If you’re a tailor then you’re likely a caster, maybe a mage. If you’re a mage you are playing the cheapest class to play in the game. If you’re a priest, little more pricy because you need to buy waters from time to time, still pretty cheap. Could be a warlock? They have to pay for bandages.
But all 3 of these have cheap repairs, cheap consumes, cheap item upgrades.
When compared to Mail or Plate wearers
My warrior costs almost 2g per death , while I can spirit Rez all day long on my mage for about 80s
Oh yah, this topic doesn’t relate to you and really won’t until you get to the raids and such. You still play a cheaper class to maintain but here are some numbers that you get to look forward to.
Gonna use conservative numbers
Mana Pots 2g each, you’ll use 10-20 a raid. 20g
Mana Oil. You’ll need 1 per raid 15g
If you choose to flask 150g per raid
Repairs 7g
Food buff 5g
Boons 3g
So your per raid costs $200g
Your chest is going to cost you about 850g in mats
Your enchants helm and legs about 500g
Your staff enchant about 250g
Other enchants about 100g
Your Eye - 650g last time I checked, maybe 1,000 now
These are the things you can expect to spend .
It’s gonna be pricey even for you.
Now take all these numbers and multiply them by 5-10x
If only there was some raid format which people could get paid to participate in that would make farming gold super easy for the average player. Someone should come up with something like that. It would be so cool to get paid to raid.
I’d rather have what we have now than GDKP. The only people who are clamoring for GDKP are the player that have multiple accounts and are selling the gold
And people who are using their cards to buy the gold.
It starves every other way to make in game currency.
This at least forces players to figure out how they contribute.
God, I miss GDKPs. Would I get all the gear I wanted the first time it dropped? Nope, never. But I made all the gold I could need, and eventually got most of the gear I wanted.
Never swiped, was just a quality tank, and always had a raid spot, and even developed a sense of community. And hell, if work got in the way, or I just wasn't feeling it that day, I didn't have to worry about attendance. I just let em know I couldn't come.

What happened,
Gold Sellers got really good at farming and finding buyers for their gold.
Non swipers now need to earn much more income to play the game and to compete with the swipers.
So you have this, it is still playing the game.
Only have a few choices to make gold.
Trades kills don’t pay a whole lot, except enchanting
