Just another game boy fixed and put back into circulation as it should be. Standard stuff done to it, retrobrite, new lens, sanding and buff buttons, new button membranes, new backlit screen and new speaker.

I powered this thing on and at first it was blinking a full white screen on and off every second or so, cleaned the contacts and now I've got this. sometimes the sound comes through other times not. anyone got an idea of what I should try next?

I bought a PS2 Slim 77004 by Wallapop and when I was cleaning it, I tried to remove the fan carefully, but I ended up removing the entire connector from the board, I tried to solder it again but I took 2 of the 3 contacts that the board has for the connector, I'm not sure if it has some kind of fix, or it's no longer useful.😔
Is there a fix or should I try to find another plate like it?

The other day I was at a friends house using my homebrewed Wii. All of the sudden, the output stopped showing and TV said “check device power”. We would unplug it then re plug it then it appeared to work. After a short time, maybe five minutes, the same thing happened. We decided to search it up online and while doing so it randomly started working again. But then another ten minutes later, you guessed it, same thing occurred. We were using the Wii HDMI adapter, I’m not sure this entirely matters. I tested it on my other childhood Wii and it worked perfect. On my home brewed Wii, the console would still power on and I could wave my Wii remote around on the home menu and still feel the rumble, just no display. Could this be a hardware issue with the AV Port? Or because I turned on the “480p system menu fix” option in Priiloader? Need help, not trying to send it in for repair for like $120 at UbreakIFix.

I have some older game consoles (like a dsi and a n64) and I want to make a hobby of taking them apart and learning how they work and maybe fixing them. What do I need to get started?

Hello everyone,
I have an old Belkin PS3 controller with a broken mini-USB port. I've tried to replace it with a micro-USB port, but to no avail: I have no electronics or soldering skills, and I don't know how to connect the right wires (power, data+, data-...).
Now I want to start from scratch, cleanly, with the right tools, the right components, and above all a good method.
Here are my questions:
- What basic tools (solder, flux, pliers, etc.) do you recommend for this type of repair? I have 100 bucks to spend on good quality tools. You can view my actual tools here : https://imgur.com/a/Ot3Y2mQ. (last pic)
- Is it possible to adapt a micro-USB port in place of a mini-USB port, or should we stick to the same format?
- Do you have any resources or visual tutorials (photos, videos) that explain how to do this kind of repair?

So I have an psp 1000, It works fine while plugged in but will not work with just the battery, It is detecting the battery and charge it based on the icon. While powered on. I have a working board that i've cross referenced, the middle pin on the battery connection on the board that works shows no voltage when a multimeter is connected, the non working board is showing 2.5 volts, I can only find 2.5 on the non working board when testing the caps and reators around the connection, the Good board shows 3.9 volts.
Any ideas ..running 3.6 OS, new batteries, multiple tried, bad board will occasionally turn green as if it's on but not enough power to turn on screen. Tried reflowing , new super capacitor put on, tried working on/off daughter board from good console.

PS2 Phat, model SCPH 30001, GH-015 motherboard.
This happens on both motherboards I have (both GH-015) i’ve done a little research and I’ve seen that others have had this problem in the past, but I’ve yet to see a clear solution.
It boots properly and then freezes on this screen. Will not respond to controller inputs. All the post I’ve seen on this are years old, so I figured I would shoot my shot here.
Any feedback is appreciated and I thank you for your time.

I have a ps2, the controller is erratic. I disconnect the controller, and the ps2 thinks there is a controller still connected? Any ideas wtf that’s about and how to fix it?

I repurposed the power PCB and made a 10v to 5v step down circuit using a 7805 so I can charge it with the Nomad's original power cord

Not sure if this is the right subreddit for this question, but...
I replaced the shell for my DS4 controller, but the touchpad is no longer registering gentle strokes. What did I (probably) do wrong?
The touchpad is still the same as before, just in a new shell.

Corona V3/4/5/6 Lifted it along with C2C2 while trying to bridge R2C7 and R2C6 for picoflasher, I found C2C2 online identified as a 1UF Capacitor that is needed for AV, no info for R2C3 from what I can find, other than it's a resistor

Hey! It took me 1 hour and a half to swap the defective jack from a friend's DS and the good one from a donnor board I have. The Jack was dirty, there was sound only with the headphones plugged in.
I have no hot air station so I had to use my old iron, an exacto, a flat screwdriver and a lot of flux. It was quite scary, the board is so thin and the pins so small. I'm very used to gameboy and older electronics. This is the first time I was working on a ds.
I know it would have been quicker with a hot air station. Do you guys have any reco for a good air station? Budget is ~100$

Pokemon pinball for gameboy color with built in rumble pack from my childhood. Pretty sure the save is gone which is what it is Nintendo logo boots but nothing after that Tried retinning the joints in the 2 main chips since I've seen that be a fix. Didn't go well for the smaller chip and ended up bridging a few pins After a lot of trouble, I believe theres no bridged legs anymore, but it still won't boot past the Nintendo logo. Hoping to get a second set of eyes on this.

when i replaced the new case for my psp 2k1 i realized that my old case had the lens removed, and the screen fit snugly into the case. The new case has the lens and it makes the psp loose.

The obvious answer would be "go to aliexpress" which I did, and it is absolutely impossible to find any parts that aren't for the XL/LL model. I really want to give my N3DS a new fresh look alongside a replacement for the yellowing top screen, but I genuinely have no idea where to find the shell. Any suggestions?

Hey there! I got me this OG Xbox a couple weeks ago. It was modded some 20 years ago, but due to some incident I had to take it to someone to get it repaired and working again. Seems to me they uploaded a second softmod to it, because it definitely changed and messed up some stuff.
I want to use Filezilla to transfer some games to the HDD, but for the life of me I am not able to find the network settings in my dashboard. I have tried everything I could but to no avail. Right in the "System" menu I only seem to have access to the modded dashboard skins, and that's all. Pressing "Start" won't help.
I have already got my IP address, but got to change it from "Static" to "DHPC". Any ideas on how to proceed?
Much obliged! :)

Raised line on the bottom right corner. Not sure what it is or the potential cause. Tried cleaning it with some rubbing alcohol but that didn't seem to do anything. Also tried scrapping it off with a small knife but didn't wanted to end up cutting too deep. The bubble around it is just the screen protector I have on. Any tips or should I just leave it alone?

Gave a PS4 to a nephew of mine and he says it's no longer turning on. I checked to see maybe he used the wrong cord, that wasn't the case. Took it apart, blew out the dust, and checked the eject sensor. I can hear the beep still but the fan won't turn on. Was going to test it by swapping out the power supply from my black PS4, but the power brick model is a different number. Great.
Turns out the white PS4 has a different model # for the power brick (4-pin). I've found some on amazon for about $50. Going to order it soon. I'm pretty sure that'll fix it. Anything else I might need to check for? if it's not the power brick, i'm honestly just going to give him my other PS4.

Both the vibrating things came off the board with all wires attached. The controller should be safe to use like this right? Sorry if this is a silly question.
I don't care about the vibration just to be clear, not looking to repair that part!
