Image Ableism is everywhere, guys. She wouldn't let me use the bathroom

It took her like 20min to finally move. Even after I tried gently prodding her with my foot, she had the AUDACITY to just roll over and start purring lol

u/trouser_mouse Mar 09 '25

My cat is called Poppy and she regularly traps me too!

u/BobMortimersButthole Mar 09 '25

Next time, assert your dominance. Piss on Poppy.Β

Cats will take advantage of anything, including their servant's disability.

You think THAT'S bad? Look at my eldest. He not only falsely imprisons me by laying in the middle of the hallway so I can't bypass him on the regular, he blackmails me for tummy rubs I can't even reach to give, and is so stinking cute you can't even get mad about it lol

u/stupidracist Mar 09 '25

What a little doodly boodle. Completely impossible!

3

u/LsMom6 Mar 09 '25

I trained my cat to come when I called her name, then taught her if she jumped up on my bed (where I could reach her); I would give her the affection/treats that she wanted.

52

u/cowssmokegrass Mar 09 '25

you shouldve gotten her face and expose her 😾

23

u/Damaged_H3aler987 Mar 09 '25

How dare she! What a little ableist!!!! I have my own, her name is Empress and boy does she live up to that name, ha! Thank you for sharing!

5

Poor baby hope it gets better. Very pretty cat tho.

6

u/crystalfairie Mar 09 '25

Gentle hugs to you and your cat. Give them some skritches for me.

3

u/rollatorcat Mar 09 '25

18

u/Emma_Iveli Mar 09 '25

What a mean kitty!

At least Zoey isn't like that... though she does jump if my crutch falls... but to be fair if they fall it startles me too...

22

u/MamaHotWheels Mar 09 '25

Mine does the same thing, so I carry my grabber tool to harass him until he finally moves. πŸ˜…

18

u/Dizzy_Hotwheelz Mar 09 '25

......you named your cat.....ableism?

10

u/HuckleberryFew8263 Mar 09 '25

LMAOO I love this

2

u/Dizzy_Hotwheelz Mar 09 '25

Wait that's not their name?

6

u/Mediocre_Side_6315 Mar 09 '25

I understand that it is not the cat's name, but is saying that the little one is a capacitist because she is covering the way (Presumably to purpose) Obviously as a joke haha. For example I have told my two cats that they are homophobic because they keep trying to climb my pride flag and tear it from the wall in the process.Β

6

u/HuckleberryFew8263 Mar 09 '25

No no her name's poppy, I'm just pointing out her ableism haha

5

u/Dizzy_Hotwheelz Mar 09 '25

Hahaha sorry I read that wrong, after I Read it I was like

OHHH

9

u/alonzo83 Mar 09 '25

When you don’t pay cat tax, greeble inspections take a bit longer.

8

u/lockandcompany Mar 09 '25

I tell my cats I’m gonna cancel them on twitter when they get in my way (i do not use twitter)

7

u/hibbletyjibblety Mar 09 '25

β€œOh my gohhhsh I TOtally didn’t see you there…”

Rude.

6

u/Repossessedbatmobile Mar 09 '25

Oh no, a traffic jam! Time to install a horn on your mobility sid for situations like this. Then next time you're blocked you can go "BEEP BEEP! Move out of my way, I'm coming through!"

Any self respecting kitty will respect the rules of the road or get beeped as a reminder to move aside.

6

u/AlexLavelle Mar 09 '25

DO BETTER POPPY!

5

u/RandomCashier75 Mar 09 '25

I don't have a car right now, but I'm sure if I did, mine might trigger me via waking me up extra early for Daylights Savings Time!

Epilepsy and Daylights Savings Time suck together! But cats are adorable yet a**holes sometimes.

9

u/stupidracist Mar 09 '25

Exact justice! Pick her up. Give her a kiss.

4

u/HuckleberryFew8263 Mar 09 '25

The worst part is I can't reach down that far without the risk of subluxating my shoulders so shes just tantalizing me lmaoo 😭

2

u/stupidracist Mar 09 '25

Honestly, I'm worried abt cat-rearing with my power chair. Ran over my parents' tuxie's arm and it killed me. He's fine, but I'm really concerned about taking on a baby pie. How have you been handling it?

3

u/LovecraftInDC Mar 10 '25

I am not a chair user, but one suggestion would be to look for a slightly older cat. There may be one out there that is already chair-aware, but even if not, a larger cat is going to be more aware of their surroundings and you won't have to worry about seriously injuring them.

4

u/[deleted] Mar 09 '25

When I was temporarily in a wheelchair my cat always flopped right in front of me. So sweet!, but less so for a 4am bathroom run

3

u/Brave_Engineering133 Mar 09 '25

πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

3

u/WolvsKitten Mar 09 '25

Haha one of my girls likes to lay under my wheels or behind them while the other will sense or hear me moving, wake up, and dart through the house to go under me just to freak me out. I love these little demons lol

1

u/HuckleberryFew8263 Mar 09 '25

That's so real omg 😭

3

u/Prezevere Mar 09 '25

Yeah that's a hard troll.

3

u/PlasticPluto Mar 09 '25

Categorically that is Ableism!

2

u/Facepalming-Asshole Mar 09 '25

Damn cats! One of mine always wants to sit on my surgical sutures.

2

u/builtdifferent-badly Mar 09 '25

I really needed a laugh today. Thank you

2

u/DisabledGenX Mar 09 '25

Taunting you with four legs, how dare she.

2

u/Gammagammahey Mar 09 '25

I needed this laugh. Thank you. I hope she was finally able to let you go! If not send up a flare so we know you are a hostage!

2

u/pareidoily Mar 10 '25

I have that same cat, same asshole. He sees me coming and sits right down in front of me. I don't know what his problem is honestly. I've had a couple of mice over the years. He does nothing about them. I feel like that's his one job. I don't understand. He does not contribute to the household in any way and the one thing I expect him to do and he just looks at me like, yes and?

1

u/HuckleberryFew8263 Mar 10 '25

Yep, sounds about right πŸ˜…

2

u/UnderteamFCA Mar 10 '25

Wtf ??? She needs to be cancelled, that is unacceptable behavior >:(

2

u/Repulsive_Line_999 Mar 10 '25

Sorry cat I’m not purfect ok

2

u/Clueless_Austrian Mar 11 '25

My gf also has a problem with our cats not moving lol Does your cat also tend to be quite suicidal? Ours love running in one's way and sometimes barely escape getting run over.

2

u/Ninthreer 29d ago

you should make a big net on the wall like a hammock so you can pick her up and put her in time out

2

u/KeithCalderdale 28d ago

At first I thought you called your cat "Ableism" 😹

4

u/KikiLin7 Mar 09 '25

I've got two ableist orange cats, always tripping me, and rubbing up against my legs to make me lose balance 😑

1

u/No_Inevitable_7756 Mar 11 '25

I don't call Chairman "Meow" for nothing

1

u/Rorere_AC 26d ago

Omg I thought that was a companion seat specifically for her. Lol
