I unironically support this even though it’s bait. The player base in this game is so painful, and it’s so annoying how people care so much about a levelling weapon.

Anyway. Hell yeah bro. Swords look cooler than axes.

Its silly, I agree, but this is not a levelling weapons this is the levelling weapon. WW Axe can take you well into the 50s and that's massive considering before 30 you're probably changing your weapon every level or every other level.

I probably kept mine until 53, 54. Didn't have any better 2h drops and wasn't using dw at the time.

So, for warrior you can get

  • bonebitter from quest for SM (alliance only)
  • Executioner's Cleaver which you can get from AH and it will be pretty much bis up to 60
  • rockpounder/stoneslayer from uldaman,
  • there is nice 2h in BRD

and some more. The point of why WW is so strong is that you can get it at level 30, and at level 30 this weapon is bonkers (corpsemaker, the blue 2h axe for level 29 so in theory 1 level less, have 29 dps vs 35 of WW weapons)

I would not take rockpounder over WW. Mace spec is just so incredibly inferior to the others. Stoneslayer is a relatively low drop rate at the end of a longer than average dungeon, and even with many runs, you might not get it. Executioners cleaver is very nice, but if it's your first character on the server, it's probably not worth the gold for you. Either save or invest it instead.
Kang the decapitator is in the same boat.
Gatorbite axe from mara is on the fast side, but probably eeks out WW just barely, and has a very decent drop rate.

The axe is a level 40 weapon put into a deceptively low level quest.

Low requirement but it’s pretty hard to do solo at level 30. Most people have to ask for help.

If you have never helped a random warrior in Hillsbrad/Alterac get his axe at or close to lvl 30, have you even played wow?

The quest is designed to take you several levels though the content of the world. It’s not meant to be rushed but more of a complete it as you go kind of thing.

nah 40s is fine, especially if youre broke from mount, 50s only in a fresh economy and with bad rng

(technially you get bonebiter in your 30s as alliance but lets be real, thats just ww axes hordephobic cousin)

lol who cares though? You can not get any WW weapons at all and still hit 60 just the same. To be honest most 40+ warriors I see are not running around with it.

That's very true, and you can swim by only kicking your feet but you'll have a much easier time of it if you use your arms

Difference isn’t that impactful at all. I’ve levelled warriors with and without WWaxe and it’s not that big of a deal. There’s loads of alternatives.

esp this sword, if I'm not mistaken its a BRE model
