Advice Are there any cat-safe toys that mimic charging cables? My cat is flossing with cloth textured phone chargers.
This is Gnocchi, she who bites the cords.
While I always want to encourage her dreams, I don’t think she’s fit to be an electrician. I took away her favorite flosser - a cloth textured phone charger - and now she’s in denial. Gino is just standing there where the power cord usually hangs and swatting at the empty air.
Like any good hopeless cat person, I’m determined to make her happy. Help me help her. Let me know any toy recommendations or DIY ideas on how to give her what she wants in a safer way.
Ok, thanks.

You could look at shoe laces. There are some different textured ones that might mimic this

I don't let my cats have strings or corded toys unless it's supervised.
I did get mine to stop chewing on cords by making up a paste with flour and EXTRA HOT SPICY DEATH chili oil.
I dabbed it on the cords where they were chewing and the behavior stopped almost immediately.
Just please remember to either wash or throw away the cord after training. I accidentally maced myself with a spare cord 4 years after training I forgot to clean. Lol.

I have some plaited cotton string that is sold in craft shops for macrame. I figure at least it is a natural fibre.

I would recommend silvervine sticks covered in sisal rope, perhaps? Glad the shoelaces worked out!

Just buy a cheap knockoff charger and let her play with it. Or just a usb cable tbh.

I’m worried about her possibly getting into the wires inside.

Please don’t let her have her own especially when you don’t know what type of plastic like carcinogenic crap some Chinese company used to make it, bitterant spray the cables and get her some toys that have strings or something.
