Game valuation and authentication MEGATHREAD

ALL requests regarding game value or authentication go in here. Just leave a top level comment with pictures/info of what it is. If you make a post regarding these topics, the post will be removed and possibly get a 1-7 day ban.

If you see posts on these topics PLEASE report it. It helps immensely. We will be updating automoderator to help alleviate some of that burden from us and you onto it.

If you are asking to price something normal. Like the normal release of a game, or a special edition, normal consoles, or some special editions. You can find a decent approximation of its value here at PriceCharting.com

To help, here are some links directly to some consoles. These are not ALL of the consoles the site has. So please if you do not see a link below for the console you are looking for, go to the site and look around. This should cover MOST games, if it is not listed, please ask in this thread.

Also, to possibly get you closer to the "real" value. Click on this link once you found your game (for loose/CIB/Sealed) which will show you the data it is pulling from (like this). You can see if there are any outliers being sold for far to much, or far to little. Maybe a listing that had other games with it is being used for data, or its CIB rather than loose.

Discussion Just got this massive Burgertown sign from CoD’s sweepstakes—did not expect this.

Came home to find a 40lb mystery box just chillin’ on the driveway—no idea what it was or who it was from. Opened it up and was completely shocked to see this giant, 3-foot-wide Burger Town sign from Call of Duty.

Apparently I won the “Verdansk Returns” sweepstakes on Twitter (totally forgot I even entered). This thing is officially licensed, lights up, and only 10 of them were made for the event. I’ve been playing CoD since OG MW2, so 2009 me would’ve absolutely lost his mind over this.

That said… as cool as it is, I’m a college student with nowhere to properly display something this huge and bright. So I might end up parting ways with it—hopefully someone out there who really appreciates it can give it a better home. Any suggestions on where I could sell it? Or DM for info

Collection I haven’t posted a picture of my PS4 collection in a few years so here it is today vs 2022 and 2021

First three pictures are my collection today, third is blurrier because I had to zoom out my phone camera to get everything in one shot from that angle lol. Fourth picture is three years ago and the final picture is five years ago.

I am currently sitting at 212 unique PS4 games, 52 more than 2022 and 132 more than 2021, I slowed down dramatically over the years because I’m mostly collecting for PS5 now, but I pick up the essentials for the console whenever I find them, if you have any more recommendations please point them out, I’m always looking to add to this collection.

I love a good “collection” game. Here are some of my collections and extra games in their corresponding franchises. Whether it’s multiple games on the cart, or a compilation of all DLC’s in one package, I love the value in collecting collections. It helps me collect many more games for a better value and save shelf space. Anybody like collections as well, and if so, what collections do you have?

Discussion I just found my introduction into the hobby

I just learned how much cheaper Japanese ps1 games are

The art is usually far more colourful and compelling, they cost like 1/4 of their PAL equivalents, and there are so many weird games in the library that I’ve been enjoying through emulation for years.

I think I’ve just found my ‘in’ into the hobby. I’ve been reticent to indulge for a long time, but this angle seems weirdly affordable and diverse.

For some reason I always assumed the imported games would cost so much more.

Also FF9. The first game I ever completed or owned. My favourite final fantasy, and one of my favourite ever games to this day.

Discussion Does anyone here buy the old Gen Consoles when a New Gen Console comes out?

I swear I think im the onlyone who does this.

Once the PS5 was out for Under 3 years thats when I went to get a PlayStation 4 due to some reasons being its at affordable price, and their is plenty of games at reasonable prices.

Since switch 2 is coming out its time I jump into the Switch 1 again and get a New OLED Model to replace my 2018 model with some fantastic bangers any Nintendo Switch 1 Game Suggestions

I already am looking at few

I came across this framed poster thing in a charity shop about 6 years ago for 50p and have always been intrigued by it. Can anyone give me any information about it? Where it came from? What was it for? is it rare? Basically any info at all would be massively appreciated. Thank you.

Haul Pickups at the Midwest Gaming Classic

Made the trip up to Milwaukee today. Could have spent $2500 on a CIB Earthbound, or $4000 on a CIB Little Samson, but I instead spent the big bucks on these killer games. Actually never played Wave Race before, but since my favorite N64 game is Wave Race, I figured I ought to give the OG a try.

Hi! I made a [post yesterday about how my wife found a bunch of retro video games in the garbage while dog walking.]

I've made an album on Imgur of about all of it organized, and less shakey photos to show it off. Some things I couldn't take photos of, like the comics, empty cases, dvds, Blu-ray, etc.
