Portfolio/CV Review Looking for Portfolio Feedback

Hello! I'm a recent graduate in graphic design and I’m looking for feedback on my portfolio. I love designing visual identities, so most of my portfolio is focused on that.

As a junior designer, I know I probably won’t jump straight into full branding projects, so I’ve also tried to include both digital and print design to demonstrate my typography and layout skills.

I’ve translated the project texts into English for this review, but I’ll be switching them back to Finnish later, since I’ll be applying for jobs in Finland. The About page is still in progress so I’ve hidden it for now.

I’d really appreciate any feedback on the projects. Thank you in advance!

I would say your branding is pretty strong! I'd like to see a little more variety though. When I am reviewing applicants I look for branding, digital based work (such as social media, websites, etc), and print based work.

You give glimpses of your digital & print based work, but I'd want to see more. I zoomed in on your brochure design and saw that you could elevate your typesetting, (hyphen ladders, runts, etc.)

Another tip I have for showcasing branding work is printing the work and photographing it. I understand these are fake clients but you can make it more legit. An example, showing a logo on a mockup letterhead and envelope is boring. But if you printed them out, and photographed them (whether it's a studio, or you set a scene) it adds some element of validity to it.

Overall I will say, I don't think you'll have a hard time landing a job. Keep up the good work and you'll be fine.

Thank you for your thoughtful feedback and tips! I think I’ll create some more digital and print based work for the brand projects in my portfolio and focus more on typesetting.
