News EU Citizens! Sign the Petition to STOP KILLING GAMES
Stop this Cyberpunk Distopia - EU Residents Sign the petition!
Tl;dr: European Citizens' Initiative to create new law against publishers destroying games they have already sold to you.
Short Story Long:
Videogame companies are intentionally destroying the functionality of videogames (both digital and physical copies) by shutting down the servers. this includes single-player games, such as "The Crew." The game cannot function without pinging to the now offline servers, making it completely nonfunctional.
The Youtuber Accursed Farms has created the initiative https://www.stopkillinggames.com to fight this criminal practice from greedy videogame publishers. Here's a video about the initiative from its founder
This ties into erasing videogame history and preservation, making an already horrible problem worse...
Only 13 percent of classic video games published in the United States are currently in release (n = 1500, ±2.5%, 95% CI). These low numbers are consistent across platform ecosystems and time periods. Troublingly, the reissue rate drops below 3 percent for games released prior to 1985—the foundational era of video games—indicating that the interests of the marketplace may not align with the needs of video game researchers. Our experiences gathering data for this study suggest that these problems will intensify over time due to a low diversity of reissue sources and the long-term volatility of digital game storefronts.
I wrote more about this problem here if you're interested in learning more.

Media The shadows in this game lol
Wonder if they’ll ever fix this if they’re even working on this game still, but the shadows are so goofy to look at sometimes

Art Cyberpunk Tattoo
My original vision was to get a 2 bands on top with symmetrical cybernetics in between them & it breaks out in the middle to leak out asymmetric cybernetics towards my hand, spreading like Venom.
But after showing my artist the Relic & Arasaka logos (what they meant & Cyberpunk 2077), He suggested that we go for this style.
Relic is changing & killing me & I'm taking Arasaka down with me!
Absolutely loving it! Hope you chooms love it too
Waiting for it to heal now 🤞

Discussion The romance options in the game are pretty weak, but...
Panam is awesome. I guess this is a common opinion based on a lot of players going the romance route with her.
I did my first playthrough as female V and went down the path with Judy. She's a cool character, but I didn't really jive with her as a romance option. Second playthrough with male V, this time with Panam, and I got a whole bunch of different feels this time 😂 I love Panam.
I hated those "I Really Want To Stay At Your House" missions with Judy, after doing them a couple of times I basically ignored them. Truthfully there's no difference to them with Panam, but I feel compelled to just keep doing them with her for some reason. The ol' cuddle and a shower, maybe a dance...breaks up all the destruction you wrought around Night City I guess, some down time. I suppose it's nicer with Panam because I like her.
I wish we had some better options for the romances, at least some different dialogue choices would be nice, maybe some more interactions. For a game that's so hyper sexualized, why can you only be intimate with your partner a single time? Doesn't make much sense when you can pick up a "doll" on the street to bang over and over again. When it comes to your romantic partner though? Nope. Very strange choice by CDPR.
Anyway, just wanted to say that Panam is flawless. 😂

Imagine the people who worked hard to make this town. All their work and this place with be glossed over or never ever seen by most players. Shor's Stone kinda shit man

The mission with the abducted kids is always weird and so is the cow video. I was at a Disney museum and found this short cartoon very similar...

Discussion It's crazy to think back to how CDPR released a spin-off Cyberpunk anime that was so well received it won anime of the year. It also brought in a substantial amount of new players. I was one of them.
I remember exactly how this conversation went down at work. My Coworker recommended I watch this new Cyberpunk anime on Netflix. I told him I've never played the game, and wasn't sure I'd get anything out of it. He said I didn't need to play the game to understand, but there were a lot of references for people who have played the game. So sure enough, my Fiance and I watched it the next day and binged through it. We loved it. I wanted to learn more about the world, which led me to get a used copy from GameStop. Now today I've had multiple playthroughs, beaten Phantom Liberty, joined multiple Cyberpunk subreddits and have rewatched Edgerunners multiple times.
It's truly been a wild ride. To think that one Spin off anime of a video game had such a big effect on me and so many others is wild.

Discussion PSA: You don't actually have to kill enemies WITH Skippy to progress his quest.
You just need to take enemies down while holding him, which is great, because Skippy kind of sucks as an actual weapon! You can do stealth takedowns, hacking, whatever. Just as long as Skippy is in your hand and talking to you. You can tell you're making progress by the fact that he occasionally comments when you neutralize someone. Eventually, he will force you into a conversation with him, after which it is only a matter of time before you can turn him in for your reward. I just verified this myself by stealth hacking a bunch of enemies in Pacifica until he gave me his little "survey." I think I shot him a grand total of ten times during the whole thing.
I've beaten the game like six times and never completed his quest because it was so painful to actually use him in combat. Now, I know you don't have to!

Discussion Here's a discrepancy in the game The Solar farms, use solar panels, but they are pointed at a central tower like a mirror farm
There are two types of Solar Farms
- Photovoltaic (PV) solar panels, which are the standard panels that absorb sunlight and convert it directly into electricity. They ABSORB the light, they do not reflect it. The goal of a solar PANEL is to absorb as much light as possible
- Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) farms, which do indeed use mirrors or lenses to focus sunlight onto a central tower, creating intense heat that’s then used to generate power. The mirrors REFLECT light, onto a central tower, where water is converted to steam to make electricity
To use Solar Panels on CSP farm, is much less efficient than either option, because the Solar Panels are now absorbing most of the light and the central tower is getting very less heat PLUS the circular orientation of the Solar Panels instead of making them face the south, means the Panels facing north are now getting less and less sunlight
Matter of fact, the parallelly arranged panels on the top right corner of the picture, are actually in correct formation and are facing south to get as much sunlight as possible
But choom, you ask, How do you know this is not advanced tech??
The Panels are dark as shit, they ain't reflecting anything. You cannot beat basic physics to make advanced tech
