The first thing made me say WTF. I didn't even think about that stuff as a little kid. The second image made me wonder if the cops should be visiting that commenter.

I was four when I decided to zip down my footie pajamas and kiss my best friend, also four. We lived together. We shared a room. I slept on the top bunk and he slept on the bottom.

I was around 6 I think the first time I recognized that touching around my vagina felt good. I absolutely thought something was wrong with me, but I remember it clearly.

I had never been abused. I have been a preschool teacher and been around plenty of toddlers. Curiosity in these ways is actually fairly normal for the age. They don’t know what it means or why people react a certain way.

While it can be a sign of abuse, jumping immediately to that conclusion is also ill-advised. Overreacting is the wrong move, because the last thing you want to do is to scare them, or send the message that their curiosity is wrong. It takes nuance in talking to them and then explaining why this isn’t a thing they should be doing right now.
