Her expression reminds me of how I felt a few days after bringing my son home from the hospital. He was really a good baby, didn't cry unless he was hungry, uncomfortable, or needed to be changed. I'd had a C-section and was living with my parents, so I was exhausted in every way. It was Thursday night, and I had just finished giving him his evening bottle. I turned to my mom and said, in all seriousness, that I couldn't wait for the weekend. We just looked at each other and started laughing.

It was then that it really and truly hit me, and I thought holy shit, what the hell have I done? And now I'm truly stuck! LOL. That was 34 years ago and we still laugh about it.

So it was all worth the fuss and heartache then?

Absolutely! As the saying goes: The days are long but the years are short!

You must be a very well adjusted individual tho, I was asking because I am just about to miss that boat due to fear. Mostly having childhood traumas and mental health difficulties which should have been addressed sooner but hey we are here. I always thought I should not be worth letting a child into this world when I could hardly take care of myself, I dare say its selfish although sounds a lot like a whole lot of work to have a kid soooooo really. 🥹
