Adoption Abandoned Baby

Post image

We think someone abandoned this little angel and she followed us into our house. She’s the sweetest cat I’ve ever met. Her only goal for the last 3 days has been to snuggle. No chip, and no one seems to be looking for her. Poor thing had a crazy infected tail wound and needed it amputated, but she’s very happy to be somewhere warm and safe with probably too many treats for the last few days

Neither I or my husband would ever have the heart to leave an animal to suffer which just feels like basic human stuff

Get out of here with that nonsense.

Will you do the same thing if you see thousands of displaced gazans on the street with no place to stay?

Who would abandon this beautiful baby? I don’t understand people anymore.

I had a full blown meltdown when I couldn't find one of my cats the other day when we knew for a fact he was still at least somewhere in the house.

I can't imagine abandoning a cat.

this happened to me too a while back…couldnt find my cat one morning‚ pretty small third floor apartment‚ lived alone and knew there were no open doors or windows so she had to be in the apartment somewhere, but i just couldn’t find her anywhere. i started panicking and crying and ended up calling my mom‚ who lived six hours away‚ and she helped me calm down and look through my apartment room by room. turned out kitty had gotten herself buried under all the blankets on my bed and was having herself a warm nap while i was freaking out 🤦🏽‍♀️ i’m blaming my panic on still being half asleep cause i was embarrassed after lol

Could it be just a stray?

I don’t think so, she’s so friendly and seems like she was really well taken care of previously. Her fur has zero mats and she’s not skinny like the other strays in my area. It’s possible though, I am not an expert

I volunteered with shelters and too often cats will be abandoned when their human dies, the relatives don't want to deal with the pet or no shelter has room so they dump it. If the person doesn't have any family and the person was renting the owner or caretaker of the property will throw the cat out. Other times it can be a roommate or partner weather out of revenge or some other heartless reason. Like an abusive situation and the abuser won't let the other take anything even a pet they don't really want just to hurt them one last time. There can be situation were law enforcement will escort a domestic violence victim from the home and take them to a DV shelter and they can't take pets which can often be why people will stay in a bad/dangerous situation. I've seen a lot and heard many stories volunteeing and growing up living in building with heartless owners and when I did caretaking I saw pets left when the tenants skip out in the middle of the night. That's how my family got our 1st cat when I was a child she was with us for 18 yrs. Sometimes outdoor cats can be picked up often by someone in the neighborhood that doesn't like it for some reason they'll take it and drive it faraway and leave it.

Can certainly confirm the first point about an elderly owner dying and family abandoning the pet. That's how we got our cat. Who rapidly went from being a slightly smelly waif to the slightly pudgy queen of all she surveys.

Are you going to keep her

Unfortunately, we own a snake, which is a living cat toy and my husband is deeply allergic. We are going to keep her until we find someone we would trust with our social security numbers for her though.

She chose well. One possibility is she got out accidentally, got injured and chose you. Thank goodness she is safe and loved and will be spoiled and well cared for. She looks really sweet!

Criminal to abandon this one.

If I ever find that motherfucker, it’s on sight. People who neglect or hurt animals are the lowest amongst us.

You are not wrong.
