he is chunky but he isn't ridiculous cutting his life expectancy in half fat. our girl is 17 pounds of calico BUT a picky eater unless its dry kitten food. And our kitten is going to get fixed, thankfully, in about 3 weeks is skinny as a rail and can't seem to add weight. Does caterwalling use a lot of calories???? /s

Dude I think all calicos are a little rotund! I took Pudding to the vet thinking she was OBESE and they were like no she’s just…round…

The second I seen Becky Big Butt, the very first word that popped in my head was striking...Becky, you are beautiful!

Omg this is wild!! I just got a calico. She’s 4 months old. She’s gotten a little round but I’m very careful about how much I feed her. I measure everything meticulously. She’s normal in every other aspect but she has a little roundness. (She’s fully healthy and has been to the vet and had all her shots and has been spayed). Tiny little baby, round little belly.

I have a chonker. The vet said he was fine, just to try to keep him from gaining.

Yeah exactly!

Can confirm as well. Bebe is 11 years old this year and is round but healthy.

I wanted to contribute to the calico roundness 🥹

my calico is far from round but thats because she's super uper duper active. something about what youre feeding her is putting her in a food coma so she cant exercise her chub off 😔🙏

You think the chunky one loving kitten food might have something to do with the kitten not putting any weight on?💀

well we put a halt to it, but now we gotta stand there and direct traffic when they eat. I like her soft and fluffy but now pickign her up is a task.

lol. Gosh I’ve been here. It’s getting better now that the kitten is over a year but boy is his metabolism way higher then my chonky orange’s 😅

For what it's worth. My aunt and uncle had a serious chonker that lived to 21.

My vet would say “on the healthy side of plump” (she actually said this about my dog)

I feel you so much. Our 13y old ragdoll has always been big but not fat (She gets a different vet everytime we go for a check up, 1 says she's not fat just a big cat, next one says she's a bit too chunky). But we got a kitten a few weeks ago and she's been eating the kittens dry food. Now, she's definitely a bit fat. Kitten keeps eating her wet food. I'm at a point where I'm considering microchip feeders.

well if its like the kitten food we bought then its full of calories, this is why we have to hover over them while they eat or don't eat but just stare, its aggravating lol.

He’s just a med/largish cat. He’s Chomnk on the Chonk Scale. Perfectly fine weight for his size, just don’t let him get to Heckin’ Chonker and he’ll stay perfectly healthy.

I've got one cat who is 12lbs and should be closer to 10.75 according to the vet. Another who is barely 8lbs and should be at least 9-9.5.

I have purchased a microchip feeder that only opens for my skinny cat to try to fatten him up, but he just cedes more of the communal wet food to the fatter cat instead. He won't eat enough of the food from his special bowl to completely replace the wet food calories so it's hard to justify lowering the wet food allowance for their shared bowls.

Why are cats like this?

My calico is 14.5 lbs, thick around the hips, but perfect all the same.
