Sticky glob ball

Picked up a cheap one, thinking it might be fun. But yuk, as soon as I took it out of the wrapper it's all sticky, don't even want to touch it!

Googled how to get it unsticky, just saw recommendations for cleaning with dish soap or rubbing alcohol. Neither of which worked.

It's like when old plastic items get sticky. Guess I'm going to have to toss it? Unless any of you experts know how to salvage this sticky glob!

For sticky stress balls, I was recommended to use a tiny amount of cornstarch. First time I made a bit of a mess, so I suggest doing it over/in a bowl or take out container.
