way to do this?

  • Are there alternatives to Enterpret?
  • Have you used LLMs or AI to auto-tag or cluster issues better?
  • How do you define and detect what’s high impact?

Would love to hear how your teams approach this problem, especially if you’ve scaled support or product ops using AI or internal tools.
