I very rarely see shackle used.

I’ve only had shackle used in stratholme and scholomance(not in the initial pull) kind of used like the enchanter’s mesmerize from everquest, if you get an add or if things get dicey. But other than that shackle wasn’t used much.

As a priest main who heavily prefers TBC and is currently gearing up for Kara on a fresh private server, I am just screaming Moroes! You need it for Moroes!

Where are you playing TBC? All the ones I found were basically dead when I looked several months ago.

No you dont. A prot paladin can easily tank the entire pack. Even in a fresh tbc environment.

Yea it has its place, but it's nice to have. At least it's not turn undead or fear.

Used in naxx on KT and sometimes on Gothik

We had to shackle in the ST raid in SoD. Was awesome.

(Priest) Yeah this is it. We often had tank as star. Shackle is only prevalent in Strat, Scholo, and Naxx, and only necessary in Naxx.

Yeah this is it. We often had tank as star. Shackle is only really used in Strat, Scholo, and Naxx

Moroes fight in TBC was the first time I saw it used back in the day.

My group never really used shackle. Star was our sap. Orange circle was reserved as the "dunce cap." We'd slap it on whoever did something dumb and/or goofy while pulling trash, and otherwise we'd slap it on people, usually tanks, so people knew who to follow.

We called it “the nipple”.

2

u/Nevermind04 24d ago

Yup, that's either nipple or condom.

1

u/Dawnspark 24d ago

One of our raid leaders exclusively called it the "condom of doom."

Why need? there is plety of stun like abilities..

Star was sap for us back in the day

Maybe for raid content or something, but shackles is really rare. Not that many undead mobs that are part of packs that you also care to CC. I remember TBC better than vanilla tbh, and there's basically no undead there in dungeons or raids. I think I first learned such a spell even exists in wotlk!

First two have been established, first four are solid. The rest is kinda vague and we have lots of more CC than the ones listed today in retail, this made people forget. Monk, DH, sleep, banish etc. Fear is basicallly and was basically never used in PvE, only as last resort or for very special encounters.
